What is this genre of music called? Last year I came across a bunch of music videos with straightforward pop rock songs without the blues element, without sexiness, with nostalgic, introverted lyrics about love and childhood. And the music videos looked like they were made in rural areas or small towns or suburbs of the eastern part of America, and the music itself fits those areas. What other bands and singers are doing this type of music? I think that this is the type of music that will go mainstream and replace rap and degenerate, urban type of pop music.
