Gallery Seven Frame Shop & Fine Art Gallery was established in 2008 by husband and wife Nick Johnson and Kelli Costa. We specialize in museum quality custom framing, this means that all of the materials used are acid-free which will preserve your framed piece for generations to come.
We are a local, privately owned business and all of the framing is done on the premises by co-owner Nick Johnson who has over 25 years of framing experience. Our client list includes private collectors, artists, corporations, and interior designers. We are available for in-home or office consultation and professional hanging for any piece that we frame, all at no charge. (MetroWest area only)

Nick Never Does Anything Halfheartedly!
Our client's son wanted to do something special with his wife's wedding bouquet wreath. We worked with his mom to come up with this awesome shadow box where the front opens up like a cabinet door! We think she's going to love this present!

This couple couldn't find a frame shop to help them repair this large papyrus that slipped in the frame (the frame shop that did the original job had closed). Nick said that he would help them. It looked like a good framing job when we took it in, but once Nick took it apart he quickly discovered what went wrong. Watch the video and find out.

Creating a Floater Frame That Allows Glass

Typically a floater frame is put around an oil or acrylic painting to show the whole piece of art, and it does not require glass because those mediums are stable and don't need to be protected. Watch how Nick takes a regular frame and turns it into a floater frame that accommodates glass!

On Nov. 9, 1943 the Belgium Resistance printed this newspaper in response to Hitler's propaganda and the Nazis having taken over their newspaper. Our client wanted the flexibility to display both the front and the back of this historic newspaper and as usual Nick came through, all while keeping it archival.
What is a Tintype?

The tintype was introduced in 1853 by Adolphe Alexandre Martin in Paris. The height of their popularity was in the 1860-70s. They have been revived as an alternative photographic process in the 21st century. Nick will give a quick explanation of the process, take a listen!
