Great vid. Bought the Tusk jumper . That scrambler at the end was pretty sweet.
I knew the basics, but as l'm a new KLR owner about to go on a long ride, I thought I should make sure l know what I'm doing. This was a really useful video and worthwhile commentary, so thank you. I also learned what a Bead Buddy is and shall add one to my tool kit 😬
Might I also add, it's a damn good idea to inspect the rubber spoke guard for any damage before you install the new tube/tire and replace it if there is any damage from spokes poking through..
Thanks for this, good video!
Pretty much indestructible
This is what I'm looking for.
Those trails are so fast and flowing on a properly set-up 2-stroke woods bike, it's almost painful to watch dualsport trailbikes in there. Admittedly, I do ride my BRP and 950SE up there occasionally, but it's way more fun on a 2-stroke 250/300 and there's some upper trails that would be brutal on a heavy bike. It's a real shame we lost access to all of the lower trail network. Thanks guys! *note - The Everett Mountaineers started going to DNR public meetings in the late '80s (newsletter '89) once they realized off-roaders had been working with the DNR for decades allowing them to create trails. Off-roaders kept the place clean and hauled out junk and trash, left by low-lifes, annually. Make no mistake, the burgeoning REI crowd never showed up for the work parties. Instead they shut it down until they could claim for themselves land they never used or maintained.
Use to go on that trail all the time as a kid. That's so dumb. How the government organizations try to get involved in everything. Childhood ruined.
Awesome thanks for sharing
Fantastic! This is the best vid on RUclips on the subject of changing a tubed tire. Thanks!
check the handle bar brackets by pulling up and down before every ride mine lost one becouse of vibrations off road . lucky for me i was in town riding slow handle bar almost came off . now i check before i ride make sure they are tight . i ride in so az only in winter . air cooled to hot in summer . i got it for the abs . wating for klx 300 to have abs but not yet 3 years waiting to trade the 230 for water cooled 300 with abs?.
Love the videos! Keep up the good work!
Just bought a 2018. Carb man
Recently changed a flat out in the boonies near the Colombia/Ecuador border. I ended up with more holes in the new tube than I did in the flat!
Best bikes ever
Just curious about that bench you made......hubby and I are changing in the living room and your work bench is awesome!
Its just 1/2" plywood with a 2x4 frame. It is cut in half and hinges on the wall allow it to fold up to the wall in 2 sections. The legs are also hinged so they fold down when the top is folded up. This is an old, small 7'x8' shed, so i had to configure it for as much utility as possible.
@@goneridn4339 gonna have to make one! It's a little of struggle learning the first time as eventually we will have to do it out on the back roads for sure! Thanks for the info!!!
Very nice footage ive owned 54 bikes just purchased same bike today 2023 klx230s 12-16-23 i was suprised how easy it went through them trails im selling my cb500x just to top heavy thanks for showing us what its capable of by the way looks like your having way to much fun

Front - 80/100-21 Rear - 110/100-17
thank you so much hurrah
Such a fun bike ⚡️⚡️
Do you not have to balance the tire?
I used balancing beads in these tires, I think I forgot to show that in the video. But I do have another video on balancing tires that I will link below. ruclips.net/video/fE7f1NGOaE4/видео.htmlsi=MLKDBp5xpbNHhPxI
@@goneridn4339 I see appreciate it
Ran better with the spark arrester out its basically 2 screws and pull out the baffle
Like the tip of using a centre bolt to keep the wheel semi secure on the table !

You are such a underated RUclipsr
What orv park or trail are you at because I am near granite falls and this looks like a lot of fun
This spot was off North Carpenter Rd. It has, sadly, since been closed to all motor vehicles.
@@goneridn4339 oh that sucks, I bet it was fun while it was still open
Wrap it up I'll take it
Good video. Thank you
Great video. I just ordered a klx 230. This is the kind of stuff I'll be riding in. Looks like the 230 is smooth and plenty capable. How often does the suspension bottom out on you?
COOL STUFF. very helpful ! it would be swell if ya link all the tools, bag, etc. yer using ;) thx]
Nicely explained :)
I've been waiting for another video! Nice work! It looks so much cleaner up there.
Who you calling nerds 😂
I thought the northern hills of GA had some slop in the woods. Yall got some SLOPPY slop!
I had one when I was 15 it was really easy to ride
Great tips ty.
Thanks! great video.
Yeah maybe 23 hp in 1986 but rn in 2023 it’s more like 16 Nbd tho just means you gotta twist the throttle more
What?
@@chimprichalds2716 used old engines lose power unless rebuilt They lose compression because the rings wear down over time I seen a guy Dino one and it made 16 hp
that air cooled does not like water lol, awesome riding
Cheers Bro, good vid! (;{~
NO ONE gives torque specs! damn
nice work !!! hope you were out chasing today and #livetoride
Do you have problem with the Abs stop system.?-! Is possible to select On and Off abs.?
The ABS is really light, not very noticeable off road. The only way to disengage the ABS is pulling the fuse.
How much weight is that bike good for? Im 200lb, im too heavy for that bike?
I'm not sure what the manufacturer spec for max weight is, but I weigh about 210 lb and the bike has no problem moving me around.
Great information and well done. Thanks!
High praise coming from the great Leroy Jenkins.
What tires are those?
IRC VE33s Gekkota
@@lanereinhardt8Thanks, I love how they look
@@TopRevs No problem. They're the only tires I'll run for woods riding. They get phenomenal traction everywhere
@@lanereinhardt8what is the rear wheel size?

I keep a baggie of tire talc on my bike. In case my bike ever gets searched I have it labeled "Not Cocaine".
