Differences are the Emerald has 18 design stitches plus buttonhole the Kenmore has 24 stitches plus . The Emerald has an auto needle up , auto needle threader and a low speed setting for the motor is all .

Sewing Machine in Cabinet
Hi, My daughter has a white rotary series 77 whose needle thread is not catching bobbin thread. I’ve cleaned and oiled every thing. Cleaned out the lint from the bobbin case. I’m thinking timing issue (perhaps) but not sure hoe to adjust it.
Hi I have the same model and i could not find and video to show how to ajust the needle bar since mine is not in correct spot and i have issue with the hight of the needle bar This machine got 3 mark line on the top of the needle bar instead of the bottom and could not found a video to show correct hight of my needle bar can u please do me a favor rise the needle bar till you see the first marked line come out of the top bushing and measure the hight from the top of the machin to where it hold the needle in mm thanks in advance
I have a white rotary sewing machine. I turned the wheel, and the needle went up, but as I turned the wheel again, the needle won't go down. I did oil the machine. Any information on how to get it to operate?
My mom serviced mine maybe six years back after I had it sitting in my storage unit in my last apartment, I finally got the hang of it and have it out, and suspect the belt looks dry? Tried to clean out some lint and threads where I could easily reach but Im thinking it needs a clean and oiling. So ty for this.
OMG! It's hard to listen with that music in the background. I think I could have learned something but oh the music!!! I would love it if you do another video without music!
Thanks John, I just bought a Singer 237, so this video was perfect for me to figure out how this thing works. Cheers !

can you change the needle position?
Thanks for posting this! I bought this model several years ago, and can't find the manual. I'm not much of a seamstress :-) I appreciate your help! Trying to find out how to oil it.

thanks for this, i'll try to replicate this but without the electrical plug since in my country the average housing didnt have a good grounding so i'll try with the grounding rod then
I just subscribed. Thank you.
I just brought one like this machine and found out the back needle lowering handle doesn’t latch. Is it broken? How to lower the needle if I can’t fix the issue? Hope someone answers me please. Thanks.
John my machine is is making a squeaking when I sew . It has been cleaned and oiled. It sounds like it is coming from near the inside on the right near the hand wheel
Could it be the belt squeking
Hey John. Pressure foot will not lift. Any suggestions other than oil?
In the electronics field we often use ground straps with a wrist band . Not too expensive and also saves the equipment from static electricity which can kill your electronics
Got this same machine, but it sew real slow...sew good though
Might have missed you saying it, but do check your outlets to make sure they're grounded with a ground checking device.
Mi maquina no hace el zigzag es igual este modelo 1525
I have same model just didn’t know much about it until today bought mine A few weeks ago
Thank you so much l started sewing today l also showed my 7 yr old grandson have a go on some stitch’s my first time buy this easy sewing machine thank you Sir 😊
"Show" how to thread the machine. Can't see a damn thing.
I did change the bobbin case, the thread is not coming up now. What must be wrong? Can you please assist ?
Is not clear and close to see it and understand it. I don’t have book instructions.
Very nice. I actually managed to find a model 77 for 30$ at the DI. The machine itself is in great shape other than the pulley wheel having small a deformation in the rubber from sitting too long, came in its own table too, though that's in less than great shape. Mine has a knee operated pedal, and I find that it doesn't really disengage properly. Do you have any resources that can point out how the mechanism works, or how to fix it? I might end up swapping it out eventually, but I want to put a few projects through it in its properly working state before I decide to change anything like the foot pedal. Oh! And before I forget, it only came with one bobbin spool, I've seen around the internet that using other bobbins in machines not meant for them can range from just not working, to damaging equipment. How can I tell what spools will work, and if it absolutely requires it's own type/size, how can I figure out what it is, and where to get more? Thanks for your help!
Crap video
I bought this machine n has no foot pedal. Where can I buy it or order it. The same model in the picture.
Is there a model 818-7
I truly appreciate these everyman diy videos. To make them truly useful for electro-morons like me it would be so much better if, before you post them, replay them and ask yourself, "Can anyone do what I did simple by following this video?" Because I can't. You camera is waaaay to far away. You need closeups. You hold up things, one after the other, without clearly identifying what they are or where I can get them. You talk about wrapping three wires you've exposed but don't show (closeup) what they look like or how to wrap them. Just a suggestion. I'm hoping you remake this video to clear up these issues. Thanks.
Hello. I have the Kenmore Stitch 12 that I haven't sewn on probably 30 or so years. I got it out yesterday to see if it still works and it does. My purpose is to do some much needed heming, mending and quilting. If you happen to have a manual, on the Parts List PG 5, it refers to the part #6840 for an additional Accessory set. Do you have that set or know where I can get it? Your help is much appreciated!
What did he mean: you’ve just been hacked!?
He pissed on our heads and told us its raining
I caught that too
Where is part 2?
I'm confused and can't see what ur using w tiny pieces and what u do after that r u touching the cookie sheet while watching tv? Any tips on grounding easiest in mobile home?
Hi John, I have a White Rotary model 43, do you know if this machine will zigzag? where can I find the attachments? Thanks in advance. I love your video
I have a Singer Fashion Mate 257. My tension needs cleaning. The videos I have found says there is a screw on the end of the tension knob. Mine does not have a screw there. I need to take that off but do not know how.
Theres a set drew under the left cover plate . Set way inside . Needs a narrow straight slot screwdriver to loosen . You'll have to reassemble it in the reverse order of taking it apart . Then getting the spring pressure correct will be tricky . Its pretty involved . I don't think I can explain it very well here . I may need to make a video later on it . Unless someone else already has .
@@johnmeredithstudios8557 Thank you. I found it
💗💗💗🙏
how to change foot?
Theres a straight slot screw on the left you need to loosen .
Do you know how to get the zigzag stitch with the side stitch to work? I can’t get it to
Free Online Manual : www.manualsdir.com/manuals/639699/singer-1525.html Your Welcome ..........John
I have this machine and am sewing jar openers with rubber drawer lining. How do I adjust the tension on the pressure foot, so that it will sew and move smoothly along with the rubber side up?
Thats a good question , But there will be a way to dial the pressure way back on or near the pressure foot itself . If you can use an embroidery pressure foot otherwise . Good Luck ...John
Hi John, I am looking to buy my first machine and found one of these for a great price online. Do you recommend this machine? Or something else to start out… I want to make basic clothing and swimwear. And really would like to have a vintage machine
Oh Yes , As long as all the parts are their you'll be extremely happy with your purchase . One of the best I have ever owned . Thanks John
@@johnmeredithstudios8557 thank you very much for your input! I look forward to trying it out
I still have this. It was a college graduation present 1968 . It came with a wood cabinet with legs. The bobbin maker froze on top so I took apart the top plate as you showed in your video . Thank you .
This is not an effective way to ground. You never want to ground yourself through an electrical system. It's a very dirty ground and can have the opposite effect. Run a wire out the window to a ground rod. Much more effective.
Are you a scientist ? How do you know such things?
@@cpmillz I don't need to be a scientist to understand simple concepts. Study and research will take you a long way. They make devices specifically for filtering out the bad stuff when grounding yourself through an electrical system. It's called an NCB. It was created by one of the top building biologists in the country, Andrew McAfee. He highly warns against grounding yourself through an electrical system.. but if you absolutely have to, use an NCB. It's always best to ground naturally through the earth. You can believe whatever you want and I'm sure you will. It doesn't matter to me either way. I was just stating a fact.
@@NoSmokeG interesting , it sounds like you have researched . I made a grounding mat (plugs on wall). I’m going to look into using a grounding copper pole and plug the matt into that instead. I just can’t see how big of a. Difference either approach makes, but that’s why I’m learning more and more , thanks for answering
As long as you clean the earthing points contacts in your a cotton bud or electrical cleaner should be OK,I have a grounding pillow case in my bedroom but I always turn the power off to my bedroom at night one for extra safety and 2 because my daughter has a wi fi enabled television
@@andrewm8831 Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. Cleaning the contact points does literally nothing to reduce dirty electricity. You need a greenwave filter for that, or something similar. I recommend the Satic filters.
Otherwise good job. But if you take a cable wire run out the window or door you can run it directly to a copper pipe driven into the ground
How far down into the ground does the copper pipe have to go? I have shale at like 2 feet deep. Wonder if I piled dirt up the pole if that helped get more "depth" or if that is useless?
@@annfalco3875 250 should be plenty from what I understand try and keep it moist around there. aro should be plenty deep although I'm sure somewhere that you can drive the pipe much deeper
@@yonkromis7883 250?
@@yonkromis7883250 what? Miles, feet, camels?
Please don't recommend people ground themselves to the ground plug there was four volts of difference between a true ground and a grounding steak and the ground plug in the house at my house plus like you said it acts like a big antenna that might be real issue just take a cable wire and run directly out the window to a copper steak in the yard

Everything you explained is literally on the 10th and 11th page of the manual.
