Level36 Plays Stationeers - Atmospherics Part 1 | Episode 4
Don't get too overwhelmed by mips. It's actually quite simple. Load(l) set(s) branch(b [goto line name]). With extra bits like Less than (llt, slt, blt) Greater than (lgt, sgt, bgt) Register values are in the chip only and are referred to in equations. R0-R15. Channels that cross networks. 0-7 # = notes Alias sets a name to a register or device. D0-5 are the screws. And if you hover over any command in programming it will give you more information. (Such as how to format the equation.) Blt (branch to c if a<b) r1(a) 1(b) start(c).
Don't need to "create" n20. Mine nitrice. It releases N and N20.
Also worth noting to be careful with liquids. Might go boom at room temp.
Also I kinda want to share someone reviewing my base on RUclips. But, I don't want you to stop streaming stationeers.
Put a pressure regulator before your canisters to prevent explosions. Then set pressure to 8000kpa for normal canisters. And 20,000kpa for smart canisters. Also worth noting the sun does radiate some heat and change the pressure within vessels. Insulated everything is a good standard.
Make canned fries 🍟 instead of baked potatoes. They don't decay. And it's a 2 star food. That gives you 125% hydration max because of it. 3 star foods are 150 or 175% hydration max (unsure which I forget.)
There isn’t “head lift” in the game for liquids so gravity really isn’t an issue. Adding N2 to your water, it will be fine. Just don’t add Vol Pol, N2O or any other liquid with your water. Getting N2O the easiest way is via nitrice. And it too likes to be a liquid. Personally I don’t like using turbo fuel mix. I’ve found it more of a pain to use vs the reward. If you do want to use turbo fuel, keep you N2O pure, no pressuring gas. I’ll let you figure out to work with it. It will teach ya good!
The Playlist is reversed! =)
Hype! and Water!
Congratulations!
Greetings! Always great to see another viewpoint for doing Stationeers. At point 6:20, you seem to have forgotten that the water filler has two forms -- which switches the orientation of the pipes vs the labels inside. Thus, the second form would have worked on the seem between the two windows and been right-side up.
@@mahamasamataman3087 I completely didn't know there was another form! Wow, that would have made that cleaner.
I was expecting an explosion.
Don't bother with showers. Get out of your suit more. Create a separated water ice crusher. I generally for ice gas input, create about 6 ice crushers. So i can run them all at once. Im at 8 min currently. Wth? lol Generally, always use Insulated pipes.
12:56 what gas is missing? I only see 5. Is green N20 or N?
18:11 there is a water filter thing. Not built with atmo kit. Uses charcoal to filter. Comes with it's own problems. Also, if a water pipe breaks, you'll never get all the gases out.
I've got green as N right now. The only gas I haven't separated out is N2O, which I may kind of handle elsewhere since I'm planning on storing it as a liquid. And yeah, I made another ice crusher to handle the ices a bit more automatically.
That's good to know about the filter, I'll have to mess with it at some point. Would I be able to use a purge valve to remove the gas from a water pipe? Or is it not really an issue to have some gas in the system?
@level36 If I remember correctly, the shower won't work with gas in the line for some reason. Otherwise, liquid lines don't care about gas. It's just impossible to remove unless you vacuume the pipes or rebuild. Welcome to obsession! 😆
ruclips.net/video/0yzKhU_0APU/видео.htmlsi=tvIIg9s3Qe0pxT2_ should help with the liquid in the pipes
any reason you did not use duct tape to repair the panels?
Tbh because I'm lazy sometimes and had a bunch of glass sheets laying around.
@@level36 a valid strategy
LMFAO, you have WAYYYYY over thought getting water. To get water on Mars, the Moon and Europa, place water ice in a crusher. If you want to keep the N2 gas, pipe it to a tank. If not place a pipe cowling in the crusher (water ice is 5mol N2, 20mol liquid water, or about 1/2L lThe water will come out in a liquid state. As for the “steam” in the water pipe, it’s more like water vapor. It’s perfectly fine (and preferred) to have it in a water pipe
Yeah, I realized that after recording. Still wanted to show the process, but next week you can watch me rip this whole mess out and just plumb it in with a much more sensible design.
Hype! Ooh yea the water problem! ^-^
Congrats on your first 100 :D May you reach many more milestones in the future.
Woooo!! 🎉
Congratulations
Congratulations on 100 subscribers! I would love som Space Engineers!
I'll be sure to throw that one in the poll.
No water is scary!
i would use an IC chip for your power display. one it will cost 50W for the chip and you can save the code you write to use a different play thru. As well add on additional sub systems to control on the same chip, like cooling, grow lts etc. 2nd LED displays have 3 Modes Mode 0 - integer/number Mode 1 = % "cough-cough" Mode 2 - Power, in Wats. you can easily set the Mode of a display with either logic, or a memory and logic writer. note if you more the display you wall need to change the Mode again If you want to convert your charge display into code: define smbat -400115994 define lgbat -1388288459 define meddisplay -53151617 sb meddisplay Mode 1 start: yield lb r0 smbat Ratio Average lb r1 lgbat Ratio Average add r0 r0 r1 div r0 r0 2 sb meddisplay Setting r0 j start this will give the average of the batteries combined, and will self-adjust if add or remove batteries. If you remove all of one type of battery then you will need to adjust the code to only calculate the Average of the type of battery you have. lastly adjust the code as you need/see fit.
@@BayalinAlamain Thanks for the tips and the code, yeah, I'm going to switch to IC10 control. I like using logic ICs just to show it can be done, since MIPS can be intimidating sometimes, but an IC would have made this simpler for sure. Also thanks for the LED mode info, that's what I was looking for!
Nice and Hype! 😊
Quickest method to get your supplies unhooked from the lander is to just grind it down with the angle grinder. Another tip, I use oxite melted indoors to gas up my environment. I start in the sealed airlock, open my waste gas cylinder, melt some oxite, then open the inner door. The environment should then be warm enough to melt more and so on. Saves filtering and using the oxygen tank gas.
You might want to double check the two pressure regs on the left side. I think they are regular pressure regs, not back pressure ones. After you get your power fixed I’d get deep drills set up. Even with electric centrifuges, it will give you passive ore generation while you work on other things. If you want to use a combustion centrifuge, its VERY good on fuel!!! I had one gas centrifuge fueled by a MK2 tank at 15MPa. After three (irl) days (dedicated server) it had 11.5 MPa fuel still in the tank! I think they use 4 mol of fuel per hr (irl hr)
Thanks for pointing that out, I did some more recording today and checked that, and sure enough they were wrong. Just saved me a lot of trouble later on! One of my goals is definitely to get a deep drill setup going, hopefully soon, dealing with a couple of crises first.
Automation and paved roads are the Hight of Civilization! ^^
Hype!
I was following along and understanding what you’re saying, then if I pause the video the code turns into gibberish…. 🤣
Hopefully it's not too jibberish 😂. In thinking about doing a more dedicated tutorial on how to set the whole system up if that would be something of interest.
@ I actually found a “complete beginner guide” on steam. Now my whole base is being optimized.
Hype! hope you will have a good new year! "The episodes end to fast! (edit)"
Thank you! Hope you had a good new year as well.
While watching this vid, I’m asking myself, when is he going to turn off the labeler…..? That’s where ymthat humming noise is. As well, you might want to remove the N2O move and swap it with liquid. Unless you want to store it at like 159+C N2O LOVES to condense! As low as 1Mpa. It’s also the 2nd best coolant in the game, thermal xfer wise.
I'm asking myself how I never noticed it while making the video! 😆 Thanks for the comment, after looking a bit closer I agree that N2O makes quite a bit more sense to store as a liquid. I'm going to try and set that up!
Thinking about the order of gas filtering. If you do a serial configuration you will end up having only one pipe with leftover unfiltered gas at the end as it's the waste that remained from the very last filtration. If you do a parallel configuration you will have to plumb the unfiltered output of ever filter box thingy into the input again as they can only separate out 1 (2 if you use 2 filters) gas from the mix and the rest of the mix would go to waste which would still include all the other gases that you'd use. That would mean you would also need a filter for gasses that you don't want to filter them out of the shared input pipe. Serial I think is the most efficient way to filter gas... unless they add a filter thingy with more filtered outputs.
Nice!
That labler sound... Ugh.
Quick question on why you use the coal burner instead of the smaller portable gas generator?
To be honest, it's a carryover from when I learned how to originally play the game. I can't entirely remember if it wasn't yet in the game or if it was and just couldn't be easily attached to your station's power grid. All I remember is back then the coal Gen was the way to go in the early game.
@@level36yeah I remember it as well before the portable generator, I was just curious if you had some other reason I couldn't think of or didn't realize it's pretty reliable now. Always felt less realistic to me also, finding and burning coal as opposed to the portable generator lol.
I've been getting that Mark Watney life feeling while playing Stationeers recently I've got to get me some better recipes and ingredients 😂
Same, eventually I'll get there!
I appreciate you spending time explaining how the atmospherics work, but your continuous rapid movement makes it nearly impossible to watch.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that in mind for future recordings!
Hello there also a newcomer to the channel loving the work 👍 sorry to say the active vent can't be programmed but it does make for a useful place to store the data disk though 👍
Yeah, figured that one out. It turns out I didn't really need it in the first place though, so its fine.
@@level36 It always feels like a school day with this game, I guess that's it charm, I know I'm a little behind but I'll get caught up 👍
First off merry Xmas! For condensation of gasses, gasses only condensate if they are both at below max liquid temp (Ie CO2 is -8, Pollutants 152C)at or above pressure relative to the gas chart. Ie Pollutants must be at or above 5.2 MPa at 127 C. You will need to remember this if you want to store/use N2O, cause it like to condense near 1MPa at 20C
Hype! And Happy Christmas! And Hail the almighty algorithm 😂
Thank you Level 36 very cool.
Just picked up the series a few days ago, really enjoying it so far. Thanks for the learning experience.
I'm glad you're enjoying it! I've definitely been learning a lot as I go
Hi...very nice but can I use the sbn commands for this aswell?
You should be able to, I did it without for the sake of performance and ease
Hype! And all Hail the Mighty Algoritm!
Hype!
Factorio??? I'd watch that better yet I'd play factorio with you if it would be possible time zones are a thing but I have dealt with those successfully in the past
@@Cjarka_ I've hosted Factorio servers in the past. Perhaps for a milestone I'll set one up for a subscriber event!
Yay new episode
for a gas to condense into a liquid the pressure must be high enough relative to the temperature of the gas. Ie, at -14C CO2 will condense if the pressure is at least 4147kPa. or at -47C it will condense at 782kPa or more. To prevent it from ever condensing into liquid keep it above its max condensation temp. For CO2 thats -8.1C. Check the graph on the stationpedia for the respective gas. 2nd the MKII tank that has CO2 in it, that you put in a hole, its safe. It wont explode. if you want to get the liquid out of it either open and let some gas out until there's no more liquid, connect it to a tank connector, with liquid pipes attached, or heat up the gas/liquid to over -8 C. Lastly, if you think CO2 is "fun" to work with, mess around with N2O and N2O fuel......
I finally did some reading on the gas system in the game and feel like I understand it more (Somewhat). Thanks for the advice for that tank though, and yeah, N2O is going to be a tricky one, but with the proper precautions I'm sure I can still miss something and blow myself up in a spectacular manner.
You questioning yourself about Iron Frames... Iron Frames cost 4 Iron each, Steel Frames cost 2 Steel, Iron sheets cost 1 Iron each and Steel are 0.5. 200 Steel is produced with 150 Iron. That being said if you take the labor of making Steel out of the equation, Steel should be the only way. Great series so far, I look forward to what you have coming.
@@Noobism75 thanks for the feedback, I didn't actually know about the material cost difference. Now that I have a better way of making alloys steel makes more sense. Thanks for the tip!
@@level36 Thank you for putting this series out. I've learned so much, many things I was afraid to try like automating the 3D printers. You're helping this old man have a renewed love for this game when I was burned out.
Maybe make the elevator go down to the maintenance tunnels?
He might also be able to setup an elevator airlock system.
I thought you could push 4999 through regular cables...
Need a Sith reactor for unlimited power! ^^
Honestly loved watching this Playthrough, won't lie, i have been following aha and learning.
@@W4RS1NC I'm glad your enjoying!
Good Video, With the solar, you could just incase them in a glass room and then they won't be damaged via the storm. (Not sure if it still works tho. )
I believe you're seeing either Phobos or Deimos floating by
For these kinds of games I always pick a name like "Hopes and Dreams" Just in case it is a complete success and I don't destroy it xD
