AMAZING! RM250 Barn Find

Many of the parts were freshly powder coated and never assembled, including the frame. I recent...

    I was thinking of getting the e start for my kx500. Ended up getting a VHM decompression head for less than half the price and have had 0 problems makes it a one kick even when cold and a slight power increase. I’ve seen some fishy things said about Panthera in general from other buyers on RUclips who have bought kx500 e starts from them so that alone made me stay away from it & the installation made me uneasy.

I learned this method a few years back when my wife's Audi Q5 needed wipers and the prices were about 28-30 each! In this video, I am changing them out on her Tahoe. Some vehicles may have slightly varying techniques, but the process is the same!

I was able to remove my shifter cable and luckily the 'C' in the rear bracket was facing down so I could easily pull the cable through after removing the clip and squeezing the grips. My new cable does not come with a clip, but it looks like the old clip will fit. Any reason why GM would have not included it that you can think of? • @kdsgarage8475
      @kdsgarage8475 23 дня назад

      Thanks for the comment. Not everyone uses their Jeeps the same. I would think that some will install lifts for ground clearance, some to fit larger tires, some because they like the look, and some for ease of access under the Jeep. Me personally, it's for all those reasons. Are you saying that adding a lift and a transfer case drop does not give you any of the above mentioned things, but using a SYE with a lift does? This is one of my Jeeps that is long gone, but in this case, it had a 2.5 inch spring lift, a 1 inch body lift, and a 1 inch shackle lift. The body lift does nothing for clearance, but makes it amazingly easy to work on. Fewer busted knuckles. The 2.5" spring lift provides 2.5" of lift. The TC drop is 1". So you have 1.5" (2.5-1)of additional clearance at the skid plate, not considering which tires you choose to use. If you go from the stock 31 to 35, that's a 4 inch increase in total diameter or another 2" of lift. So.... by adding a 2.5" lift, which allows for the larger tire, gives you 3.5 additional inches of clearance. Even with all the lifts, SYE's, Tires, etc. You are still limited by the bulbs and drive shaft connections at the bulbs. SYE or not.

    Wow! You helped me tremendously! My problem was at the console end - the bushing you show had cracked in two and there was no connection between the shifter and the shift cable. I had already fixed the freezing solenoid problem so I just had to go one step further to get to the cable. I had backed out of my driveway and was stuck in the middle of the road blocking traffic. After watching your video. I was able to get to the shift cable and temporarily reconnect it and pull back 2008 Corvette back in my garage and I’ll get the parts to fix it. Thanks so much for posting this. I would’ve had to have my car towed to a dealership wait however many days it took for then be able to get to me and then be at their mercy as to what the problem was and of course, how much they were going to charge me. For the shifter end, you do not show how to re-attach the cable onto the new bushing. In my case, since mine was in park when it broke, there is no slack in the cable to reach in there to attach the cable end on the new bushing. And it does not pull forward at all. What am I missing? Do you need to turn the engine on to be able to pull the cable forward with the engine on -- essentially putting it in gear?

    • @kdsgarage8475

Turns out the brake switch was only sending 5 volts to the lights when the brake was pushed, not enough to light the leds. The hazards and turns worked fine. Swapped out the brake switch and found a t connector spliced into the wire from previous owner which likely caused the drops in voltage.

    • @kdsgarage8475
      @kdsgarage8475 2 месяца назад

      Lowering the bolt will push the a-arm closer to the ground, raising the car. You need to turn itcounter clockwise to lower. The number of turns might be different for everyone. Depending on your setup and age of the spring, but that’s a good rule of thumb to go by to start. Also, once you lower the car, you need to drive some. It’ll drop some more as it settles and you may need to adjust.
