The only time I got love and attention as a child was when I was performing and when I was beautiful, anorexia is a failure on behalf of society as a whole and a persons immediate family. Also being lesbian and growing up in an environment that didn't really acoknowledge my existence and kept people like me hush hush didn't help either. I had to force myself to be with a man which made me feel physically ill.

How come your mom eats with you? My parents used to since we did FBT. But not anymore... I will have a snack even if they aren't... Like you are in recovery so you should be eating more than your mom. It wouldn't make sense to eat like her. You need double if not more than her. Like her lunch seemed bigger than yours... Did you not want more after your snack in the afternoon? 😜

I am hoping too that having less control eventually becomes easier - like I can look at another family member and they'll have one or 2 things, biscuits maybe that they love every day, but other than that they'll just eat whatever is serve or available where I need to need so much thought about it first. I am really grateful for you pointing out that cos I also feel overwhelmed if there is a loss of control you kinda reminded me to keep challenging that as it is necessary and sometimes like a scone the challenge can be a great successful one, so maybe it all balances out. 🧡💛x

You’re a busy bee. It’s really early, because I won’t start until September 2025, but I can’t wait to go to uni as a mature student. To be recovered enough to be trusted to nourish my body and to maintain my intuitive relationship with exercise will be amazing. Only you will know how hard you have worked to get there, but it should be celebrated anyway.

I’m trying to convince myself to start AN recovery. I’ve been in pseudo-recovery for about 3 months. I’ve had an ED for 23 years… I watch videos like this to give me hope! So thank you, and take care. ❤

My biggest struggle of relearning that our bodies need adequate food just to survive is that I've felt physically fine for so long with the ED, it's hard to imagine that it is possible to function better but that's where hope, belief and perseverance comes in 💁‍♀️
