I tried to get into RE Photography, I’m not fancy with the flambient shooting or HD methods. I believe my work was clean, sharp, and good, but not great. The pay was not high and I found the agents to be in too big of a hurry to get the images delivered. They want the home shot today and the images delivered yesterday.

How about if you have a hour commute, both ways, do you add commute? How much?

Always be sure to double check that the output has everything you want in it and that it's accurate, though, but yes it is really good at summarizing information and especially rewriting it.

Good point about the STRESS around wedding shoots. I am not a PRO but if I ever became one I would NEVER do weddings. 1) Wondering for the group shot if a couple of mag Spheres wouldn't have done the same job. 2) Do you need The Working with Children Check (WWCC) for photographing children? 3) The organisers gave you consent for the kids what about the parents? Dont they need to approve this on an individual basis?

thanks for making this, it's interesting to see what issues and pricing someone else uses and experiences. Never thought about if a restaurant would mind if you shot an event there. Especially since almost everyone who eats there if it's a nice place is probably taking photos of them being there with their phones and posting them. Very nice shots too!

I do agree with him on several things. Real estate photography can suck but if you are doing volume you can make a lot. I shoot around 3-5 homes a day and hit around 1,000-1,600 in sales a day 5-6 days a week. I made $170k in sales my first year in business. Yeah some days I’m miserable trying to meet the really tight deadlines and unrealistic expectations. I probably won’t do this for more than a couple more years. You can’t really do well and have a work life balance. You can make 6 figures easily though and I don’t think dishwashers make 6 figures lol.

I really enjoyed photography. Got a gig shooting for a local newspaper. Won several awards. Dreamed of $$$. Weddings nearly killed me and my marriage. Switched to second shooter for some other 'togs. 12 hour day, no editing, no marketing, check in hand out the door. Best damn money I ever made. Thinking use this skill for something... might just go back to film and create a YT channel. More fun and I don't need $10K were of equipment... lol

why is it so hard to get on Foundation. i hear that many people that are on it charge $$$ to be “invited”. i personally feel that they should have curators and change them up every season. what they have currently is a corrupt system.

I am a real estate photographer as well, I do agree with you that is very challenging ,but what isn't in life?. I truly believe that any field has tons of headaches, If we are looking for a field without tons of competition and complicated clients, I believe we might have to move out of this planet, not the country we might be living in, but from planet Earth all together, even if you want to become a criminal , there is tons of competition , LOL !! Choose what you enjoy in life and do that, and realize that it will be hard and full of headaches, at least you will be doing what you enjoy, much better than going thru all the sh....t and not doing what you enjoy ! :)

You shouldn’t appropriate your inability in one area as a general statement for everyone else. Some people crush it, others not so much. I’ve been on both sides of the equation - there are 6 figure opportunities everywhere for shooting residential real estate.
