Anthony Bourdain. Someone who I knew of in my childhood, but didn't know who until later. I also found a strange parallel with my father. He was a chef, loved watching parts unknown/no reservations. I grew up watching it with him. He passed in 2011.. Un-alive. I hadnt found out about Lanegan until the last couple of years. 6 months ago I read Sing backwards and weep, one of Mark's books. Mark Lanegan has become a staple in my temple.. as Bourdain was for my father. Hearing how close they were, similar paths of life... Reminds me of my father and myself. My only wish at this point is that I could enjoy both of these things with him. But, instead I will enjoy that we both in some weird way found a connection through our respective arts, of two great people who were good friends. Miss you dad.
