I just want to say without question I would not have been successful leasing at Swift without the direction you guys provided while I was there. That said everything that I was able to put in place while at Swift made my transition to where I am now running the spot market, successful. there a shortage of company's that treat their driver well enough to keep them , ,, i remenber back in 1992, we had a big wigg from a Texas based company come give a seminar at our annual driver meeting , he asked our boss what his driver turn around was, ,lol the boss had to ask for a explanation to the term , driver turn around, , the big wigg explained that it was the ratio of drivers that no longer work for you each month , our boss said, well, 4 i guess, big wigg asked you guess you do not know, ,,, well we had 2 guys retire this year, one died from a heart-attack, and one decided to go back to full time farming, ,,, that's 4/688 at the time over a full year, and the big wigg tried to explain it to the boss again what a driver turn around was, ,boss yup 4 /688 again was his response , the Texas big wigg was speechless, stating that it was impossible to only have 4/688 turn around over a year let alone monthly ,,, driving, has many faces, it not a figure on a graph ,,, you also have drivers that can repetitively do 3000 mi / week while others only average 2200/ week , why ,,,, because of freight demand, because of seasonal demands, because they do set runs, because that all they can physically drive for what ever reason , because of traffic loads where they run , because the customer , consignee ,shippers are not open 24/7 ,because of electronic log books preventing overtime to get the job done so you can start a fresh the next day and not be still doing yesterdays work , and this impacts the drivers PAY CHECK ,, and at the end of the day /week/ month , it no longer adds up too a working mans wage, add the sacrifice of being away from family friends, and the toll on their health ,,, now throw in DOT /customs/ the complete A=holes that seem too work at consignee and shippers that for no other reason but power trip try to make you day living hell , and lets not forget dispatch/load brokers that want every thing del before you even get loaded so their stats numbers look good, and you get a very toxic environment too most humans, but some how a TRUCK DRIVER must except the continuous abusive stress ,, the system is broken , with the advent of digital mapping that says it take 4 hr and 12 min to go from point A to B ,,, yet we all know that's far from reality , and some how you the driver are the blame ,,, it gets old quick for most drivers and the new millys and zzzz dont last long ,,, it goes against what they been toughs from birth , ,,, oh ya and not being racist, but importing foreigners is not working either, and is a common reason why some drivers quit so i been told, they seem to be rubbing against the grain , hard to be a team player that way , , corporate is good at stats, and numbers on paper,,, looks good on a financial statement for their bonuses ,but it so far from reality ,, it works on paper so it must be the driver fault ,, the only variable they cant control ,,, proffit proffit proffit at all cost to the driver,,, because hey there will always be replacements from foreign lands too take their place , yet they lack the basic qualifications

Finally getting around to watching the replay

I would like to clarify the comments about KW having 3 different companies to deal with for the drivetrain. This is the case if you want Cummins but if you run Paccar the entire system is Paccar with the MX-13. You can dog on Paccar if you want but much of what I have found suggests if maintained properly these are million mile motors at a minimum and are quite fuel efficient. I do believe my 22 Cascadia got better fuel economy at Swift but Swift puts an emphasis on that where this truck is geared different and seems to have much more power.

Guys, I have found a groove over here where I’m at that. I am profitable and making good money for myself and don’t stay away from home for more than 5 to 8 days at a time. Knowing what I know now by making the move I did there is absolutely only a few circumstances that would ever put me back in a dispatch model or a company driver I don’t say never because crap happens, but under my control, I will never do anything in this industry. The way I used to. I highly encourage anybody that is in a lease purchase situation to take a look at companies like the one I am at
