What's going on guys, in this video I used the Hot Water Method to break-in a glove and see if water was actually good for a baseball glove. The glove in this video was made out of elk and bison leather, so I was not exactly sure how the water would react with the leather. Thankfully it was not damaged.

What was your recruiting journey like?
Not paying all that money for bison.. seems as stiff as pigskin which doesn’t work for baseball gloves…. No kid is gonna want to spend 4 times as long to try and break their glove in when they can spend 350 and get a A2k or heart of the hide instead .. hell u can get a pro preferred for around same price..
I will admit the bison is very different. Yes it is a little heavier, but for some people they may like a heavier feeling glove. The Bison does however make the glove feel a lot more genuine and like a solid glove.

I didn’t even play high school baseball and I’m 26 and I want to try college baseball at any level just out of love for the sport, to compete, and get a new career path or advance in my current one at the same time as playing and having a good time. Would I be able to as a 27-28 year old? I’m taking time now to get ready physically, so I’m hoping I’m still eligible with my age being older.
It doesn't matter what age you are, if you have eligibility and you have what it takes to play college baseball, someone will give you an opportunity!

Interesting, I've thought about that a little bit for this offseason.
@@Heidethrowz The secret is bodyweight, not even more muscle per se. I don't know of anyone who managed to significantly increase their velo in a short time period without also adding some weight to their frame.
@@r0nchmeister right. I'm already 210. maybe adding some more weight wouldn't hurt.
@@Heidethrowz yah I think it's more about your weight relative to your height that matters, not weight in absolute numbers. so both short and all people benefit from more weight because you're adding torque. torque = radius (your arm length) * force (mass*acceleration) * angle of throw. you can't control the angle you throw at, cuz you have to aim in one direction, or your arm length. but you CAN add mass.

Just got my oldest son the 12.75 green and black colorway. Can't wait to break it in and form it. My daughter has the softball prime version and it's great. Mizuno really is 🔥. Their pro gloves are ridiculously good

I have Mizuno Pro, Rawlings HOH and Wilson A2000. The best and my favorite glove is with no doubt, the Mizuno.
I started slo pitch this year. Haven't played since I was a kid. I bought a mizuno varcity and it is the floppiest POS I have ever used. Yes it is a cheaper glove, but my wifes rawlings, which was the same price is far better.
I'm trying out a Rawlings Fielder Glove soon. I'm excited to compare the two brands!
@@Heidethrowz I have never tried a mizuno before I got this one, but have tried on a couple in the store, and they are much stiffer. The one I got is like playing with a silicone oven mitt.

The way I have no idea what game is getting played
I got a custom Pro 44 glove made and honestly, I hate it. I broke it in like I did my Wilson A2000 and my Rawlings HoH. the glove just feels weird! Also, I ordered a 11.75" infield model, and I compared it to my Rawlings and Wilson and it's like half an inch longer for some reason. which also makes it feel really weird and floppy. Also, the thumb stiffener feels like it is not long enough. like it is in a glove half an inch too big for it. Honestly it is a bummer. I was really excited for this glove, and it just feels really weird and that is before comparing it to my, Wilson and Rawlings. needless to say, I don't think I'll ever get another 44 for my collection. Not without major improvements on their part anyway. In a recent video I heard Ball Glove King say they're quality has dropped badly lately. That is my experience anyway, I hope others have fared better.
No I 100% agree, their quality has dropped. I've noticed many of my buddies talk about the same things. But when you mass produce custom gloves, its hard to ensure the quality of every single glove. Not giving them an excuse, but its the reality. Wilson and Rawlings also deal with the same thing. Eventually, it could become a much wider issue.
I will say, I have a 12” GGE & a 12” A2K and the A2K soooo much bigger next to the GGE
@@TimothyWenger My goal is to do a review of an A2K at some point and compare it to the A2000. The A2K is very interesting.
@ very. I have a A2K B23 12” pitcher glove and like a Winter 2024 A2K 1810 12.76” outfield glove and they’re two of my favorites

@@Heidethrowz oh I know, it's amazing how they design gloves over there. I just got my 15 yr old and a2k d33 for pitching and I must say, it is worth the price. My younger son will need a new pitchers glove soon and I'm torn now on what to get.

Sorry for the late response, I do not know a video off the top of my head you can use to re-lace it yourself but I can direct you to people who can do it for you for an affordable price!
@Aheidemann all good, I took my time and figured it out. In the last 3 weeks I've relaced all 6 of my gloves. 3 Rawlings, 2 Wilsons amd 1 SSK.
