Moving Our Mind
Великобритания
Добавлен 17 июл 2023
My name is Jim and I am passionate about hiking and mountains ❤️🥾⛰
The overall goal is to continue doing many more summits and hikes all over the world as well as grow the channel to 1000 subscribers.
I have suffered with Tinnitus and Depression for many years so I started this project to try and help me deal with it better by getting myself outdoors.
When I’m not working I try to get outside and experience the world in different ways - I will create short films on this channel to document the journey all filmed in 4K (2xHD).
I plan on doing more adventures in the future and there are also events where people are welcome to join - these events raise money for various charities and I have raised some good amounts over the years for Dementia UK, Birmingham children’s hospital and the Autistic Society.
The channel is dedicated to the memory of my Mum who sadly passed away in January 2023 from Dementia. God bless x

Hiking Ironbridge Gorge in England
A 7 mile circular hike around the world heritage site of Ironbridge Gorge. It was boxing day and there was alot of low level cloud and some fog but I made my way to Shropshire to walk off the Christmas food and get some fresh air.
Parking is available at the Wharfage car park for a fee of around £3 for 5 hours - the postcode is TF8 7NJ. More parking details for the area are here:
www.telford.gov.uk/info/20686/car_parks
The route I took is available on All Trails. Be aware it is quite muddy around the 3 mile mark depending on rainfall and the time of year:

Hiking Stanage Edge in England
Просмотров 13721 день назад
An out and back 8 mile hike along the escarpment in the Peak District of England. It was a little cold and overcast but there were also some clear spells so I headed up to the Peak District to tackle this quality hike. There are some cracking views from the top of the cliff and a sweeping landscape awaits where you can also visit Robin Hood's cave - a place where he hid from the law back in the...
Hiking Wenlock Edge in England
Просмотров 92Месяц назад
A 6 mile circular hike along Wenlock Edge in Shropshire. It was a decent day for hiking so I made my way to Shropshire to take on this limestone escarpment which is rich in history. The trail is quite boring to start and especially if you follow you All Trails on the way back along the same route - the best bet is to divert at the Wenlock Edge sign and take a left on to higher ground, by doing ...
Hiking The Lawley in England
Просмотров 139Месяц назад
An 8 mile circular hike taking in the summit of The Lawley and the surrounding area in Shropshire. It was a little windy and overcast but the rain held off in the most part so I made my way to Shropshire to tackle the hike. Parking is free on a first come-first serve basis. There is only room for about 10 cars so if you do the hike I would make sure you arrive around 9am, I arrived at 10.30am a...
Hiking Shutlingsloe in England

An 8 mile circular hike to the summit of Shutlingsloe and the surrounding area. The weather was very cloudy and it was quite dull but the rain held off in the most part so I made my way to the Peak District to tackle this hike. It is a shame I never managed to see the Matterhorn-esque shape of Shutlingsloe due to low level cloud but it was still good to get out and get some fresh air. Parking i...

Hiking The Welsh Three Peaks in Wales

I took on The Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge which involves summiting Pen Y Fan, Cadair Idris and Snowdon in a 24 hour period. There is also around 7 hours of driving involved so it is quite an intense challenge - especially Cadair Idris and Snowdon which are tough mountains. The weather was good to me and the rain held off on both the Saturday and Sunday. I first made my way to Pen Y Fan on the Satur...
Hiking Thorpe Cloud in England

A short hike to the summit of Thorpe Cloud and a circular walk around the village of Thorpe in the Peak District of England. The weather was pretty poor all day but I made my way to the Peak District to tackle a short peak and walk to try and get some practice in for the Welsh three peaks challenge. Hiking Pulpit Rock in Norway

A superb 6.5 mile hike to the summit of Pulpit Rock in the magnificent Norway. The weather was pretty poor but it didn't deter me from making the 2,000 foot ascent through the steps, rocks and forest and up to the summit. The Pulpit Rock is a major attraction in Norway especially for hikers and it is estimated around 300,000 people visit the destination each year. The route I taken is available...
Hiking Gaustatoppen in Norway

A hike to the top of Gaustatoppen in Norway on a beautiful, clear and sunny day. This was hike 3/3 on my Norway trip and it was quite tough after previously doing 21 miles and 600 miles of driving on the previous 2 days, but it was worthwhile as the views were spectatcular. From the top of Gaustatoppen you can see 23,000 sqaure miles and 1/6th of Norway - truly magnificient! The original plan w...
Hiking Trolltunga in Norway

A 14 mile hike to the summit of Trolltunga in the amazing country of Norway. I have wanted to go to this country for a number of years and finally got there to take on 3 hikes - this was the one of them at the popular location of Trolltunga which is near Odda. The Trolls Tongue has 3 main start points at P1, P2 and P3 with distances of 23, 18 and 14 miles respectively. I was only in Norway for ...

A hike around the glorious Panorama Mountain in Llangollen which involved alot of different terrain including roads, mountain paths, rocks and ferns. The route never took me along the cliff edges unfortunately but I will be back t...

A hike to the summit of the magnificent Cadair Berwyn in Wales. It was a nice day in the most part but a little windy at times so I made my way to Powys in Wales to tackle the mountain and view the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall which is one of the seven wonders of Wales. Be aware that the last 4 miles along Waterfall street is really tight when driving to the parking place so be careful. I...

@@movingourmind you too mate I'll be keeping an eye out for new videos. Thanks for healing a little bit of my homesickness 👍🏻
@@bootneck4828 No problem. It’s a great place Llangollen 👍
I had no idea the SWCP generated so much money and employed so many. Great stats and I enjoyed your video. Looking to start the SWCP soon myself and could take many visits over the coming years to complete
Yes they are crazy stats for sure. Thanks very much for watching Andrew. All the best with the SWCP 👍
Great vid, really enjoyed - will you be doing more on the SWCP? It's interesting the numbers that come from all of these apps and watches etc. Seems like you get a different answer from every one. I plotted it on GAIA GPS and got 10.14 miles and 1127 ft, the SWCPA said 9.3 and 1830, my fit bit said 9 and 1340. Seems like your Apple Watch is an outlier but take your pick from the rest. It would be nice to know though!
Thanks a lot my friend - glad you liked it. It’s a strange one with the Apps and watches etc but hey the main thing is getting out there. For sure on the SWCP - St.Ives to Penzance next year if I’m still around. All the best 👍
Glastonbury Tor is one of the most beautiful places to see in the UK a place where Pagans and Christians both pay homage
Yes it sure is a beautiful place 👍
Excellent video, thanks! Ive done the 3 peaks twice, in very different conditions. All the best to you.
Well done for doing it twice! All the best 👍
WOW WOW WOW
Thanks Michal. Appreciate the feedback. All the best 👍
Nice little walk mate...we did it a few months back...gotta love Exmoor.
Yes it really is a great place 👍
Looks really good, I like the videography too !
Thanks Ali 👍
Really nice video, one of my favourite hikes !

No problem buddy. I would love to go to Japan one day - I really hope I can! All the best - will check out your channel! 👍
Hello Jim. I watched your new vid a couple of hours ago. Started to comment but it got lost. That was really good mate. Everything now is at it's peak so green and lush. Beautiful place and great drone shots. Your vids are good and I think this one is your best. Sorry to hear your dad passed away over 20 years ago, think you said 24. My mother 11 years ago. 15 miles👏👏 I've had powerbanks and phones die on me. This is a good video😉👍
Thanks very much for the comment Jamie - glad you liked the video. Yes it’s looking lovely at Cannock Chase in summer. Yes, 24 years for my dad - had a lung disease he was only 54. My mum passed away at 79 with dementia - it was really tough 😢 Sorry to hear your mum passed away too x Enjoy your videos too. All the best, Jim 👍
