Geon RAW HE Switches are a TRUE upgrade - Tofu 60 Redux Meteorite Gray
It's a known thing that HE keyboards suck in terms of sound when comparing them to traditional mechanical keyboards, but we're finally starting to see some genuine good sounding switches come around. The Geon Raws are the first HE switches I've tried that don't have that chattery sound that's pretty common with other HE switches; I love them and recommend them entirely.
I was initially going to film more footage of the Raptors but from the moment I swapped the switches with the initial config it was already game over for the Raptors.

Hola, que teclado recomendarías por un precio similar al g915x ? Razer , Steelseries, corsair?
did the wooting foam come with the module or did you have to buy it seperatly
Wooting foam came with the module, wasn't a fan. Check out my latest video where I tried 2 different types of foam/insulation.
Hi bro, maybe u can help me: in my case I tried to enable mouse movement in zmk firmware, but in didn't compiled, can u suggest good tutorial?
I really want one of these but I don't want to make it on my own where can I go to get one made?
This came from typeractive, it had minimal assembly compared to some of the other kits out there. Didn't even have to solder, since I bought no solder headers. If you want a fully assembled kit, you can get those from various sites, I always like to refer people to xcmkb.com/ They build my Sofle split keyboard. I have it as another video on my channel.
Hi there at 9:01 what are the binds for the left and right side of the thumb keys that look like periods? (I'm copying everything :))
Sorry for the delay, on my default layer the keys next to layer keys on the left are plus and equals, holding on for plus and tapping for equals, on the right it's tap for hyphen, hold for underscore. Hope this helps!
Thank you! Definitely going to use it when building mine!
Look into ZMK studio, they just released and I hear you don't have to flash like you do this way. Immediately outdated my video 😂
@@heyitspete9890 Yes I saw it too, typeractive team is updating their repo to support it now ;) But the video is still helpful for the layout tips
Where did you get the CF plate for the Wooting?
I got it from Divinikey, they sourced it from KBDFans.
As a long-time user of the 915, I find a major update significant. The keys' secondary functions are now backlit, which is fantastic for someone like me who often types in the dark.
hey, where to buy one that isnt sold out ?
Last I checked best buy still had them in stock, I think I even saw this this week. Hopefully you have a best buy near you!
I have a Logitech Keyboard in my office, wireless. It was allways ok and good. Then I destroy it due to my fault after 2 years of use. So I ordered the exact same model again, I was happy with ist so I liked to have teh same. So I did and what I get was a higher price and a very very much samler battery inside. The bat stays only 2 days, the previous min 1 week normally 2 weeks. So my trustment to Logothech is not high any more
While everything else has stiffened, what I noticed is the power button on the keyboard is wobbly on the G915 X than the G915 which was stiff (at least on my board).
Choc keycaps have no snap in? Like the proprietary caps on the OG G915 had little hooks on the two prongs but the choc caps just go straight down (from what I can see). So how do they even stay in place?
I don't think most have a snap in, MX switches don't have that either they just sit in and are tight enough to be held in place when inserted.
@@heyitspete9890 Hmm, interesting, the more you know. Thx for the info and getting back. :D
Summit is more for typing while the other one is for gaming
how do you not mention thats new version uses USB C and not Micro USB like the old version. That itself has been the single reason for many not buying it.
Uh... I did...the chapter is named charging cable/connection.
@@heyitspete9890 you are right. i apologize
@@misael4096 No worries! I know it's a long video, appreciate you watching!
I am so glad they addressed the key wobble! I've always hated by current 915's loose feeling keys. Going to have to get the new one. Also, the new one has USB-C! Finally!
Hello, is the X compatible with the PS5? OG wasn’t :/
There's no mention of it so I assume it isn't.
Logitech falling behinde they are tryting to push old stock on people before actually releasing the new thing
Thank you for your video ! Do you think to review the falchion rx low profil in comparaison ?
Probably not, but after reading I think it has the exact same issues as the Logitech, and more too. The switches aren't hotswap and the keycaps are entirely proprietary, you can't swam them out with any MX keycap. Also sacrifice the media keys and volume roller for a touchbar, I feel like the touchbar wouldnt be as intuitive to use as the roller. If you could only pick between the two, I would choose the 915. Or save some money and go with the logitech 515. I think even the polling rate on the falchion was worse than Logitechs.

Thank you for the Video, i search for exact this. Greetings from Germany ;)
i love the full size keyboard because it has so many macro keys and it has the num pad
I hear ya, personally I don't use macros on regular keyboards all that much, mostly on my ergo split boards where I can make any key or layer specifically for macros.
Hi, I've bought G915 x linear but sometimes RGB is changing color. Idk why because i've programmed my 3 build-in memory. Is it a software issue? I dont see any review speaking about it. & if the computer is off, & if the keyboard is 'on' as the previous version G 915 it shut off, but it also, if I touch the keyboard, it wakes up and doesn't go back to sleep. Same problem for my G915 full. My Asus Rog Azoth never did that and always sleep or unsleep & detect that the computer is off & shut off immediatly.
915x is not an upgrade, it's a fix.
Improvements are usually an upgrade be it from Amazon complaints to feedback submissions.
Beautiful board. Nice to see someone else use QWERTY.
Logiteches Marketing is mostly BS , most of their KB are not hot swapable so if u have one faulty key you are stuck or need to open the whole keyboard to work on that, and its hard to find these switchess.
I think your escape key is upside down?
...no... Not any more ....
think you might want to do more reserach before you make another video
Whas there anything in specific that you felt I missed or got wrong? Someone mentioned key mapping and macros, I skipped over them but did mention the customizability through Ghub.
Great stuff! How are you liking the tenting solution?
I love it, I'd like to experiment with more tenting solutions but I'm at the point prefer tented over nontented when using my corne.
Dint know it can sound so good!
in the video, the brushed aluminum looks darker, more black, on the new one compared to the previous version. Is that just due to lighting in the video or can you confirm if the colors are the same?
I also thought it looked slightly darker than the original model, others online seem to agree as well.
been looking to update my peripherals. im coming from a SteelSeries apex 7 tkl. not sure if you know anything about that keyboard, but do u think it's a viable upgrade to this one.
How much do you want to spend and what do you find important to you? Gaming, wireless connectivity, sound, feel, material build?
@heyitspete9890 200 is my cap. Id prefer wired. tactility, sound, and comfort for gaming and occasional work r my main concerns
@@brobob52 been using g915 for almost 5 years , love this kb how it works, but had issue like for a month where one of my switch stopped working, since its not hot swappble had to open the whole chassy, desoter the key and took one of my g key as dono key resotered it , now it works fine , but I am thinking to change keyboard too, Id fo ROG azoth extream but 500 is too much how good the quality is. I have been using Logi from 2016 they are not bad brand but something they do are not great , like making keys not swappble, and hard to find the same switches or key caps. This time if I wanna get something new, I want to have controll on my prepherials rather than 4-5 key dies I have to throw it in the trash than trying to fixing it or modding it XD , I have been looking on ROG claymore or maybe wooting.
@@brobob52 I do love their mice reason I eve got g915 in 2020 , top of their line back then ngl quality is still good , got over 6 mice form them too 2 headset yeti mic and Stream cam , but not sure for the next kb
I think it is an upgrade in sound alone. I have the Apex 7 TKL aswell and it sounds so, SO bad, which is because of the switches. The board also do not have any media control except that stupid button and roller on the top right. All around a terrible keyboard and I think an upgrade is worth it, you don't have to get the lightspeed version of the G915X
was waiting for them to add usb c for so long
Best review
So logitech saved some money by using universal keycaps giving customers flexibility to switch keys, but you still can't hotswap the switches. Pretty unfortunate knowing your going to buy a keyboard for $200 only for the key caps lube to go out in 3 years, and you can't fix that because the friggin switches are soldered on. Still bothered they never lit up the special characters on the old, glad that changed.
I just did my old one today, man almost 30 screws and the desoldering for me was night mare ( never doen before) used it for almost 5 years now I think I will get new KB , but no more logitech, like you pay 260euro for a KB and its almost anti consumer ,, I do love g915 for the silence and tlk things but never more.
Well technically the only complaints were the micro USB port and the odd shape of the switches, so I'd have to listen to users if they did. But half a year ago I bought the G915TKL tactile and seeing what the new version brings, it doesn't really catch my attention at the moment, maybe in 2 years I'll buy it, otherwise the one I have will break.
You should have mentioned the software improvement where you can change all keys through KEYCONTROL
Fair enough, I think I mentioned the customizability options using G-Hub but didn't go further into it. From my end I don't see too much value in remapping 60% boards and above, though the macros could be helpful.
@@heyitspete9890in Germany i Have to Decide between g515 100€ and g915 x 220€ , What would You pick?
Looking into this now.
@@heyitspete9890 would You pick g515 or g915 x?
Is the G515 you're looking at wired or wireless? In the US the wired one is $100 and the wireless is $140, meanwhile the 915x wireless is $199. Honestly comparing both, I would probably save some money and go with the 515 wired to save some money or wireless if you prefer that. The main difference I'm seeing is the 515 is an all-plastic build where the 915x has the top aluminum (But to be honest that aluminum plate is such like a half measure, I would prefer an all-aluminum construction, or just keep it all plastic) I think the overall profile is also slimmer. Also missing are the media keys and volume roller found in the 915x model. If neither the build material or the media keys are that important to you I would go with 515.The 515 uses the same switches and keycaps as the 915x, has USB C, and retains all the customizability through key control. The 515 has the same problems that I mentioned in my video as the 915x, but at the price point you can be much more forgiving.
I got the G915 X TKL and I like it, also have the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL, while that one got hot swappable switches, I don't like the slow input delay when the keyboard is on idle for sometime, I just want the keyboard to respond quick without the need to double press a key to wake it up, and I want a low profile keyboard, so which one are my best option for a more updated keyboard then? Because I am still in my return windows for the G915 X TKL and bought it for €155,-
I just watched a video on the Razer, I can't say I ever had those issues with the G915, with or without Ghub being installed on my computer, that's crazy, and such a high price too. Initially when I read your comment, I thought you meant it was slow to wake the computer itself up, but from the video I just watched it looked like if they keyboard itself just goes idle and into a sleep mode, that's when you experience this delay/slow wake up, is that right? I wish I could give you a better recommendation, but the G915 is the only low profile gaming keyboard I've used, all my other gaming boards have been full size switches so I can't give you recommendations on boards I haven't tried myself. If I were to get a low-profile board today, I'd probably get one of Lofree's boards, specifically because I already have a dedicated gaming keyboard (wooting). There is one keyboard I'm interested in looking into that I may purchase to try out, check out the Nuphy60 HE, sorry I couldn't give you an actual recommendation!
Asus Rog Azoth no imput lag or new G915 x. I actually have the full G915 (Gx brown) for almost 2 years+. Perfect for everything (work & gaming).
@ I know, did also look at the G915 X but the full-size is just to big for me, I mostly playing fps games and use the keyboard for one day work from home. And I am working on IT and never use the numpad so I am fine with a TKL. Did return my G915 X TKL today btw and did order the white version, because you don’t see the letters and symbols without backlight on the black one.
@@Rem0n89 Good to know. Did u pick the linear or tactil version? I would like to try the Gx red (G915 x TKL). That's sound perfect for gaming.
@ I had the Deathstalker 2 Pro TKL before with red linear switches, but I did miss some feeling when typing and using fps games. So I did go for the tactile this time, and I like the feeling and sound when typing and gaming.
After using scissor keyboards mainly, I find tha original G915 a bit diffucult to type on, and do a lot of typos. Do you think the X is better because of the slightly shorter travel?
In terms of typing feel, aside from the less wobbly keys they felt pretty much the same, if you didn't like the experience with the original you likely won't like it on the new either. They have the Logitech MX keys S that are similar to scissor switches, no? Probably not ideal for gaming but closer to that kind of experience. I have seen a site selling scissor switches in the past but not sure how available they are on the custom side of things.
@@heyitspete9890 I use it mainly for programming and need the full ins/del/etc. block, and TKL. This narrows down my choices drastically... I miss my DiNovo :'(
@@okosakaroklenni Had to look it up since I've never heard of the DiNovo that's a funky looking keyboard! (That's a good thing hahaha) And ahh, I see yeah the mini is a 75% so it would be missing the nav cluster. Something to look into! I like the typing feel of scissor switches, I was using an Apple Magic Keyboard recently at work, I liked using it but missed my Corne.
Wow you weren't kidding, like I'm not finding anything that's not either 75% or 100%.
@@heyitspete9890 I feel old now :D In ints time it looked high-tech, and those keys. Still among the best with the lenovo ultranav (the non-chiclet version). I would literallly pay any amount for a g915 looking keyboard with keys like those. Btw have you tried the cherry mx ultra low profile? Building a custom kb with those might be my best bet.
Nice keyboard but jesus.... logitech pricing has GONE OFF THE RAILS.
I have the G613. For the past year it has the double typing issue which I’ve read the 915 has as well. Have you read or experienced that? I need another but weary of doing another Logitech due to that issue.
In the time I've had it I've never experienced that issue, I let a buddy borrow it before getting it back for this video and they didn't have that problem either. There was a point where I swear my f row wasn't working but everything seems to be working fine now. No firmware updates available through G hub?
@@heyitspete9890 I should have mentioned the timeframe, I had mine for little over a year before the issue started which of course was after warranty. Others online mention same thing if you search G915 double typing. How long have you had yours? Some say it has something to do with the G roma keys…. No update available, I’m on the latest. Some mention it could be an easy firmware update but Logitech isn’t acknowledging the issue so no update for it from them.

Speeding up the big music while the video was sped up was weird in my opinion too. re-recording or just editing what you spoke at normal speed over the speed up footage might’ve been nice, even though it might’ve been hard to match to the sped up video.
