    Hello, Thank you so much for your video! I have a question regarding the app. In your video, the app design appears updated, but the Android app link you provided is for an older version. Could you please let me know how you managed to install the version with the new design and the full list of parameters? Currently, in my app, only the first and second items appear under the parameters section.

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 2 дня назад

      I was using an iPad in the video, which could be some of the difference. I don’t use Android often, but the link for the Android app is the most recent one that I am aware of that is fully unlocked and compatible with almost all the models. The BMS should come with a barcode to download the version to be used with that specific BMS, but they usually have fewer features. If you have your specific BMS model, you might be able to contact the vendor you purchased it from or contact JBD directly and get a newer unlocked version for your BMS.

    What is the remaining capacity of a module that used with the 100A BMS ? Anyway if we can measure the capacity of each cell then we can parallel the modules . In that case we don''t have to use two BMSs

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 5 дней назад

      Each module is 52v and the capacity of one is 1,721Wh, this is the same for both generation 1 or 2 cells and using a 50A or 100A BMS.. Raising the amperage of the BMS doesn't change the capacity, it just allows you to use that electricity quicker. I personally use a 100A BMS in a 30A scooter just so it runs cooler.

    • @aeesolutions
      @aeesolutions 5 дней назад

      @@greentecbatteries As you mentioned the BMS can't increase the battery capacity. It can do all the protection work so we can use it for a long time without damaging cells. I assumed these are used batteries. That's why I asked about the remaining capacity. It seems like 1721Wh battery block has 30-32Ah modules . Anyway you are doing a great job by giving another life for these used batteries.

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 13 дней назад

      Yes, the 7-21s JBD boards have a different wiring diagram. The B21 and B20 are connected to the cell while B19 and below can be combined to match your battery. This 7-14s JBD combines the positive most wires together, which is a bit less confusing so always refer to the wiring diagram.

      Absolutely. I would recommend the Samsung INR18650-35E model from Greentec Auto because it can handle 460A peak. We also sell buss bars to connect them in series. Yes that 250A BMS would be a perfect fit for that. When you wire it up you will combine the b20 and b21 wires together leaving b22 to be the positive most connection, then you can wire it up to a 21s battery. www.greentecauto.com/hybrid-battery/repurposed-batteries/energy/252-18650s

    How many would be needed to run a golf cart with a 8kw motor and a 10kw controller? I only need it to have about a 10-15 mile range because I rarely go more than 5 miles.

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 5 дней назад

      Each module is already 52v and the capacity of one is 1,721Wh and can output 5,200 Watts continuous so two would be the minimum. A golf cart averages 150Wh per mile so that is 11.5 miles per battery kit (23 miles for two modules). However its not ideal to push them to their max all the time, both for heat and it wears out the cells faster. So the more modules you can fit in there the better. The Length is 11.9291" (303 mm). Width is 8.7795" (223 mm).

      The JBD BMS needs to have a latching switch, not a momentary one. Meaning it makes the connection all the time when it's on. You can get these in a switch or push button form just make sure it isn't momentary.

    Thank you so much! I watched your wiring video which was great and tried programming everything but couldn't get the BMS to turn on for the longest time. Turns out I missed the "Cell num" setting in the "Origin Settings" tab and the BMS wouldn't do anything. I noticed you left you 0%-100% capacity settings between 2.55v-4.15v while the protection parameter settings were a little bit different. Does that effect performance?

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 14 дней назад

      I'm glad it helped! No those settings do not affect each other. Under Parameters, Capacity Voltage and then setting the percentages is really a preference. That is what will be displayed on your phone, tablet or the LCD screen if you have one installed. I like mine to show the packs true capability even though the Protection Parameters settings are going to shut off the flow of current before it hits zero. Think of it like a reserve tank in an old gas motorcycle or car. It will shut off if you weren't paying attention and got that low but you could still open the app and lower it to the batteries safe minimum then keep driving somewhere until you can charge.

    Uh. Looks like a fire hazard. That's a lot of little bombs that you are mistreating. * Please don't use lead-acid settings to charge a LiFePO4 battery. The BMS is there as a fail-safe, don't depend on it for normal operation. Use proper settings. A 4S LiFePO4 battery is typically charged to 3.55V/cell (14.2V) held there for a while to give the BMS time to balance the cells, then dropped to a float of 3.35V-3.375V/cell (13.4V to 13.5V). The float setting is mandatory to keep the battery healthy. * Do not depend on the BMS to prevent over-charging the lithium pack. BMSs aren't not meant to be used for that function. * You cannot safely use a power supply to recharge a lithium pack, BMS or not. You need to use a proper charge controller and float setting, otherwise you are permanently stressing the lithium-ion pack. You also can't safely hold the pack at its fully charged voltage indefinitely. * Lithium-ion batteries are NOT suitable for UPS applications. LiFePO4 yes, NMC/NCA no. * Do not wire the output of a DC power supply directly to a battery for load-support (don't wire it for charging at all. DC power supplies can only be used for low-battery load-support). That isn't safe. The output of the DC power supply has to go through a bank of schottky diodes. An example of a suitable schottky diode is a 20SQ060, which can dissipate 4A in free air. So have a bank of however many you need for the amperage you want to supply from the power supply. Stripe side points towards the battery. * Your system appears to be missing required fusing in several places. Do not depend on the BMS alone as your sole overcurrent protection device. BMSs aren't meant to be used that way. -Matt

      You're absolutely correct for long term use. If you were going to do a permanent installation in your house or operation that is unsupervised additional safety measures should be added, like you said. This video was to demonstrate the basics of wiring of a BMS according to the manufactures wiring diagram and to demonstrate it functioning. To address the charging of the LFP battery for a few seconds in the demonstration, we don't stock or sell any lead acid batteries at Greentec. Also if you try to charge in LiFePo4 mode it will stop you because it wants balance wires connected for exactly the reason you pointed out but again the focus of this video wasn't to show how to use iChargers. You can use NMC batteries as a UPS buffer though. Thats what every mobile laptop power-bank is, Tesla power wall, etc. They aren't using LFP. The DC power supply needs to be set at a lower voltage than the BMS maximum that way it will never fully charge it to 100% and the BMS should never need to open circuit. Again I only charged it to 100% to demonstrate that it will open circuit and how you then go in and clear the warning to turn on charge and discharge again. Also the iCharger has paralleled fuses built into it as well. Thank you so much for your input, that would be great content for another hour long video.

    Is it possible to use in series to increase the voltage e.g. 4 in series to get a 192v output ? How would the balancing work in this case ? (I'm asking because my solar hybrid inverter has a 160V dc min voltage rating) Also the shop only has the 50A BMS for sale, is there a link for 100A version ?

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 15 дней назад

      No this BMS cannot be connected in series because it uses mosfets to shut off the flow of current if anything gets outside of the safety parameters. They ones inside the BMS are always rated a little bit higher than the maximum voltage of the BMS so if you were to put 4 in series and something went wrong in one of them the voltage of the entire pack would be far greater than the mosfets are capable to stopping and there is a high likelihood of it frying out the BMS and possibly allowing current to continue to flow which would be a fire hazard. The only BMS capable of doing what you are talking about are ones made for that many cells like an Orion BMS or ones that have many slave units that handle a portions and all communicate to a master BMS like the Thunderstruck BMS. Both of which are very expensive. Also are you sure your inverters 160v minimum is that of the battery and not the solar panels circuit? The 100a version is in production now and will be available on our site here in a couple weeks. Thank you!

    The horrible thing about used cells or cells in general is that you'll never get all the cells to discharge evenly. You'll always have one cell reaching the uvp of 2.50 or so while the rest of the cells will still be around 3.00. I always find that extremely annoying. Fossil fuels are still the best. Batteries are only good for short term use to allow for a seamless switch from the grid to a fossil fuel power generator when experiencing a power outage.

    • @fastbike9845
      @fastbike9845 25 дней назад

      Trolling, or just ignorant ? You can't just buy a "fossil fuel powered generator" and leave it lying around. It requires maintenance, the fuel goes bad if you don't use it very often, it's noisy, polluting etc. You do know what the BMS is used for ...it monitors the individual cell voltage so you can pull out and replace a cell that is going bad.

    • @greentecbatteries
      @greentecbatteries 25 дней назад

      You are not wrong, there is deviation in capacity of the modules that come out of one pack. However, if you purchase our modules, they will all be capacity tested and grouped so you wouldn't run into that issue. They would all charge and discharge relatively evenly.

    Got an appointment for replacement in Houston. My battery is working great "now", I want to be sure I'm safe for the next 6 years. Going with all new cells.

    Nice video. I wish there was one from you guys talking about your batteries made with new cells and how they differ from the ones say in my 2008 Toyota Camry hybrid. My battery is shot and has to be replaced. I don't know to get remanufactured or go with a battery made of new cells. I like the idea of new cells much better, however who makes the cells and some other questions answered would help make me pull the trigger on ordering one. A video of how you do it would be great.

    I considered a Greentec battery but there is one big concern not mentioned in this video. The Greentec warranty only applies if their battery fails by displaying a fault code from the vehicle computer. The problem is that the high voltage battery can fail through self-discharge without ever causing a code to be displayed. I have that situation in my vehicle now, and if it happens with a Greentec battery during the warranty period they would not replace the battery. Bottom line, this battery is a gamble as to how long it may last, and don't count on the warranty to apply.

      Hello, Thank you for your comment. It is true that we typically require a fault code for a battery warranty replacement. However, it is to prove the problem with the vehicle and not some other component that may trigger similar symptoms and lights. In instances like yours, proof of a discharged battery would qualify. Simply sending screenshots of the data list would suffice. It is worth pointing out that in order for the battery to be discharged to a point where the vehicle no longer starts usually only happens of there is something wrong with the engine and continuous cranking discharges that battery, or the vehicle has been been stationary for over 6 months.
