Hope they delete dragon ball super anime and remake like manga dbs version

I’m going to be perfectly honest dragonball to me is just watching really strong people duke it out and I feel like thats kinda the point.

The power scaling is exactly my biggest gripe with DBS. Nothing made any damn sense. And they keep moving goal posts. In battel of gods they said ssj goku was like 70% of beerus iirc. They get new forms after that yet somehow they're STILL not stronger than beerus yet? They should have been stronger than him the moment they got SSJ Blue. And don't even get me started on Gohan. HE'S the biggest example of moving the goal post and they've been doing it since Z. He's had 3 moments where is 'finally awakened his hidden power', but every time they need him to be stronger all of a sudden, no, the last time wasn't all of it he still has more locked away. First him unlocking ssj2 was it, then no no no, Ultimate Gohan was it, now, no no no Beast Gohan is it. Some random BS form with literally no explainion whatsoever behind it, when they could have easily made it make some sense by making Shenron grant it him just like they did with Piccolo. And it somehow now put him on the level of MUI goku. Gohan doesn't deserve any of the power ups he got besides ssj2 and he was my favourite character. I also have a problem with Ultra Instinct. I don't understand why Goku gets a whole new form and power boost from it. The explanation of what ultra instinct is was "the ability to dodge without thinking". What part of that justifies and whole transformation that increases his power level? It should have made him a better fighter not increase his power. Why don't Beerus or Whis transform like he does? At first when he first did it i though he absorbed the power from the spirit bomb that was pushed back on him but nope, the form just straight up makes him stronger in itself. They're just given them transformations for the sake of giving them transformations no matter how nonsensical and unnecessary they are. The amount of new hair colours is ridiculous and cringe

i always thought the power scaling numbers were gibberish and largely didn't matter (goku could've been 10 and frieza 11, if higher = auto win, then it doesn't matter if its 10% more or 1000000% more) - but the one thing i did find 'distracting' as a kid watching these shows was the nuclear blasts these characters would be firing at each other, talking about destroying planets and so on, then you look at where the crowd watching is and they're one maybe two football fields away from the fight. imagine being in goal in a football field and on the other goal is a half dozen nuclear bombs going off.

They became absurd and largely irrelevant after Namek.

I also want to mention Tagoma (Frieza's soldier), Trunks and Buu. Frieza's whole training eas just to punch Tagoma, yet he went from being weaker, than 1st form Frieza to beat my boy Piccolo. Trunks after taking L's from GB for 1 year he went from being around CG SSJ2 Gohan's lvl to be on par with SSJ2 Goku. Buu could beat buffed Bazil, who could push Goku to SSJ. That's why I think, that SSG absorbtion after RoF is retconned

It's funny , because this wouldn't be a problem if they just didn't mention power levels and didn't yell "I'M GOING TO KILL ALL OF EXSISTENCE" before everyones attack.

Okay here's the thing - when people say "power scaling" what they often mean isn't "X character got so strong so fast!" I mean how they scale in reference to other characters Like say if Namek Saga Goku (without the year of training on Yadrat) arrived on earth after Trunks beat Freeza in like 4 seconds, then Goku beat Trunks easily it wouldn't make sense - cause Goku was only a little stronger than Freeza, he should be no match for Trunks This tends to only happen in filler in DBZ - for example Tien & Yamcha do decently against the Cell Jrns when they are stronger than the Super Saiyans Tien holding back Cell in his second form is potentially an example, since 17 beat him easily, but even then Tien only held Cell back (and obviously didn't get a chance to use Tri-Beam on 17) Super on the other hand made the power scaling wacked up with literally just one moment the infamous "absorbing God Ki into base" idea, without that it wouldn't seem unreasonable for a character like Cabba to be equal to Vegeta in his base form (he was presumably the best soldier in the army of Saiyans, wayyy bigger net to find the best possible saiyan than the handful in universe 7) - that's literally it, almost everything else can easily be explained by "character Y was holding back" And to be fair Characters getting absurdly strong quickly isn't an issue in of itself, it's only an issue if it belittles the previous accomplishments of the cast in hindsight - Freeza being able to catch up to Goku & Vegeta in 4 months is a bit of a slap in the face to the decades of work put in and literal legends fulfilled (funny as it is) it is still towing the line between a gag manga and dramatic action shonen and sometimes those aspects work against one another

Super just took it to a new level is silly. Red Goku and Beerus almost destroyed the universe by punching and such... Then Blue form (Many times stronger?) barely feels special OR it's because they use 0.0001% of the total power... Idk man..

The sheer fact that they just started tacking numbers on to the term Super Saiyan (e.g. 1 -> 2 -> 3) and giving the characters bigger hair as proof of a change is clear enough evidence that they got lazy with the power scaling and techniques.

You have to factor in the fact that no one fights hard because they love the thrill of fighting. The only very serious fight was Goku vs Freiza. Everyone else plays around.

Maybe not ruined powerscaling, but all the rest. Dragonball ended with Z. But yes, the power up where always way fucked up :D

It didn't ruin power scaling, it just ruined the saga, the look of the characters, the feel of power, the fun of the story, etc...

The bullet thing is not a power scaling issue. Most people just don't understand the dragon ball powersystem. Toryama never outright explained it, but there were hints dropped. Think of the basics as being similar to nen, goku's base body is more durable than a normal person, but heavey enough fire power could harm or even kill him if he makes a mistake. Remember when krillin hit him with a rock while he was super sayan.

Well zenkai boost is no more but also Vegeta and Goku can still grown stronger as zenkai does just like Vegeta saiys aganist Granolah were he was stronger then a minute ago while fighting so it dont truly change things...also Bardak vs Gas displayed saiyan nature to grown and evolve thougth battle. The ui/mui was more unique in style in the top but later in Moro and Granolah it went more like its anime counterpart.

ssj isn’t a just a multiplier. Ssj1 (namek saga) didn’t multiplier, it add 147 million power to the user. Ascended ssj (Vegeta vs semi cell) is: [base x20]+147 million. Ultra ssj (trunks vs cell) is: [base x40]+147 million. And perfected ssj (Goku vs cell) is: [base x50]+147 million. Ssj2 is just [[base x50]+147 million]x2, and power level isn’t linear (power level 8 is not 3 higher than 5, but it like multiple time higher) and it depend on ki control too. That why in broly arc, Vegeta said their power is not far from jiren, but they lost because jiren controlled his ki so well

Look when it comes to Dragonball, you have to suspend logic. This was the case in Dragonball, Dragonball Z, and Dragonball GT. Roshi even said it during the Tien/Goku match in Dragonball, that sometimes it's not about who's strongest but rather luck.

you only get as strong as you need to be, so challenge yourself or find a challenge thats challenges you. then you have to adapt to it. and power level is increasing exponentially.

i don't really care how absurd it is until super when seeing ssj blue goku getting beat up by untrained annoying kids, bro got a power par with a god and trained martial arts his whole life getting beat up by untrained kids with issue 💀 the super really bad than the rest of the show

It isn’t that deep, Dragonball it’s just about Absurdly powerful beings Fucking shit up. The power of scaling has always been ridiculous, I don’t know why people are trying to rationalise this great show.

The Thing that surprises me is Goku can do 20x Kaioken against frieza. At dragon ball super, that's at least 12 years later, goku is still same level 20x Kaioken? Shouldn't he at least do 20000x kaioken? especially since god ki sort of protects the body.

Babied says with a power of 3000 its enough to destroy a planet, yeah teenager vegeta blows up a planet no problem already; But then just imaging when there power level is at over 100M, frieze level, probably one hit to the ground or accidental blast should technically blow up their planets.

In this day and age if you can’t scale super it’s a personal problem lol I know pitchforks are going to be pointed at me but idc lol the lack of comprehension when it comes to controlling their power reserves and holding back is astonishing. The whole point of their training with Whis was to better-refine their ki control. So to think they can’t adjust it to match whoever their opponent is insane and shows no attention was being paid whatsoever. I will add that ssj rage was a weird addition though but honestly the manga is more consistent tbh and didn’t really include the form outside of an alternative manga cover.

That's not true. Original Dragon Ball didn't have power levels and it was perfect. Z introduced power levels and that created an issue, where character can only compete with someone of similar power level, otherwise if it's higher, they can shoot everything and it won't work. But it was logical. You knew that higher power level = win. And Super? It pretended power levels didn't exist, gaslighting people. And that's how Goku could get harmed by a gun, Krillin could actually be quite good against Goku, even though Goku's fart should sent him to sun and so on. Super RUINED power scaling and a lot. Z shouldn't have introduced power levels in the first place, but since they are here, pretending that Roshi has pseudo ultra instinct and can compete with strong characters etc is stupid. There are leagues of characters, even without power levels. You knew that Bulma wouldn't win against Goku, even if they didn't have power levels. But Super just made up stuff that somehow made weak af characters being able to compete with stronger characters, while they should deal no damage. Krillin's strongest punch shouldn't affect Goku even if he doesn't transform. Same for 18. Or 17. They ruined power scaling. That's a fact. And it's not even about power levels, just about common sense that doesn't exist. And no, DBZ didn't have absurd power scaling. Anyone who claims that "Dragon Ball never made sense" is fake fan appealing to populism. There were laws in the world and it wasn't a chaos like in Super, that whatever can happen if writer wants. As a writer myself I can easily tell that DBS writing was done by a amateur.
