10 Simple Weekly Bullet Journal Spreads
I love the idea of making a list of scary movie to watch all month. You need to watch Wolf Creek. It's based on a true story in Australia. Great ideas for October setup. 🎃🎃
Oooh, thanks for the suggestion! I'll put it on the list!
wonderful customer service is an amazing thing in this day and age... so glad it worked out. So are there a whole lot of different nibs? I haven't heard of a journalors nib... and then there are some with numbers.. I am so confused. But I just have lots to learn!!
I am definitely not an expert on nibs. The standard nibs are extra-fine, fine, medium, broad - but then there are variations and many other grinds - some specialized by the nibmeister. Goulet Pens has a blog post/video explaining some of the other things to consider about nibs. I think the journaler was created by Gina Solarino (sp?) for Esterbrook exclusively *I think* but I could be totally wrong. Here is the link to the Goulet post: www.gouletpens.com/blogs/fountain-pen-blog/fountain-pen-nibs-explained?srsltid=AfmBOop60H8De66ypBUpIVMGf-qNsn_NibCaqJhTSctGdTYfsewylIOQ
I love how you and your hubby are so creative together. May I ask what he uses his notebook for? Just to hear a man's use with what seems to be a lady's world.
Thank you - we share many creative interests which makes it so fun to stay motivated! He uses many journals - a bullet journal for planning/appointments/calendar/todo lists, a Plotter system for planning/managing writing projects and weekly goals, a Hobonichi 5 year, a brain dump journal, and a writing "bible" (that is dedicated to one writing project). He has a lot going on journal-wise! 🤣
Nice video. Next notebook cover maybe he could try putting the closing band hole on the spine. This is unsolicited but I love my notebooks that have the closing band connection on the spine. I LOVE the purple and green combo.
Funny, these are the first ones he has made with the band hole on the back (like the TN). He made me an A5 thicker cover for my bullet journal with the band hole in the spine - I think I do prefer that as well over the back. 🙂
ooh I love the A6 covers you guys made!
Thank you! It was all my husband - and I love them too!
I love your beautiful mess! It’s a journey and in the end it’s like phoenix rising from the ashes! 🎉💕🖋️
Beautiful
Love the Opus Grumpy Cat pen. 🖋 Out of my budget, however it does look like a great pen for ink sketches, line & wash. 😊I have a tjing for mini pens. I am sad Pilot discontinued their Petit 1. They are on ebay for $20 😢
Have you used a Pilot Preppy? It's not a mini pen, but it is small and affordable. I picked one up at SF Pen show and I have it in my every day carry. I'm actually using it more often than I imagined as I am not a F nib gal. But it is a great writer!
I love BPC inks. I bought a couple inks and fell in love and may have bought some more...lol I like all the colors you got. I have made Salamander and Antique Sanguine. I think I need to make Sugar kelp. That one is so pretty.
I have a few more in my cart...I need to calm down though until I get my other inks organized. But Sugar Kelp is one of my favorite inks of all time!
@@lidl.doodle yeah... I got a handful of inks... then decided to start getting the Atominks so I can mix my own. They have recipes on a lot of their inks. I need just like three more to be able to make almost all the inks with recipes. I might make the sugar kelp for next month
@@Adventuresover40 That's super cool! I didn't realize that was a thing! *off to research atominks!
@@lidl.doodle haha... Welcome to the new rabbit hole. 😊 Its a lot of fun. Maybe Ill do a video of it one day.
Love these colors. Fall inks are the best. You picked some good ones.
It was so hard to pick! What are your favorites? I might have to do another video of just fall inks and pens - there's so many great ones!🤣
@@lidl.doodleThey are all good but the 2nd - 5th and of course the last one.
I LOVE the Purple cover your husband made.!!!! 💖💖💖 have fun in ur new journals.!!!
Thank you! I've never had a purple cover before - I love it!
Your husband is talented and made some beautiful covers.❤
Thank you! I might have to make him make me some more!
@@lidl.doodle 💯 Absolutely ❤️
I am glad you mentioned that you find the whole ink swatching thing therapeutic - same here. I don’t even post pen content, yet spend an astounding amount of time fiddling with record keeping. 🖊️ 📔 ❤
I have been enjoying it more and more!
I have a personal sized ring binder with 3 sections and Tomoe River Paper in 52 and 68 gsm. The first section is my pen collection sorted by brands (4 pens per page, double sided, with the current ink listed under the pen incl. the date I put it in), the second is my pen collections sorted by color of the current ink in the pen (just a list and I cross out the old combo), the third is all my bottled inks sorted by color (8 colors per page, single sided to avoid bleedthrough contamination;). This system is working really well for cataloging everything. In addition to that I have a Hobonichi Weeks where I use the weekly pages to document all my inky happenings, new pens, ink changes, refills… and on the right side I list the pens for the current week (I use just one color per week in my planners and put together a number of pens with matching inks;). In the monthlies I swatch the inks I put in a pen… just to have a colorful page at the end of it. ;) And in the notes section I have another list area for pens by brand where I just list and cross out… so quite messy, but nice to look back on. I love listing my pens, because that helps me re-discover the ones I might have forgotten over the past couple of weeks or months.
Sounds like a great system! I love the colorful pages from the ink swatching!
I just can't love that tomoe river paper... I try.. but it just feels so thin. Good Luck with your ink swatches. I think your new system looks great. And yes. Please show us what you do on the tomoe river paper.
I'll let you know - I started in the Hobonichi and it is ghosting pretty bad. Which is weird because the ink journal I showed that is a mess is also Tomoe River and it doesn't ghost at all. They did switch the paper a few years ago - maybe I have some old and new in the different notebooks. Rhodia is another paper I like if you haven't tried that.
I love using a water brush with my inks. I sketch something, usually a flower and then soften the lines and move the color with the water brush. It’s sooooo relaxing and fun!!
Great idea! I always forget to paint with my inks - I love that and I love using waterbrushes! Thank you!
I use the Wearingeul Swatch Cards with that little plastic organizer and it’s just great!! I was drawn to it for the same reasons you mentioned. It has worked wonderfully!!!
Yay! I'm glad it's great for you - I'm thinking it will work out for us too.
Nice
Your husband did a nice job with your notebooks.
He really did! We love the covers he made!
I like the covers your husband made way better than the traveller’s 😮😮
Thank you! Me too!🙂
where did you get the little paws on the pen body? I saw on the website and they dont have that feature.
I got mine from Goldspot Pens. I looked and it isn't offered right now. It looks like Endless has it available: endlesspens.com/products/opus-88-twenty_sides-grumpy-kitty-cafe-fountain-pen
I want to see these in person, but I doubt they will be at the London Pen Show. I have the Tortoise, Cobalt and Evergreen and want my next Estie to coordinate somehow. Maybe I need all three!
Yes! Awesome! I'll do an update and show the green one when it gets here. 🙂
Oh gosh.. that is funny... la sigh.. I am sure they will correct it!! I can't wait to see the green!!
They replied to me first thing this morning and put the green one in the mail!
Those are some beautiful pen and ink pairings for fall! Fall is my favorite season as well, so inking up pens during fall is always exciting. 😊 LOVE the Einstein Ring in the Estie Botanical Garden - that looks like such a perfect combination.
The Estie is such a great fall pen with that ink! Thanks for watching!
❤ You are so incredibly artistic ❤
Love you NM <3
@@lidl.doodle ❤️ you most.
thank you!! Such a fun video. Such pretty colors... I got a new pen this weekend... just because I got some new inks and needed another pen to put them in. a Monte Verde
Yay for new pen day! Monte Verde has some great pens! So exciting! Thanks for watching :-)
That sunflower paper pad is gorgeous! What a lovely gem! :) And Blake at Paper Mind is such a lovely person! I also got one of his notebooks! Also got the Yusari notebook haha! That one will be going into my hobonichi covers straight away once I get it. ^_^ Can't wait to use them. That Anubis ink is gorgeous. AND THE LEONARDO!! :) So awesome you went home with the Dionysis! :) Such a beautiful resin on that collaboration. Very happy you got your Broad nib and they do write so phenomenally! Thanks for sharing your experience and haul of the SF Pen show, Toni! :)
Thank you for watching! We had a great time. And oh my, yes that sunflower paper is exquisite! I don't even know if I'm brave enough to use it! lol
Wow, those Leonardos are gorgeous! I prefer the gloss finish myself.
It is so gorgeous! And an amazing writer!
Really nice video and beautiful ink colors. I would like to make a suggestion for future ink swatching... would you mind writing out the ink color name by the swatch? That way if I need to come back to reference a color I would be able to quickly identify it. Thanks again for a great video!
Yes, absolutely! I realized I hadn't done that after I published the video. I will make sure I include the names in the future. I'll update the description on this video and put the ink names. Thanks for watching!
@@lidl.doodle Oh thanks so much! I haven't tried Birmingham inks yet...but that Firebox is right up my street.
Firebox is fantastic! We are loving our Birmingham inks!
I was going to suggest the same thing about the ink names! Thanks for including that in your description. I would also love to see the nib size written too. That way I can see how it performs depending on the width of the nib, when I refer back too! But I’m glad you do mention it in your video.
I think it’s caffe bronze. If you like caffe crema, you have to try coffee monster!
Oooh I'll have to check that out!
You could have used call of cthulu by Metallica. Such a missed opportunity
@@theannoyinghistorian1812 How did I miss that?!? 😭 And I call myself an 80s kid! 🤦🏼♀️
Ahhh the dim sum kitties are soooo cute ahhhhhh!!!
I knowwww!!!! I am obsessed with them!
so sad they don't ship to europe :( great video !
I hope sometime soon - they are amazing inks! Thanks for checking out the video!
You speedball looks like a B2, but its stamped on the nib Qoh you got the massively huge Interstellar Bronze... I have the 100ml. Its a fave. That and Tesla Coil.
Ah, okay thanks! Tesla Coil is on my wishlist - it's fantastic!
loving the more shiny pen
It's a stunner! And it writes so beautifully!
ya know.. I only have like 4 pens and 2 of them are twsbi's and I thought I disliked my broad nib A LOT!! I didn't like how much ink it laid out and it seemed so thick... but I put a new ink in it and I really like it now. That was surprising!! Thank you for showing us your haul. I am going to need to plan a pen show trip someday!! Have a great year!!
The ink makes a huge difference! I'm glad you found something you like!
Great haul! Thanks for sharing! Loved the Schon Dsgn pocket six pen! Also, the ink bottles you showed were from Anderillium Inks.
Ah thanks! I almost had the name right!🙂
Love the music 😂 🎵🎶🔊
I thought it was fitting! I accidentally published the short with the weird filter on it. Doesn't do the ink justice!
Some pretty pens 🥰. I have Gluon on my wish list.
Go for it! Gluon is one of my absolute favorites! It lives in my lime green TWSBI!
loved this! Lots of great ideas!
Thank you! Let me know if you try any of these pages out and how they work for you!
Oooh, pretty pen/ink combos ❤
Love that ink. What a cute name 😊
😂 I love that crinkling sound!
🤣Isn't it funny what some of love vs. what drives some of us crazy?!?!?
I wish we could get these in the UK.
Aww bummer! They are a two full-time employee business so I imagine they have to limit some of their offerings for shipping. Maybe soon!
Why are you covering one page with the green paper, just to show the page that was covered anyway? Seems like a teacher's habit, but the viewers aren't children.😊
Lol, it's a pencil board that I use as a bookmark in my journal. In the video, I was using it to focus on talking about one page instead of a full spread. So it is really for me than anything else. 🙂
@lidl.doodle Ahh, I see. Teachers can be ADD too. Thanks for an interesting video, though.😊
OHHH... sounds like a super fun time!! Thank you for sharing!! I would love to go to a pen show!!
We had a blast! I'm really glad we went - and really excited that we are going to San Fran in August!
❤❤❤
I am a couple years older than you.... 50 looked sooooooo scary... and awful.. but then it comes and you celebrate and then you go on~~ I hope you have a great day and plan a big celebration. I know it is early but Happy Birthday!
Thank you for that. A lot of emotions around milestone birthdays...and deep reflection in mid-life. But I'm thankful for the blessing of aging as opposed to the alternative!
@@lidl.doodle yes.. my father passed away at 61... these things happen!! Party on!
Where do you get your ideas for your zendoodles?
Pinterest - or if you Google zentangle patterns, you'll get a lot of ideas. I teach zentangle in my art classes so I have a lot of stored ideas and handouts for patterns. Sometimes I just start making lines and see where it goes.🙂
46 PENS!! That is a lot!! wow! Very cool. How many inks do you have? Anywho I was wondering if the little fountain pen drawing with the splotch around it in your June 2023 what your pen is inked with journal is a stamp? I love a good stamp! Thank you!!
I know, 46 is ridiculous. We probably have a bit over 100 bottles of ink. Between my husband and I, we use a lot! Yes that is a stamp. It's from everydayexplorers.co They have some super cute stamps!
