Dragon Ball Super (Volume 20) - Book Review
I borrowed the book from the library. It was a great book. It took me a while to realize who Perse was. I like the fact it was a slow burn.
Got the book yesterday and finished today I love it ima order the others volumes 🔥🔥🔥
@@joelgaming0794 man, I’m up to volume nine, and it just keeps getting better. People weren’t kidding. Hope you continue to like it, man!
Does goku turn ultra instict when he fights moro tho?
Yep he turns into UI
But vegeta only uses blue form
I actually got this short story collection as well and planned to read it, unfortunately got busy as usual and been putting it off haha. Great review man and love seeing more book reviews on this channel🔥 God bless ya brother
@@thehorrorlander man, I’d love to see you review this one lol. It’s a pretty tough read, for the quality of it lol. Hope you’re doing well, thanks for watching, and God bless
Is it listed as a “paperback”? That’s all I can find is this book edition listed as a “paperback”.
@@SaoirseS. you know, I’m not sure, but it’s technically not a hardcover, since you can bend the cover. Definitely worth the money, in my opinion absolutely loved the book lol.
It was a decent fantasy story, but I didn’t like how low stakes things felt. Five people willingly follow Pinhead into Hell and (spoiler) they all come out alive except for an elderly blind woman. It should not have been that easy.
It’s not THAT bad. I found Baal and the night boat to be slogs to get through and Bethany’s Sin was drawn out in places too but I think you can see the improvement in this novel versus those books. I enjoyed it for the most part. McCammons writing is so good that he can paint a perfect picture in your mind. I love the setup for a lot of the characters (kobra in particular had a great opening chapter) but the biggest weaknesses are: - An overly bloated cast of characters. - The villain just completely collapsing as an interesting villain and turning into a joke by the end of the story. Also, he’s shown as being powerful enough to control the others with his mind so when Silvera was dragging him to his death, why didn’t he just use that magic to make Silvera let go? Very strange and inconsistent… - and let’s not forget - worst of all - the vampires are defeated not by our protagonists or their actions but by ‘the big one.’ Ridiculous… This book would’ve benefited from being shorter and a bit more focused. However, I also want to add that I enjoyed the setting of the final third where the sandstorm became a threat and a new obstacle in and of itself.
The author is pretty chill and cool!
Wanna read the most interactive horror book ever made , check out the book called House Of Leaves by Mark Z Danieleski. It's very scary and very interactive . It would blow you away . Best book I ever read in my life.
What did you think of the Hellraiser reboot ? They are working on a sequel .
I’ve been wanting a miniseries on this since 1990!!!
I really want to buy this one and add it to my Rober E. Howard collection. You should definitely check Bran Mak Morn and Cormac Fitzgeoffrey as well. They are also amazing characters. Thank you for the review.
That part about Gohan is so true😭
just heard about gonzalez & this book, thanks to literature map
Check out Michael Moorcock's Elric, Corum, Erekose, and Hawkmoon books
Hate to say it but i didnt enjoy it, I love black Lagoon and more light hearted stuff but Berserk just wasnt my cuppa
If you want to scratch that dai dark itch read dorohedoro. It’s just as good and all the way complete.
If you like this I HIGHLY RECOMMEND her other series Dorohedoro. It’s just as good if not even better.
I only realized now after my 4th read through that when he says the wrong words he’s actually speaking of things that haven’t happened yet. Like when he says bring the “pal” sit in the “buddy” sit in the “chum” he is seeing himself sitting in the blood of the dog Gandalf. The little girls “Buddy” or “chum” which might also refer to the blood….it was Red
I currently have 17-120 in my hands rn!!!!!!!!!!! Love your videos
I barreled through this book. It was right up my alley, and I never even visited r/nosleep. I am an avid reader, mostly literary fiction and horror, but Penpal left a big impression on me. As for the common criticism it gets about the writing style, etc., it seems totally unfounded to me. I found it to be incredible. Definitely a story to re-read.
I've just bought the one volume edition after watching the Netflix series which is (loosely) based on the book. I'm really enjoying these. Thanks for the video.
Sup dude, I’m so happy I found your other channel! P.S. I just got a Hardcover of Night of the Living Dummy 2, God Bless you man, thanks for sticking to what you love and being a good man in general, Thank you.
@@BJBlazkowiczz Hey, man, I’m assuming you came from the Goosebumps channel? Hahah. That’s cool-good to see ya here. Just so you know, I don’t really upload much on here, anymore. Kind of lost a lot of interest in RUclips, recently. Still love my horror movie channel, but having a hard time figuring-out what to do with that one, too. God bless you!
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks Neato! Good to hear ya’!
I think that when it comes to Hellraiser, its best to stick with the original two films, and the novella. I feel those are not only the creepiest of the saga, but also the only really good ones which Clive Barker was connected to. also, Mr.Barker has so much more to offer in both fantasy and horror, and I feel that Hellraiser overshadows some of his other amazing stuff, like the books of blood? awesome, the great and secret show? terrific! I definitely recomend if your a hellraiser fan, check out Clives other work, he has so many fantastical, wacky, and engraving stories to tell, definitely check those out!😃😃😃
I LOVED They Thirst and have read it several times.
w
Oh man for the love of God do not spoil this story for your self, please. I did by accident many times and I’m an idiot. If you’re reacting this way to VOLUME 3 you are NOT ready for volume 13. I’m subscribing so I can see your reaction.
@@hhowdy hahaha! Nice, man! A ton of people were telling me that in the comments of my review for Volume 1, and I was finding it hard to believe. But as soon as I saw the scene where Guts is born and found in Volume 2, I had the most horrifying chill go through me. This series is insane-it’s so different compared to other comics and manga that I’ve read.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooksthis shit is going to fuck you up. Change the way you look at stories, inflict emotion upon you. You will be changed.
I listened to Penpal in August 2023 from Mr CreepyPasta. That story’s ending HIT ME man I almost cried I was right on the verge of tears because that ending was so TRAGIC. If I could explain it the best I could I’d say each chapters plot twist at the end gets crazier and crazier and more intense. Until the ending just hits you like a truck. This story is literally perfect it’s so good.
@@hhowdy it’s amazing how one of the greatest horror novels ever came from the internet hahah. All of these professional horror authors that have been around for decades can’t even come close to the atmosphere Penpal has going for it. It really gets under your skin lol.
Nice
I also agree that swan song is a perfect read. Time has no meaning when you’re inside the story. Thanks.for sharing Robert McCammon with others.
@@cynthiafrost1130 man, it’s one hell of an amazing read! One of the most engrossing books ever, in my opinion. Not a wasted word anywhere in the book lol. Thanks for watching!
Nice dude thx for this.. you got a sub
@@jangonauta hey, man, appreciate that! Just a heads-up; I’m not sure how often I’ll be doing manga/comic reviews. Seems like a lot of my regular audience don’t watch these as often. Didn’t want you to be super disappointed lol. Regardless, I appreciate the sub. God bless!
@mrwildboyhorrorbooks dont worry bud.. you do you.... i just really appreciate the time you put in to it.
I’m unable to read super long books. Do you have any tips?
Dude, I’m so sick of how bloated books are, that I eventually got to the point where I don’t read the majority of description paragraphs lol. I do read every bit of dialogue and action, but I skip a ton of the descriptions, and I actually think it paces books a lot better. A lot of people give me shit for that, but I prefer it. Definitely try it out sometime.
Also: Swan Song is a massive book, but it’s worth every word hahah
I just put up a pick on my community page. My bro and I have unboxed some mini brands books and I put a pic of the mini brand . Version of goosebumps the haunted mask in case you wanted to see it .
This is my favourite Laymon book. I loved the atmosphere. I wish he could write more books
It’s fantastic! Absolutely loved the fall atmosphere of this one. Such an eerie read for such a short book
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I’m surprised your version is 350 pages. The one i have is 440. I love the book to pieces, even though it isn’t as extreme, i just find it to be comforting when I’m feeling down. For some reason, all of Laymon’s books are comforting
comparing it to Richard Laymon is making me want to read it, but then the present tense made my skin crawl. i vehemently HATE the present tense, so I am with you on that 🤣
Jesus, dude, you have no idea how bad the present tense is, in here. These newer writers (of erotica, horror, any genre) have got to stop that shit lol. It’s making people like me not want to read.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I hate books where it’s like “She is walking to the grocery store. Sandra enters the store and gets a shopping cart, and walks down the aisles searching for a bag of potato chips.” I hate it so much. Riley Sager would be a great author if he didn’t use it in EVERY BOOK. Darcy Coates “Dead of Winter” would also have been great. But it fell into the trap of the present tense.
Also my bro reviewed the mockumetry R2-D2 under the dome
Ya I read and read reviewed Star Wars splinter of the minds eye two years ago no wonder I can’t remember how I feel about the video is up if want to check out
I’ll recommend a Star Wars book I’ve read it part of legends now splinter of the mind’s eye treat like a marvel what if . And I’ve heard of book called the glove of darth vader . And Star Wars Lando .
I heard Glove and Splinter were awful books hahah
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks glove maybe I’ve not read it but splinter I did read and it was written as the second movie if there the first hadn’t bin a hit and it’s considered to the first expanded universe novel. So I read like marvel what if and since legends now I think marvel did a comic adaptation of splinter of minds eye that eye but never read that version. Have read the Lando. Trilogy of novels.
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks I read splitter of the minds eye it was a while a ago so can’t remember of I liked or not I but I do know I liked the Lando solo comic marvel put out the first one . The mini series .
I did a video last year after I did a review of goosebumps. Attack of the mutant. Which is the first goosebumps book I found in the wild and reviewed on my channel. I did a sequel. To that video called samurai what if . What if I wrote a sequel to attack of the mutant
What’s your movie review channel ? Also have seen the movies in the Abbott and Costello meets the monsters series . The favorite in our house is Abbott and Costello meet the invisible man
It’s called Night of the Living Dude. And, dude, A&C Meet Frankenstein is probably my absolute favorite! They’re amazing!
When you least expected, he returned! Love that you went back to horror book reviews, these always my favorites
Yeah, man! It seems like it’s what most people like on here, to begin with, so I’ll try my best to stick with discussing those as often as I can lol. Don’t know how frequently that’ll be, though. Dude, I can’t wait for you to read Washingtonians, someday, when you’ve run out of anything else to read lmao. It’s an absolute gem.
I remember I read the first few short stories in this collection. It wasn’t my favourite, but I’m willing to give Bentley Little another chance
Oh, man, definitely check out Washingtonians, if you didn’t make it there! That’s the best of the whole thing, dude!
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooksI will! Ironically, I bought the dvd of Masters of Horror. Gotta check if it’s the one with The Washingtonians.
@@XtremeReviews11 Let me know if the show is any good-I’ve heard one guy I love on RUclips say he enjoyed it fairly well, and I’m a big fan of anthology horror. Hoping to like it as much as he did lol.
I know you do horror movie reviews. Have review Any of the el santo series of horror movies like el santo meets Frankenstein’s daughter.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard of those until you mentioned them lol. I’ll try to get around to it and review it on my horror movie channel, sometime. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@mrwildboyhorrorbooks there is a also a western movie called Jessie James meets frankensteins’s daughter I’ve seen this a couple times of like weird western westerners it’s worth watching
I know you do horror movie reviews I just put a review of one the el santo movies check out when have some free time and let me know what you think I also put a goosebumps book review as well
Nice, man! I’ll check it out as soon as I can! Lol
Great review. Muira has a way of expressing the tiniest emotions and his art skills is incomparable
