I’m conflicted listening to this, let alone a live version. No one or nothing will let you forget how upsettingly guttural and emotional the experience is lyrically - the intention of the song and its message. But also, musically? It’s kind of a bop. From Fieldy’s bass line to the bridge; arguably the heaviest breakdown in nu metal history. Sometimes I want to hear the craftsmanship of the music but in the end, I’m still listening to a therapeutic psychological breakthrough in trauma. Can I eat my crab ragoons and enjoy how heavy this is or do I have to cry?
