WithoutWings (2010)
Without Wings is a celebration of the human body in motion. The feats of athleticism performed by the dancers, traceurs, and acrobats as they run, jump, leap, soar, flip, and spin through the movements of dance, Parkour, free-running, tricking, and martial arts acrobatics were painstakingly recreated by hand and woven together in a symphony of animated figures.
Without Wings rejoices in the amazing ways the human body is able to defy gravity and achieve flight (if only for a moment) without wings.

David Belle Street Reporters Interview 2009 - "The Way" (English subtitles)

David Belle's "Street Reporters" interview. Translated by special request. : ) David Belle discusses Parkour, talks about its origins and how the discipline relates to life in general, and passes on some advice to those just starting up. Typo alert! In the video I translated 60 metres and wrote the conversion as 2000 feet. 60 metres is actually only about 200 feet (196.8504 to be exact). I act...

David Belle is interviewed by Babylon A.D. director, Mathieu Kassovitz. David shares his views about Parkour, the discipline he created. I didn't interview David Belle and neither did I shoot or edit this interview. That honour goes to Mathieu Kazzovitz. I've only translated the interview and added subtitles. In a couple of places, the words were kind of hard to make out, so hopefully I hope I ...

King David, Andrew Eng, David Elson, and Ryan Houchin went to Las Vegas to perform with Sideswipe at the Panasonic booth at PMA08. They came. They saw. They did flips 'n shit. This is the slightly longer version of a documentary film I shot for an experimental film class. It includes more "behind-the-scenes" footage which had to be cut in order for the film to fulfill the no-longer-than-three-m...

A little old lady gets mugged by a man on a bicycle. When she realizes that there is no one around to help her, she decides to take matters into her own hands. It's a good thing Granny knows Parkour! A film about self-empowerment, animated the old way - by hand, with pencil on paper and a light-box. PK-Granny copyright Jo Meuris, 2007 I finished this film last year and it has been touring the f...

December 2007: One afternoon, about a year into my training, over the course of a couple of hours. This started out as an addendum to another piece and ended up being a video unto itself. Of course, I still have a lot farther to go in my progression. Thanks to King David. Thanks and love to PK-Cali. Never give up...

there you go, there is wayy too much ego in traceurs nowadays! Justl ike David said your whole life cannot be revolving around parkour, parkour is supposed to be just a part of your life!

@InsaneJumpMedia flips can be used if they are useful in the movement, as he says in another interview "when you are walking down the street, you can do a roll but that doesnt mean its useful". we have multiple methods of going over an obstacle but you have to decide what the most fluid movement is which enables you to carry on the momentum..

@RalbongStudios parkour and free running are the same thing, flips are part of the art of acrobatics/gymnastics. The founders have trained in martial arts and gymnastics as well. Parkour is just the furthered result of art of displacment. many people confuse parkour or free running as outdoor acrobatics, thus why he says free style parkour. a flip is not a efficent movement and is not useful in an emergency situation.

lol bitching about the tricks and free-running, but look at the 'useless' spinnin-vault he does at 2:26, and sometimes he does some backflips (not in this vid)

CHEERS!!! NOW THAT'S DETERMIANTION, I APPLAUD THAT. Awsome, just need to work a lot on something that must traceurs don't do, and makes a difference between a pro and a beginner: Momentum. Don't waste too much time by running slow or fast into the wall, approach at a comfortable speed and BE EXPLOSIVE! just when you're getting close to the wall, kick off the wall really hard, it doesn't matter if it sends you a little bit backwards, you'll have height enough to grab the edge easily.

yea thats incredibly true i havent thougt about it but actually i am always trying out new things.the only thing i dont think its true is that he didnt had any phobias.there is no such person everyone is afraid of somthing but can be overcomed.for exaple i had fear of heights but one day i climbed to the roof of an 9 floor build and i slowly walked to the edge i was terrifiied but i was happy becouse i was already at the edge and from that day on i love heights and dont fear them.
