A GINORMOUS GUTTER POOL: 16 HOUR round trip for a LOAD of SHOTCRETE.
We traveled roughly 8 hours north to Minot, North Dakota for a big remodel on a huge pool. 45 yards turned into 90 yards real quick once we started laying the mud down.

This shorcrete mix was POPPIN’ but have you heard of bentonite?
So many videos of people trying to hold the hose while blowing out like this. Never works super dangerous with that metal end flying around 20+ feet off the ground. Now you know glad no one was hurt. Also that stupid idiot West Cost Pumping is gonna use your video now😂
What do you do for washout on the below freezing days out there? Im trying to come up with a heating system for my tank on the truck, but its a bit "challenging". Was also thinking of dumping a few gallons of RV antifreeze in the tank. Thoughts?
I have a 12v transfer pump that feeds my pressure washer. When it’s freezing, I hook the transfer pump to my 60 gallon tank and let it run all day. Moving water can freeze but it’s gotta pretty damn cold and I haven’t had an issue doing it this way for a couple years. I considered trying some rv antifreeze, hooking up a power inverter and running a bucket heater into my tank to heat the water, and I’m trying to get some permission to fill up my tank at the ready mix plant since they have scorching hot water on hand.
@ConcretePumpingService I've got a 120 gallon tank, and a 6gpm 12v transfer pump feeding my pressure washer as well. I put 2 gallons of RV antifreeze in a full tank a few days ago and cycled it through all the lines. It got down to 8-10° for 3 nights in a row with a high of 30-35° daytime, and nothing froze. Lowe's had it on sale for $4/gallon so I bought 4 cases (16 gallons). Just fyi, it worked without having to recirculate it. 🤷🏻♂️
I was stressed out for all 1:09 of this video 😂😂
Don’t beat yourself up we all get a little cocky about priming out and then we don’t think we’re ever gonna have a problem until we do
I don’t think I would have been as cocky if it was a normal mix. 95% of the time I could prime with just water on shotcrete. A short 75’ and the mix talked me into it! 🤣
That prime out stressed me out
Caleb, what was the arrangement with regards to pump/labour/finishing on this one? Did you guys supply pump + labour, and the finishing was done by the Florida crew?
I got called for just the pump to begin with but they called me a day later and asked if I could get a pool crew of at least 4 to shoot and cut and 2 of the 4 to finish (I volunteered myself to run nozzle if need be but I never had to). So I agreed to pump, supply a pool crew of 4 with 2 of them being able to finish and tools (trowels, scrapers, etc.) PB supplied 2 more finishers and like 6-8 laborers.
We learn from our experiences.
Absolutely! Another perk of filming yourself while you work.
Buster Pluggs showed up again.
Right when I didn’t need him!
I didn't authorize this video!
🤣🤣🤣
Great guys but sometimes having more hands trying to help completely screws up the workflow. Nice job dude.
There was probably 14 guys working on the pool and only 6 of them knew how to shoot/scrape/finish. The other 8 were just laborers. Still amazed we got it done in one day and it looked as good as it did. There weren’t really any plans and there wasn’t much of a meeting to bring everyone on the same page.
Made me laugh 😂😂

Bragging rights? I thought u were married lol
How did you suck myles through the hose without the help of air compressor?
Dang those Alliance outriggers open quick! That’s nice! On our putz and Schwing takes like 10 minutes lol. I’m not sure if they are adjustable to open quicker..
I thought it was pretty neat that he could run both at the same time and the speed at which they come out didn’t change!
@15:23 what you guys talking about right there.. we just sold a 28m putz with Zboom. It had rear outriggers that went straight down. Sooo nice! I miss that 28m I learned so much on it.
We were talking about a 20m and using it as a line pump as well! Someday I’ll be able to get my hands on a controller and run one 😁
“It’s easy, until it’s not” Words of a wise pumper right there 👌👌👌
That not me running that what the heck !
We are definitely going to make that happen this coming year 💪
Look at that steady stream...my hose guys are spoiled
I’d say!
I saw 3 sizeable boxes on the side of a road. All 3, adult diapers inside
Ahhhh man! What a bummer! At least you’ll be set when you need them 🤣
Man what a day sometimes you just get lucky
Blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while!
Thats a nice find
Heck yeah 👊 I’ve been wanting one for awhile! Driver left one at a job site one time but the concrete guys said they would give it back since they see them every other day .
Nothing better than free shit
Nothing beats free shit you can actually use regularly.
Just yesterday i came across a brand new milwaukee 2-1/2 lb steel mallet, just laying in the intersection, everyone driving around it. Everyone honked in appreciation as i ran put to grab it. Still had the pricetag on it too
The universe rewards those who pay attention!
Sometimes that’s how I’ve gotten some of my stuff
I’ve found TONS of stuff on the side of the road! I always got my eyes peeled.
@ glad you’ve gotten it also look into State sales what people are selling out of their house, including the home of known a couple people that’s passed away and varies of different ways and when they didn’t sell everything a couple times people has given me whatever was left except the house or anything really really big like appliances or look into buying abandoned storage buildings or also people that own the storage buildings would probably pay people to clean out the storage units if they’re not selling the units already in my favorite is the holidays at the big change stores stuff that go on sale or stuff that was bought from businesses like what I’m talking about big chain stores like Home Depot and Lowe’s and it was returned because it wasn’t like how the people thought it was when they bought it. It was the one that they thought they needed I’ve heard of people doing that buying the same thing what they have at home and switch them out, you gotta be careful when you’re buying stuff that’s been returned, but you can buy it at discount price because it’s open box policy the store can’t sell to you for the same price after someone else’s bought it and returned it or sometimes also businesses that’s going out of business. I bought some appliances like five years ago from a business year in Huntington where I live called Mac & dave’s I paid the deposit to get the stuff delivered to my house made a couple payments. Didn’t know it at the time, but Mac & Dave was going out of business. One day, I called to make my payment towards my appliances, and I was told by the people that answered the phone that they wasn’t taking no more payments on the stuff that I bought from them I could keep it and there was no one else that would be able to take my payment and I actually went to the business and looked for myself and yes they were closed. It was a pawnshop here in Huntington. That’s been open since the early 70s and these newer mom and pop, smaller pawnshops was taking anything and offering more money, but these newer ones didn’t have the stuff like what Mac & Dave did and they didn’t deliver and all of them did not offer financing like what Dave did and they didn’t have appliances and furniture that was all new and they were like a small furniture store, electronics and appliances plus a Pawnshop after a couple times of doing business there, they would always remember your name if you brought business
I got a three year ladder need a small repair but it’s free and it’s perfect and was expensive. Gained many tools this way and saved a lot of car damage as well . Raids tools always need cleaning up tho 😂
Love the chute scoop
I’ve been wanting one for a while!
So far I have found a big wedge engineer's sledgehammer, a little anvil, and a very nice pair of flippy pliers on the street. Saw a broken dewalt impact once, but broken 😮
I’ve found a handful of 25ft 2” ratchet straps! Once found a GoPro but it was super old, like a GoPro 3 or 4.
Best place to get a chute tool.
Its like mario cart irl.
U dropped that
You caught me. I threw it out and made myself jog a quarter mile on the interstate just for a video.
Kicker its was his
You got me. I took the time to throw it out, drive around, forget where “I dropped it”, drive 1/4 mile by it and make myself go back and grab it just for a video.
You lucky bastard ! lol Happy holidays!
My eyes are always looking for ground scores! Happy holidays!
Outrigger pads are my favourite roadside freebies..
Oh that would be a waayyyyy better find!
Good find !
👊
Was hoping you knew what it was, didn't disappoint
I’ve seen them once or twice 😎
@@ConcretePumpingServicelol. With a truck full of pump hoses and slick line, I would think so.
Do it slowly
I bought the same tank by itself.. it's been outside for about 8 months. I know im going to run into some rust. How would I know if the metal (bottom of the tank)is too thin due to the rust corrosion?. I have 2 kids, i would hate for this thing to be a ticking time bomb
Yeah🎉
Merry Christmas!
the best part about getting money is spending money
Darn right!
Nice video man! I really like that set up looking to get a pump like yours love how it can pump every mix with no problem 👍🏽
Thank you! Hands down most versatile pump out there. I think upgrading from the Olin is a great idea! Remember when you switch to a S tube or rock valve pump, you won’t be able to fully washout into the truck. You’ll always have some extra sitting in the bottom.
@@ConcretePumpingServiceniceee now I understand and it really makes sense i appreciate the little advice !
Was that Cressit you were spraying the pump down with? I've been using it and it works pretty good.
Spattercote 100 Xtra!
@ConcretePumpingService yep, I've got a 55 gallon drum of it. Not cheap, but it definitely works!
How is your pump doing with 3/4 rocks ? I’m seeing that you pumping 3/8 or pea gravel normally
3/4” crushed rock is hit or miss. The plant has to have that mix dialed in. I have 2 videos “pumping concrete like the big dawgs” and “pouring rain but that doesn’t stop a 300’ pump”, that is all at one job (ended up pumping 650ish yards) and that was a 3/4” crushed quartz mix. The mix I’ve used in the past is a 3/8” crushed quartz chip mix. It tends to be about $25-35$ more per yard depending on what supplier they use. Recently I’ve been getting a 1/2” crushed quartz mix that has been pumping beautifully and is now my go to mix to tell contractors to order. Now if we get a natural stone mix, I’ve pumped 1” natural stone multiple times and it has went well every time.
@ Thank you for responding Sounds like my pump is getting weak, l have to put the mix at 8 inch slump to be able to go through the 4” to 3” reducer but now on I’m going to ask my costumers to get 3/8
Where you getting those hose caddy’s with the strap
The other profile to comment on this video, Mud Demon. Go reply to his comment and ask away! I am not sure if they are available for purchase yet.
Your job is easy ..show up lay out the hose press the button...watch the guys run the hose...nothing to it....
Only difference between what he considers what I do easy and what he does hard is he holds the hose. Literally the only difference.
We need to get you some 3 inch hose
The last thing I need to do is add another size. My garage only has so much room!
