1988 Olympic Sendoff from Disneyland
On September 5, 1988, Disneyland hosted Team USA-to send them off to Seoul for the 1988 Summer games. Los Angeles mayor Tom Bradley, California governor George Deukmejian, and US Vice President George Bush were all at Disneyland that day to celebrate the team. They all participated in the afternoon State Fair parade.
Shot on a Sony CCD-M8U camera, the first 8mm Sony Handycam, this is not the best video you will ever see. There was no zoom lens, and no electronic viewfinder. Several times I lifted the camera over the crowd and I couldn't tell what I was pointing at. At the end of the video, I was surrounded by larger TV cameras from the local news stations that caused electrical interferenc...

A quick video from May 22, 1998 when Paul Pressler and Mickey Mouse opened the new Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. I was lucky enough to have a front row spot! My video camera was having problems this day which caused the bands of missing color in the video.

From 2001, filmed a few weeks before the show closed at Disneyland. This was filmed in both theaters, multiple times, then edited together as one complete show. Special thanks to Paul Barrie from DoneInTheDark.com for providing the soundtrack at a time when it was not readily available from Disney; and to Bob Allen and Barbara Guzman for their understanding and help in filming.

from the summer of 2001 ...taken from an edited version of a full show recording, this personal project was created by myself and two of my cousins. We filmed two different nights with two cameras each performance (8 different camera angles) to capture the entire show.

Always loved that they gave Ernest an off-stage line in the finale (I'm gonna take a nap now)! Since he and Trixie never get to be a part of any show finale, it's nice they acknowledged that he's backstage.
That ain’t Ernest that’s Wendell and he was actually the one that gave an off stage line in the finale saying that he was taking a nap now
@@Sargon2008 Nope, Wendell says “say cheese” at the end, and then the voice saying “I’m gonna take a nap now” is Ernest’s VA. Two different voices and two different voice actors. The scripts online also confirm it’s Ernest at the end.

I’m actually really upset the iger organisation has been allowed to touch these. They should be a listed as a historic piece that can’t be fucked with. You know exactly what’s going to happen don’t you, they’re going to take all the original character and charm out of the attraction, put all the money into replacing the frames with electronic ones and not even bother about hiring the original actors (where they can) because they frankly don’t care about quality or continuity anymore. RIP country bear jamboree, I hope that 2 shower bob gets a backlash he rightfully deserves for destroying multiple Disney classic attractions. He will forever be remembered as the face of Disneys demise. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to book some TDL tickets before he finds a way to fuck with that too

They recently closed CBJ in Disney World for Renovation.
Liked this version more than Florida wish I can see it again.
The original Country Bears closed yesterday at Disney World. A reimagined version will be opening this year. 😢

When I was really young (about 4) my grandma took me to Disney world. I remember being so scared of country bear jamboree that I’d cry and hide behind my grandma. Good memories I think!
Disney Land should just move the show to Disney California Adventure it fits right in there. And they have the space.
disney keeps replacing "group experience" attractions with long queues and short rides on slow loading/unloading vehicles. the only ones left at disneyland are the enchanted tiki room and great moments with mr. lincoln. i bet if those weren't attractions personally installed by walt they would remove them too. we need more long form attractions,especially in the summer when it would be nice to relax in an air conditioned theater for 15-20 minutes and watch a show.
I agree with you. Unfortunately Disneyland isn't the only place this is happening. Group experiences are disappearing in many places - and it isn't good for society.

This was my favorite version of the Country Bear Jamboree.
In the 2012 update, I think Rocky Top could’ve replaced Devilish Mary to make the show more entertaining.

It brings me many beautiful memories, when I visited Disneyland with my mother during the eighties in several ocassions we had a marvelous time, is like a dream come true and I remember this show in particular. Excellent recording, congratulations and thank you for sharing. 🤠
I feel bad that the show is gone another this is that I'm not afraid of the octopus so call me weirdo but I don't find creepy things that weird accept the noise from Domino's I'm afraid of the noid a bit even though I only drink shakes and not eat pizza no one's getting their my school's pizza party

Not only the fact that the show at Disneyland got removed in 2001, the one at Magic Kingdom was recently closed and will be replaced by the "Country Bear Musical Jamboree"
