@texasautotheater6299 I use the green duraglass filler to bond on the bodykit. I tap up the fender and use short strand fiberglass to add to the kit to make it line up better

@texasautotheater6299 no cutting on the mustangs to fear kit. If it's a cheap ebay kit than yes you may have to cut reliefs in flares. They are just bonded on with duraglass

Really appreciate the replies! Oh gotcha, sorry I meant cutting on the cars fender or quarters metal. I know some flare requiring cutting into the fender metal and on the rear quarter can involve separating the inner/outer metal and bending the inner quarter metal up to meet the new flare. Looks like that's not the case here!

@@MrGonein60 ever have any issues with flex? shoot, there's an old junker coupe i can get today for next to nothing, considering pushing the button right now on a 67 fastback kit

@firstnamelastname3117 only issues I've had is the fiberglass parts will shrink over time. It's a good idea to put the kit out in the sun for at least a week and let it shrink before you glass it to the car. Far as issues with filler or duraglass no I've had good luck

@GranjersGarage on a 69-70coupe to fastback you have to cut a slit in the windshield post right above and in line with the top edge of the door. I then use a fastback front roof brace and use a fast back windshield to help me determine how much of the post to cut out. Fastback is tad shorter and the post lays in more on each side. The slits you cut in the lower windshield post helps to lay post over. It sounds complicated but it's super easy.

So I assume I can learn how to weld, beyond that, any recommendations on tools required to complete, minus paint of course and standard tools every mechanic more than likely has. Thank you.

@outdoorguy5485 no that rustoleum reducer was just sitting there from another job. The basecoat paint I used uses a urethane reducer.

@theelf152 it looked like glass on 2nd coat. There's always going to be overspray while painted a complete car I've painted over 40 of these eleanors and paints always held up good. There's 4 coats of base and 2 coats of urethane clear coat. No thicker than any other paint job I'd imagine. It only appeared I was going over same spot alot. I wasn't Thanks for watching.
