Rare Ty Cobb radio interview
Просмотров 194 тыс.9 лет назад
This is a rare radio interview between Ty Cobb and Grantland Race recorded during the 1930's.
Cubbies in champion form!
Where the photographer is really allowed on the field like that?
I had money on that game. I lost.
A game ticket back then was maybe a dollar ?
Interview conducted by the great Grantland Rice?
Buck Weaver doesnt look right.
Actual real baseball ⚾😮
2:03 we really need to bring this method of touching home back to MLB.
Great video! Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner!!!! Awesome duo
Notice everyone looks nice and not over weight
They had to work not live on cellphones and video games and fast food 😅 Mom cooked them meals and they had to share with ten siblings not the filth trash bred nowadays by whores and egomaniacs
OMG! Just beautiful...
2:06 Arnold Rothstein has entered the chat
I forgot the pitcher’s mound and home plate were connected back then
All overrated, there I said it….
Love looking at the outfield advertisements. Wow. They sure prized a close shave and whiskey. Maybe when caught sneaking a secret slug of their favorite "Who shot John" whiskey they splashed some onto their faces pretending it to be aftershave? 😉😊😄😊
what does deadball mean?
This just reminds me that we are all just passing through this life
Baseball sport invented in Mazatlan Mexico and adopted bye americas . You’re welcome gr!ngos .
If these films are so rare, how did YOU get ahold of them?
When baseball was PURE
Life looked exciting.

Here then, Gone forever… that will be us one day. Enjoy every moment you’re alive folks. We are but a memory in time.
🫣everyone in that video is dead now and that is freaking me out for some reason🫤
Very touching and proud of my baseball addiction running enbeded in my heart
If they saw the superficial look of the game today they would probably be amazed by how similar it stayed. Of course the style of play has changed and the uniforms fit better, but a player of this era would be able to pick up the modern game pretty easily. Not sure how well they would do but pitchers threw a lot more pitches on less rest back then.
Gave me goosebumps all over my arms.❤Simply amazing!
Shit, everyone mentioning their grandfathers is actually making me choke up a little. R.I.P. to all the amazing grandfathers watching over us now.
Neat! On some where the film was speeded up, pitchers looked like they threw a 200 mph fastball-WOW! In the nineteen-four Giants series victory, it looks like a courtious player tipped his hat to the cameraman-- now that's respect!
It so amazing to see this footage
Yeah looks like a bunch of plumbers and teachers right Gen Z drooltards??

What I would do , to go back in time and take in one game from this era
Imagine being able to go to an event and not deal with all the we have to deal with now.
Nice to see no Fox or ESPN in game interviews on the field or in the dugouts😮
Game goes on
In the shot of Ty Cobb together with Honus Wagner, I just noticed Cobb bears a bit of resemblance to Derek Jeter. Also, really cool seeing the crowds. Back then, a man wore a tie when he went out, and most wore a hat.
What's with the dancing first base coach LOL?
6:12 the Giants weren’t world champs in 1904. They refused to play the AL team, and there officially was no WS. That move got them in a lot of trouble as a result.
So much better than many aspects of today’s (21st century) game.
Hard to believe the huge bat selection they had back in the day.
Watching this video I feel like i'm entering DeLorean and traveling through time
Who’s still watching this in 1936?
I'm typing this 30 minutes before game 5 mets dodgers in Queens oct 18 2024. 1904 NY Giants World Champions frame is followed by moving images of the Giants at the Polo Grounds. Are these images form 1905? (There was no 1904 WS; the Giants won the NL Pennant). Beyond the outfield and stands one can see the trains moving. We also see the McComb's Dam Bridge (made of iron in 1890 at 155th street over the Harlem River) in the distance.
All those players, coaches, umpires, hundreds of thousands of fans in the stands, and yet not a single one of them is still alive. Death is undefeated.
obviously the game has changed SO much since then, but the many, many similarities that have held over 100-125 years are what makes baseball so amazing
Why was the fans storming the field @0:15 ish
that’s how people used to leave baseball games
What is time ? - It might have well been yesterday . . .
