Hobie BOS - Lake Dardanelle - Bass Tournament - Day 1 & 2
My first Hobie BOS event. Overall good experience although the fishing at Lake Dardanelle was very tough. If you caught a limit you weren't doing too bad.
Day 1 we ended up going to a place we hadn't fished before but heard there were fish around. Our goal was pretty simple, catch a limit, but that proved to be pretty tough.
Day 2 we adventured to another new area that we had also heard held some fish but spent most of the day catching dinks until a late evening fish clued me into what I needed to be doing.

SEKKA - Bass Tournament - Championship - Lake Fort Scott
Просмотров 165Год назад
I had heard some good things about this lake and I really wanted to check it off the list before the end of the season. Given I had just barely qualified for the SEKKA championship I decided to give it a go, junk fishing all day on a new lake. Ended the day in 3rd place so overall not bad. Hobie BOS - Caddo Lake - Bass Tournament - Day 2

For Day 2 of the tournament we ended up going to a different area as our Day 1 did not go as well as we had hoped. We unfortunately did not get to pre-fish this area so it was a bit of a gamble. The weather had changed a bit on Day 2 and we were going to have to deal with some wind so finding areas that were somewhat protected was the plan. Day 1 we started off in a pretty well known area but it was where we seemed to find the better quality fish. The amount of fishing pressure in my original starting area along with some mistakes I made drove me to change locations looking for less heavily fished water. While it was a gamble it ended up paying off this time with an okay limit. Be sure to like and subscribe for future content 👍👍👍👍...

Headed down to Texas / Lousianan for the 2nd Hobie BOS event of the 2023 season on Caddo Lake. Day one I spent most of my time exploring covering 10 miles, didn't catch any fish of size but caught a decent amount. Day two I had a bit of a better idea on what I needed to be looking for and was able to find a bit better quality. This was my first time at the lake and overall I had a great time. D...

Final tournament of the 2022 season for KKA at Hillsdale. Hillsdale has not been known as much of a bass fishery for me. You are missing out on the best part by not stretching the rubber and cutting with scissors to separate the strands lol. Great looking jigs! Too bad people will only buy "wire tied", thread tied is more than strong enough.

    Stretch and cut the living rubber really slowly, cutting off only about 1/8th inch or so, and it will separate without having to do each strand by hand.

    great video except im confused on some things. Why the wire and what's the "living rubber" for? why not just use 2 more black n gold tabs?

    • @applegatefishing
      @applegatefishing Год назад

      Thanks Bobby! The wire is just an extra barrier to keep the skirt in place. It is not a requirement, I prefer having the wire there versus not. Living rubber actually provides the skirt with more action / pulsating action when on the bottom, jigging or swimming the jig. There is a big enough difference in how silicone skirt material performs vs. living rubber that I put some living rubber in all of my jigs. The living rubber typically cost more than the silicone skirts. I prefer the aesthetic of the silicone skirt material along with the cost but I prefer the action of the living rubber. Hence the hybrid jig. Really just comes down to personal preference more than anything.
