If your 350Z is cranking but not starting or stalling during idle this might help fix it.

Do you have any videos of you driving when you had the rattle? I’m interested to know if we’re having the same issue, as I also have the rattle with ISR long tube headers
Unfortunately I don't.
Hey I have a couple questions! 1. Isn’t the flex pipe on cars important to have? Did you have any issues not having the flex pipe? Also what size diameter is the z1 y pipe? It fits to the isr long tube headers?
@koolaidman4461 flex joints are not important, y pipe is 2.5 to a 3 inch merge which fits the isr lth
I had this problem with my g before and i had the z1 y pipe and it still made the same noise, i have a z now and i literally switched to a isr y piper cause the z1 y pipe is known for leaking so i thought that was the problem but it still makes the same noise.
@modifiedcars4275 it also has to do with what type of exhaust and headers you're using, the z1 ypipe fixed my issue but im running a rear mount turbo now so it's just loud af now lol
@@steviekay_Z33 rn I'm running a nismo s tune exhaust, use the have the tomei but was way too loud so I switched to a nismo but started making the noise, I guess tomei was too loud for me to hear the rattle
@modifiedcars4275 what headers are you running? Cats or test pipes?
@@steviekay_Z33 stock headers, aam test pipes
@@modifiedcars4275did you ever fix the noise? I have the s tune as well
Those lights being on are generally related to the steering wheel clockspring
Hey so it’s the flex pipe that make it rattle? Just installed long tube headers and I hear the y pipe rattle when cold start
Yeah if you have flex joints on your ypipe that's the issue
@@steviekay_Z33 So you think if I get the flex pipe remove and replace it with just a straight pipe will that fix it? Or is that a bad idea to remove it and replace it with a straight pipe
@davidambrocio2659 straight pipe from the headers? I'd invest in the z1 ypipe to go with the long tube headers.
@@steviekay_Z33 Well I have the isr y pipe and I just got it that’s why so I’m wondering if I can just remove the flex pipe and replace it with just pipes so it will still be similar to the z1 .
@@davidambrocio2659 Oh yeah you can definitely do that
Where u get ur resistors ? cause I have the same problem with my z 😫😫
Bro I used to have stock headers put some some cheap test pipes cuz cats were bad and started hearing like a hissing/turbo noise right when I hit 2500 to 3k rpm and when I let off the gas same shit only when engine hits 2500 or 3k rpm I was like maybe there’s a header leak (wich it wasn’t) then l installed ISR long tube headers everything smooth until I got to the stock Y pipe was a little hard to fit and stud holes weren’t the same size as the ISR long tube headers end it up getting a ISR y pipe was way easier to install better looking y pipe once I started the car the car sounded deep so good with the stock muffler and resonator once I got to test drive it man same shit but way worse than before when my car hits 2500 to 3k rpms you can hear a big rattle/grinding/hissing by the passenger area don’t know the exact word but sounds so ugly now I’m gonna have to get a z1 y pipe thank you so much for making this video helps so much!!clean Z and exhaust btw🔥
Yeah bro it's all do to the amount of increased flow and vibration that causes that sound. Once you get the z1 y pipe we'd be running the same set up and that should fix your problem too.
Hey man, did you get the z1 y pipe on? Did it fix it?
I replaced my camshaft sensor but still have the same problem I think is a fuse you know ware the fuse is located for the camshaft sensor
Do you replace just the camshaft sensor? Or did you replace the crankshaft position sensor also? I advise you change both
@@steviekay_Z33 I only replaced one i have the other one I will replace tomorrow but also tested the signal coming out of the plug 3 wires on is the ground wich is good the second one has power but the 3rd one has not signal that is why im thinking is a fuse or relay but i don’t know ware is located it
@luiscruzcedeno8642 yeah replace the crankshaft sensor first to see if that's the issue
Lol I have the same problem on my 19’ Q50. I have ISR Y Pipe as well and it’s rubbing on the Passenger side Frame.
Oooof wish i can help you there but i dont know anything about q50s
I have the same noise and same issue and I already have the z1 y pipe. Been real annoying since I can’t trace where the rattling is coming from
What headers are you running?
@@steviekay_Z33 they’re stock
@@joshuag2773 stock cats too?
Happening to me rn bro , does this officially fix it ? Cuz ima order a new y pipe rn if so 😂
Its been 3yrs and still sounds great
Did you end up doing it? did it fix it
Bro I just ordered all three sensors cuz last time I pulled codes I got the P0345 . My Z cranks and cranks and eventually will start and run normal but the idle needle is freaky AF. Now I can’t get codes from OBD2 reader not connecting to ECM . Praying I didn’t F my ECM . Waiting on the sensors . K dios me perdonara 🤟🏾
You have to get good sensors bro no aftermarket junk. Check your obd fuse and always disconnect the battery
Having the same problem pretty frustrating…. Isr long tubes isr y pipe and remark v2 exhaust
Its guarantee your y pipe bro, thats why i changed my isr for z1
I just cut my cats open and had the honeycomb taken out.(Cheap Staright Pipe) Maybe the extra airflow causes my y pipe to rattle.
Yup its all in the amount of airflow
I replaced cam and crank sensors. Now the car cranks an cranks an cranks then finally starts.. what next?
If its not your starter, battery or battery terminals, it depends on where you got the sensors, i had to get it from a legit oem parts store, the ones sold on amazon or any aftermarket it garbage
i did it and it still won’t start idk what to do
Did u find the problem?
Pull out game on point hahaha. Thanks bro
😂😂😂
I don’t have a y pipe delete and it has more airflow on each side so my flex pipes are probably what’s causing the noise since I just got new test pipes installed
Wait, you dont have a y pipe? Where are the flex joints located and what did you do, straight pipe from the test pipes?
@@steviekay_Z33 I have berk test pipes and a top speed pro y back exhaust. I’m friends with a local shop and they cut the y-pipe at the flange giving me 2 flanges after my resonators. That goes into the flex pipes which was recommended from the shop to stop any snapping from engine movement and after that they’re bolted into my test pipes. I would’ve did the job myself but work is really busy right now. Technically it’s like have 2 single exits almost. The cars a HR g35 btw.
@@jamalrush3636 ooooh i c yeah bro thats A LOT of air flow guaranteed more than the flex joints can handle. If i were you id delete the flex joints and weld some pipes there instead. That should eliminate the extra vibrations
@@steviekay_Z33 yea that’s what I was thinking but I didn’t realize it’d be that bad. I was thinking maybe when I get my tune it’ll help. But I’m getting new air filters which is gonna still increase the air flow so I might have to delete them
I have the same but only while car is moving and over 40 i dont get it but i have stock y pipe
Do you have after market headers or exhaust tho? Stock y pipe might not be able to support the extra air flow and vibrations coming from the upgraded parts
@@steviekay_Z33 i have teat pipes and cat backs
@@silent_torseeker7741 you're going to upgrade the y pipe eventually? The z1 wont let you down it fixed my rattle.
So it sounds like a buzz too right ?
Yeah like a weird vibration at certain rpms.
How do u fix this
Bruh i felt this
Dont we all....Z GANG!
“BANG BANG BANG” .. yeah I live in a war zone.. but Um
😂
i have the almost the same set up just a custom 3” an i cannot get rid of the rasp 😭 i even get a rattle on idle
No rattle when downshift? Deceleration??
Very little hardly noticeable, and only in very low rpm
@@steviekay_Z33 btw finally I found solutions for isr y pipe stop rattle;)
@@MrDizaier any tips? Im going through the same thing, not knowing if it was an exhaust leak or not
@@BOTgaming.01 I cut my y pipe end sectionn and replacement totalflow y pipe also remove flex joint and add mini race mufler each side.
@@MrDizaier how????
No one else hear the gunshots lmao!
If chop that resonator off u will sound like a gtr 🤣 but loud loud
Been dealing with the same issue I was loosing my mind. The moment you said you had your slip TCS and SES light on I knew this was the fix. Thank you
No problem bro glad this video helped
I'm having the same problem every time my rpms drop my y pipe skates really bad

@@steviekay_Z33 Megan racing
@@yosasuke3976 are you running cats? High flow? Long tube?
@@steviekay_Z33 i have test pipes but i went away today thanks though
@@steviekay_Z33 i’m running testpipes and it’s had a really bad rattling noise i took the flex pipe off and it still rattled
Having same problem right now
What setup are you running?
bought the z in 2017 and don’t really know what the previous owner had modded but exhaust was clearly one of them and I think it’s a cheap y pipe, it was connected to a straight pipe which I removed to put an oem one cus I was really sounding like a Honda too. Problem is bro I just bought that ISR y pipe for msrp and I’m now submitting a return because this is the second video I’ve seen of this VQ rattle fix. So thanks for making this bro really helped me out deciding on what to do.
@@OM4Rx no problem bro yeah when going with the y pipe definitely spend a little more for the high end products. My z1 ypipe still running and sounding good till today.
@@steviekay_Z33 thanks for advice bro currently sending it back
How is it holding after 10 months?
Great! Sounds exactly the same as the day i installed it.
THANK YOU THANK YOU! Almost no one tells you how to remove the sensor. If you don't know and it's an awkward removal in the first place... I though I was going crazy trying to remove it. Again, thanks. For others doing videos PLEASE aways tell us how you're removing the sensor when it can't be clearly seen from the direction you're looking.
Hey no problem i know exactly what you mean some videos just show where the sensors are then skip the removal and they have it out
Could you put a link of where you bought your sensors
It was from my local parts shop
No m brace??
Took it off
who got shot lmao
