I'm mostly interested in a mic for wildlife videos which would be better than the built in one of my R6ii and which wouldn't pick up my heavy breathing and wind noise. Does this canon one do this well?

Just put one on my R10! It works flawlessly and is 10 times better than the built in mic! Picks up my voice impeccably! Highly recommend!

Hey! I am curious about a start/stop side handle that works with r5c and SmallRig since they don't have one. Did you find anything? Something that would be possible to mount on Black Mamba preferably on the right side, similar to how Sony has their FX6 camera side handle. And yes, great videos, and useful advice! Thanks!

Hi, could you or anyone help me with a question? I have Canon R5C connected to a Smallrig board and Kastar NPF960/970 7.4V, 8700mAh, 64.5Wh battery and Canon USB-C cable, inside the camera I have the original Canon LPE6NH battery full charge and when I record video, the LPE6NH battery runs out first and the camera does not take the charge from the USB-C power supply, after the battery runs out, the camera does take power from USB-C port. Do you know if this is normal, has this happened to you? Thanks for your help.

Canon really missed out on implementing in camera noise reduction for the canon mic.

Hey Johannes, are you implying that the delay you are encountering is responsible for the inability to pan in and out of particular scenes smoothly ? Where as if you would just go originally with the factory (Already put together) DJI Gimbal with the toggle controller, those move more swiftly and efficiently ...?? if so, that's a deal breaker man, which is crazy because It's actually a masterpiece which is an irony in itself. However, If it is a yes to the questions iv'e had I'd hate to admit that I'm under the assumption gimbals with toggle control may be some what difficult when attempting to utilize the toggle controller and the follow focus simultaneously if that variable would happen to present itself.

I heard from a fellow that he used a USB-C splitter once and it fried the circuit board which resulted PD failure. He had Canon repair it, they had to order the part from Japan.

different question... I use the canon r5c too and I was wondering which external monitor do you use? And can you control the camera through your monitor? Because until now I didn't find an option that would make controlling the r5c through an external monitor possible. However I really hope there are ways to do that, as it's way more convenient than always flipping out the little LCD screen any time you want to change your ISO for example. Thanks!

Are you planning to make a video with the SmallRig power supply baseplate? Since it has both the 2-Pin LEMO-Type Input/Output Connectors do you think then you can power the control handle with it? Instead of using the expansion part which comes with the control handle!

I’ve been down this rabbit hole as well and met the same obstacles. It is beyond belief that the R5c gets so little love from canon. The C branding should qualify it to be supported in the camera connect app. The fact that it is about the only new cinema camera that is not supported it just insane. I’m reeealy starting to like Sonys these days.

When cycling, do you think rocksteady or rocksteady plus is best? This would be for daytime video. I want to go to 60 fps. Ok to put shutter speed at 200 with these settings?
