This strategy won't work with the legendary action active. Once it explodes, everyone takes a dip in the lava. I tried sending the melee units after taking out the temp hp with ranged but I need a third character to deal another ranged damage to lure it away on the next round

The only 2 I missed thanks cause I let Shadowheart hold onto it but she wasn't in my current party. lol I think only one of them gives you a permenant buff, luckily these 2 I missed didn't do anything but dialogue.

I have Lae'zel as a fighter monk, between her + hill giant strength potion and Karlach + elixer of the colossus they fucked Grym up

I just played with my friend and i was monk with those glove who deal more dmg to metal enemies He died in like 4 rounds :v

For something you can get in the game opening, that only has use almost at endgame. You'd think. Idk. There would be something special for your trouble

have 3 melee goons with big sticks, then put gale on the other side of the arena with magic missile. gale keeps pulling grym's aggro while everyone else just beats him to death. i do this every playthrough and its honestly easier than using the forge hammer

I have a situation where I cannot activate the cutscene for the convoy to come no matter who I try to talk to. They just keep saying things like "not now!". Does anyone know a solution to this?

three fighters and a healer easy peasy, did this without even knowing its a achievement

Far easier method: Enlarge + Enhance Leap + Owlbear Wild Shape, keep the bear on the stairs and have someone else start the fight, then just drop the owlbear on it’s face with crushing flight

You are playing on easy/normal. Try to to this shit in real BG mode tactician, haha

My first time playing through the game, completely unspoiled, I was honestly surprised that I got a special achievement after killing Grym -- like, "Wait...I was expected to do something other than smack him while he was on fire?" 😅

Honestly, I encountere the boss pretty early by accident. I was curious about the platforms with which you opperate using a lever... So I cast fly spell on all my team, get them to the forge, completely miss the checkpoint and run down the stairs. Excited with my ddiscovery, i notice i have mithril on me yet and try to use it to make a splint armor. The platform goes down once i successsfully find the lever for the hammer, I proceed to use the wheel for the lava after noticing it all the way down... behold, the Grym boss. I obviously shat my pants after seeing his level (keep in mind, its my first playthrough and like i always do to make my life miserable, i play it on the hardest difficulty.) I had the brilliant idea to use the big fkin hammer to kill it (it didnt) but it spawned imps instead. I let out a ghasp followed by a big sigh of realisation... *Im gonna die*. So I reload the game, look up some advice on either grinding more to get higher level or a way to kill it faster. I am told to use the hammer (as ive done already) or just equip me and my allies (suggested to use full melee classes) and bash the boss with bludgeoning weapon. took me 3 full hours but after getting 2 barbs, 1 fight and shadowheart as a cleric, all equiped in mauls, I killed the boss in 2 turns at level 6. I had an easier time going hobo-kill-style than using the *trick* to kill it faster. I just think using the big hammer only makes it harder since you have to calculated a way to exactly put the boss below it... and in my games, he always just went around and avoided the hammer entirely. (And yes, ive seen the patch-notes, yes i still just bash him out with my party instead of the big hammer. This big Fker traumatised my ass for life with hidden forges.)

I placed my mage hand near the wheel that controls the lava, if you keep the lava conduit open, the golem does not activate its immunities and you can easily beat it even without using the giant hammer

I honestly had no problem with him. I used blunt weapons for my main character (battlemaster fighter) and Karlach. I kept tripping him using the trip maneuver so he did next to nothing when he stood up then just beat him down. He never got to hit me.

Beat him without the hammer on tactician and didn't get the achievement. Was very sad. Have no idea why it didn't work.

I was monk when I came across this fight and I had a good supply of bludgeoning weapons. Everyone was level 5, but I probably took him out in 3-4 turns lol. Stuns, topples, big hits with Karlach and my monk, and he was done. "Kill the Adamantine Golem without using the Forge Hammer" Me - "Without using the what?" lmao

dint realize this was a hard fight for some ppl until did it friends and they discussed how to do it. Played monk my first 2 playthurs 1 with one comapnion and ther solo true. Monk just kills it in 2 turns at lvl 6 with flurry of blows

Would be an absolute blast if you could have both Karlach and Urdnot Wrex in a party.

Thank you for this video. I recalled having Slave Mind in my chest at the camp, carrying it all the way from the Nautiloid. But the area didn't allow me to transition to the Camp and I couldn't bother replaying the entire part.
