For all those who took their trunk handle apart, I hoped it worked out for you. For those who held back, here's my 1 - 2 fix.
Honda Fit Stuck Rear Door/ Trunk/ Hatch Latch
Просмотров 276 тыс.8 лет назад
This is not a fix, but shows what the issue with the hatch latch is. I have a 2010 Honda Fit Sport that i just recently bought this week and already this issue pops up. Of course like the rest of the Honda community the search online began. I didnt see too many answers or real fix. But what i did discover myself is ( which isnt mentioned in my video ) is: 1. The spring to push the handle latch ...

The "Chief" and his first RC helo. Doing pretty well, I might add. Plenty of hours on his grandfathers simulator paid off.
Best answer found , thank you
Thank you!!! You deserve all the good karma that is coming your way!
Thank u soooo much! Im watching this video in 2024 in Brazil and it saves me. The only video of this problem.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. I rarely use my trunk because of that stupid little white circle! Please don’t ever delete this lol
Thank you!
I wonder if this trick will also work for my HRV?
This was extremely helpful, thanks! But... you only told us what the problem was, but not what the permanent fix is! Fortunately a lot of folks in the comments pointed out that lubrication is the fix. Let me try some white lithium grease on that thing... mine's a 2008 Honda Fit. Let's see if I can get it to work. I'll come back and mention the result...
😂 You are a life saver thank you video helped out. But I still have to get it fixed by the mechanic. At least I know the issue if too much money I'll deal with it.
Good thanks The reason my door unlocked I just put WD-40 in the one outside handle and it's work perfectly I thank the main reason the lock stop working the rest around the lock
Great explanation, thanks man
My life for the last two years! It's the undependability of it that is driving me nuts!
Thanks dude youre the goat
Thank you man👍
Thank you thank u thank u
Thank you!!! I was able to fix my hatch, which made it so much easier to get the groceries in the back on a rainy day.;)
Thanks a ton. It worked.
Leave it to the PRO. 😂👍
What do you mean by a Pro? A Honda mechanic? I tried and they tell me there is nothing wrong with it; they just lubricated it. I have to lubricate mine weekly.
With such an ongoing problem, I cant believe Honda removed this access door from the newer Honda Fits. I guess they just want us to go to the dealership for all repairs. 3rd Generation fix ruclips.net/video/-YTrKrG8p-o/видео.html
Just repeats the obvious.
Shit worked
Thank you so much! My dumb trunk has been stuck for about a year now and I’ve finally gotten it open. Very helpful video!
dam fool....blow your nose
Dude, super helpful! Thank you!!
Or, just push unlock twice...
Thank you sir!
Thank you so much !! I fixed it in 3 minutes !
Thanks
Thank you so much for this! Want you to know you're still helping people in 2021 💚
2023!
@anniebee760 2024! Good helpful vid! Thanks, OP!
You've helped save my dwindling sanity. Thanks!
A year of loading my fit through the side doors, thank you man hahaha.
Appreciate it man. Literally just happened to me and I was at Home Depot lol
OMG, thank you SO MUCH! Mine was stuck open and I have to make a long drive.
Thank you. Fixed it. Saved me a trip to the mechanic!
I also did this and it solved it. I opened the driver door and kept it open. Then went back and tried the trunk and it finally opened.
My 2009 fit latch will not stay closed! Now, the back interior light won't go out and it keeps killing my battery!!!! UGH!!!!
This Video was VERY Helpful. A Quick Fix 1. Grease The Locking Mechanism In The Door or WD40 will work for awhile. 2. Spray WD40 Into The Door Handle and wipe off the excess ASAP. You see After a few years the lubricant evaporates. MrZerr0
Thanks man
Well, I suppose this can satisfy one's curiosity, but as you say, it doesn't FIX the problem.
I have the same issue. been closing/locking my hatch like this for a year. question for you now is, do you know how to fix the finger pull latch? so it operates like new, and doesn't get stuck in either open or closed positions? Thanks!!!
I tried this a nd ended breaking the whole thing, is it expensive to get fixed ?
Excellent video! Thanks. I can actually listen for it now. When I hit the unlock key I can hear if only my side doors unlock, or if all of them unlock. Thanks again!
This May have been the most helpful video I’ve ever seen
Thanks for making this video! It helped me resolve my door issue.
This issue causes a parasitic draw when left unpushed down ... dealt with this for months.
Prob just some lube?
Just last night I couldn't open the trunk of my 2009 Honda Fit. Found you and pressed the handle down as you said, and it worked!! I was going to go to Honda dealership, and I bet they would have laughed at me and charged me $50.
P.S. Thank you!!
100th comment! I'm facing the same dilemma now.
Thanks! I will check it out later, hopefully this will save me a few bucks paying the car mechanic.
My lock is good, but need to find a black trim piece with or without the Honda emblem. I have 2009 Honda Fit nothing on eBay, might someone have a suggestion to locate this plastic trim?
Thank you Damon Jackson!
