Our BBQ Shack, Before, After and the Build.
Просмотров 31 тыс.4 года назад
Since building our BBQ shack approximately 4 years ago we have been inundated with requests and information about the shack, specifically build images. We've put these together in a brief clip. Its all fairly self explanatory. The shack evolves throughout the year for many uses. Sometimes its for Christmas, Sometimes its for a studio, but mostly its just a space for us to live and continue our ...

Brisket Hot & Fast on the Weber Smokey Mountain
Where have you been for the last 2 years???? Have you got another channel???
When did you start making videos
You start potatoes in already boiling water?🤔
This is so baddass and inspiring. I have a gazebo I want to convert into a bbq shack. I might just take a corner of the yard instead and make it 3 times the size like this! Amazing!
You should! It's made a massive difference to us being able to get out and cook all year round regardless of the weather.
Wow , I’m jealous. This is great. Wish I had one like this in Florida. Thanks for your video. Dan
Thanks for watching!
Hi Jim, I just found your channel today as I am in the market for a Big Joe III. Really loving the vids, well put together and informative. My question is not about the Big Joe but your skillets, I love them, where did you get them. Keep up with the good work. Simon
Awesome, thank you! Still trying to get my head around how youtube works!
Looks like you have a garage full of grills which are all obsolete.
lol yeah we have a few!
I’ve seen it 1 million times, Jim, but it’s always amazing. Money well spent. And yes, I Love the Christmas version!
Thanks Justin. So many people ask for build images etc on a weekly basis thought this would be a handy snapshot.... at least until I figure out how to make better content on here! lol Christmas shack would be my favourite!
Great video Jim. What cast iron pan are you using? Thanks
Mostly they are lodge pans but in this video we used a Petromax one without handles.
Love it Jim
Cheers James. Its just a quick glimpse at it. Must do something a bit more formal when I get some time.
Only just found your channel, really like your style. I have a classic 3 on order just a bit delayed due to covid. Im not a lamb fan but I like how you cook the vegetables. Hardly any youtubers show the veg & only focus on the main protein. I would like to see more of that please :-) Keep up the good work
Awesome! Thank you! I'll certainly keep that in mind. We try to do full cooks on the grills not just the proteins so hopefully we can get some more videos out like that.
Great back yard!
Thanks... we love it out here
Hi Jim have you found any faults or improvements you would recommend to KJ3, I expecting mines to arrive in August 2020 so i am reading and watching all videos on KJ3.
I haven't. It works a dream. Suppose if I was to be really picky Id like them to strengthen the divide and conquer arms as when the grills are on the top level without the sloroller it will flex a little. apart from that no.
What was in the spice mix that you put on? Looks nice
Great video. Looking forward to all your cooks.
Thanks Tommy. More to come!..... hopefully!
Arghhhh looks so good. I'm waiting for my Classic II in 2-3 weeks. Wish you had times on how you cooked this delicious looking layout!!
Hope you are enjoying your new Joe!
Where do you find brisket like that in Ireland?
This one was ordered in from a company in London called Hixson. Its hard to get decent brisket here.
Hi what’s that thing you put your brikets in? Thanks Maarten
Its a fuel dome from a company called ProSmoke BBQ
Looks awesome. Planning a brisket cook soon, found this very helpful
Thank you. Glad it was helpful!
Nice vid. Love to see the fun you 2 have. Can you cook like lasagnas and potato dishes/ stews on it. The big Joe is enorm but i can see how nice space is. Q; in your set up. Is it needed to fill up the chaok basket all the way up to get a good heat? In general does it need more then the Classic III?
Thanks, I generally use about the same amount of fuel in the Big Joe as the Classic. It possible to cook anything on them really. Ive not found anything we can't do yet.
I have to admit I need to upgrade from the Jr. That meal looked amazing but I have to say never put tomato based products in a cast iron as it removes the seasoning on the pan.
I don't find it too bad in mine. They are well seasoned as they get used multiple times per day. I did make a mistake with one a few years ago when making a sauce and stupidly added cider vinegar to deglaze the pan..... was in auto pilot and wasn't thinking!! was so annoyed with myself as I ruined the seasoning on that one!
Hi, I'm new to your channel, heard of you on Barbechoo, really delighted to see this video, might change my mind about the Komado Joe, guess I'll have to start saving the dosh...had been thinking about the Weber Summit.
Welcome aboard! Hope you're enjoying the videos. The Weber Summit is also a good cooker. Ive had one for a couple of years now.
Hello Jim, I just happened upon your channel. Very nice for a first video. I have the 22 inch WSM myself and enjoy grilling and smoking on it. Never done the hot and fast but I need to give it a try. I’ve seen many RUclips cookers doing it. Like your step-by-step concise instructional manner of this cook. I learned some new techniques that I can employ into my cooking That brisket looks awesome my friend! Also love the mods on your WSM! I liked, smashed that subscribe button, and rang the bell! TFS😎👌
Thanks! Glad you've enjoyed them. Its been ages since I last done a low and slow brisket, the hot and fast works so well.
Look great!!
Thanks you
Those blocks of halloumi - where did they get bought from? Looks great!
Those ones came from Tesco
Great video. Just venturing into the world of smoking and it's nice to see some non Americans showing us how it's done. Where are you ordering your meats from? Online butchers or somewhere local to you?
These came from Hixsons in London. Ordered online and delivered within 3 days
One of the BEST unboxing and detailed look at the setup and slow roller set up. Most guys speed through that part. I’m looking to buy a KJ3 when I return doe deployment in December.
Thank you. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
beer can chicken looks good! like all the quick videos on your channel, very professional nicely done! just subscribed look forward to seeing more ! cheers
Thanks, glad you're enjoying the videos.
Onlyslaggin BBQ no problem!
Purdy birdy
Love this recipe
Nice work Jim
Don’t trust me alone with these lol 😂
Well this is almost embarrassing 😂 another great video
Looks delicious Jim
Looking good. Can’t wait to give that butter a try.
Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think of it.
Good man Jim... Keep em comin! I like the style of these vids. Short, snappy and tasty! Whats next?! 😄
Thanks Pete, Hopefully more to come!
Love a Spatchcock Chicken 👍
Hello! If you only buy 1 KJ for a family of 4 with occasionally some friends, would you recommend the classic III or the big joe III? Thanks
Honestly in most instances the Classic 3 will be fine. I tend to use a lot of pans etc at the same time and already having the classic 2 the Big Joe 3 was a natural progression.
Onlyslaggin BBQ thanks for this response I’ve been back and forth on getting the extra large one vs the normal size KJ3.
Yeah the space is good. If the price doesn't put you off then go with the Big Joe. Always good to have more grilling space.
Onlyslaggin BBQ I went with the BJ3 with no regret at all! Thanks!
Hi Jim, I have the classic model but was thinking about moving up to the Big Joe. Do you find that you are using it more than your classic so far? I feel like the added room will be a huge benefit. Cheers.
I love the Big Joe 3, it does need a little more charcoal, and definitely needs more space.... it should come with its own postcode!! lol The added room is nice especially if you intend to use pots and pans at the same time.
Onlyslaggin BBQ Thanks for the reply sir.
Good to see you here. Where is your table from?
It was an old butchers block that had been laying in a guys barn for years. I bought it from him and reconditioned it.
Great video, really hungry now!
You and me both! lol Thanks glad you enjoyed it.
Loving the vids... Need more footage of the choco bear though :-)
More to come! That fella is never far away when BBQ is being prepared lol
That looked like an awesome tasty and a fun cook !
Thanks you. It was a fun cook.
Another fantastic cook Jim! Love me some lamb!! Videos are great. Cheers 🍻
Glad you like the videos Pete. Still trying to find my feet with them. The lamb was lovely such a great meat for BBQing
I can't find a decent brisket anywhere. Where did you get your meat?
This one was from Tom Hixson - Smithfield - London.
Really good video Jim! That KJ3 looks like a game changer, so many options and becoming a real one stop shop for all your needs, just need a PhD in barbecue for all its configurations
Totally agree! I can think of many other grills that have the versatility and include everything you need right out of the box.
good craic, and a great cook. It all looked lovely, pleased you didn't stir the tatties lol
😁 Thanks.... I should have mixed them for the craic!! lol
Looks absolutely brilliant
Thanks
Somehow my lasagne for dinner isn't looking so appealing now! Great bit of kit and a mighty fine spread.
So good
