    Hello, I'm wondering if you've had any results yet regarding your Matek ASPD-4525. I'm curious to know whether altering the length of the hose affected your results. Also, you said in the video that you received two lengths of hose in the package. Do you know what length each of those were approximately? The package I received had only one length of hose of about 16 inches. I'm unsure this will be long enough to cover the distance of a single run from the pitot to the sensor, let alone both dynamic and static pressure. I'm hoping I can use more hose than what was initially provided.

      I did a flight test and she works great. Check out my channel as I will be posting it in a few hours. I don't remember the exact length it came in, but the final installation is on the side of the plane on the nose and the tubing is around 1 inch in length. You could always mount your pitot with short tubing and mount the control box closer and then lengthen the wires to your flight controller. Maybe purchase more tubing and just tape the sensor to your plane and do a few test runs to see what works best for you before doing a permanent install.

    Been using a usb power bank and small fan … stays nice and cool. When I first got my LR4, it took forever to lock in satellites. Fly woo said up to 30 sats. I rerouted the GPS module to the top of my battery with Velcro, between the two battery straps. Also shielded the wires with copper tape. Now, I always get at least 25 satellites and many times 33 satellites. Super fast too. I don’t really need the fan. I was a little worried about GPS damage in a crash. I don’t really crash that often , so I took a chance. It has been great so far. Module stays with the battery straps when changing … super easy. A few days ago, I lost connection while mountain surfing. I was just turning to surf down. Lost video. Hit GPS rescue a little late and lost it. At the top of Provo Peak , 11,007 feet. 3000 feet up and 1 1/2 miles away , late in the afternoon. I was so sad. My brother and I hiked to the summit the next day and found it. I couldn’t have located it without the help of a Marco Polo tag and locator. It led me to my quad in 10 minutes on the top of a mountain. It wasn’t cheap, but it has saved my quads many times. Turn it on and find your way to the tag up to 2 miles away. Totally brutal hike, but no one got hurt and we came back with the quad. GPS was fine! Didn’t even lose a prop. I did lose a battery that was draining all night. Checked things out … flies perfectly. I have flown so many killer , remote places with this little drone. I’ve had so many drones, but this one has given me more fun than any of them. GPS on top … a great mod. They say laughter is the best medicine. A good day of FPV at a cool place can also do wonders. Love this shit . Never going to grow up. Have fun in the air!

  • @mindrev
    @mindrev 23 дня назад

    I was using a powerbank for the same purpose. The problem is that the plugs have finite insertions so I tend to use a fan with a battery. Also I have plastic caps on UBS's so it is an extra hassle. Also some new controllers can stop the power to vtx completely with a switch.

  • @Clickmaster5k
    @Clickmaster5k 24 дня назад

    There are a few options for this. They make RC switches that you can add to remotely turn off the VTX. Many FC include this sort of FC powerdown option nowdays too. Id look for this option on future builds. For existing aircraft that dont have a vtx power option you can use a USB fan also as an alternative. These included with your method are all good things to keep in the toolbox!

  • @Stubbino
    @Stubbino 24 дня назад

    Even if you're only powering the FC over USB, the VTX is still transmitting. If you want to keep your VTX cool, just put Pit Mode on a switch.

    • @Livinglifeat60
      @Livinglifeat60 24 дня назад

      Not on my quad, The usb only powers the fc and gps. You need to connect your battery to power the Avatar video tx.

    • @GhostRyderFPV
      @GhostRyderFPV 23 дня назад

      Typically that's not the case. Perhaps on a tiny whoop, or something that would use a little 5V VTx? But anything that would fly with 4-6 cell would have isolated power rails for VTx's that don't feed off a 5V USB input.

    I bought a spot weld unit and it just doesn’t seem to put a permanent/strong weld to the tin strip onto the 18650 so I have resorted to scratching the terminal up really good and soldering 18 or 16 gauge silicone wire

    • @Livinglifeat60

    I use a USB powerbank to power the flight controller in order to obtain GPS 3D by powering the GPS on a 4V5 pad and the VTX on a regular 5V pad that isn't powered by USB. So I wait till I'm ready to fly when notified by the INAV LUA script on my radio. But yeah I do use a fan when building and or testing video.
