Bobby Rock live with Slaughter: Heavy-hitter from Hell!!!
This is short clip of Bobby with the band Slaughter at the Verizon amphitheater in KC. From the Whitesnake tour a couple summers ago. The audio sucks because it was shot from the side of the stage. But they're playing Fly to the Angels and Bobby is digging in hard!!!

Bobby Rock - mindblowing drum soloist!!!

Check out the last minute or so of one of Bobby's live solos from The Zen of Drumming. Towards the end of this clip he's playing so fast it looks like the tape speeds up! Awesome!
Bobby Rock plays "The Octopus!"

This is a one-bar groove that features 22 different sound sources on Bobby's massive, 9-pedal drum kit. It takes over 3 minutes for him to just EXPLAIN how to play it. Sick! From The Zen of Drumming DVD.
He is a technical master, should be more well known to be honest, but he seems so chill and content, cool ass dude
far journeys, lightworker is underrated
I like Bob Rock. I always have but this is not “mind blowing” imo. More like ear blowing. It just sounds like noise.
Just an Absolute Beast!!
Sometimes more is more!
His independence is amazing - but MAN do those toms sound like puke...
Fucking badass Mr Rock badass!!!!
now you're just showing off.. jk
Bob still had that Berkley training in him. He can play anything and he is a true 80s metal drummer first
Saw a clinic with him when I was just starting playing- Westbrook, CT- 1990 or so- guy was amazing and incredibly friendly. Class act.
Yep, that's pretty insane... \m/ (:o)
Insane. I can't keep track of what order to stack my cases.
I want to see him do that Keyboard Drum duet like he did on Nelson so many years ago... anyone know a link?
he was one of my favorite drummers of all time! I wonder what he's been up to now. I met him at spitzer's music store in the valley in the 90's. I felt so bad when his pregnant wife was murdered at night in front of an ATM as reported in the southern california news in the early 90's. so sad...anyway, a real nice guy and incredible talent. I wish I could've taken lessons from him. he autographed my drumsticks but I broke them..[:-(
I didn’t know that!
He's a personal friend of my family's and is the most awesome drummer in the world with the biggest heart you'll ever find anywhere.
I saw a drum performance like Bobby's playin' here on Mr. Gábor Dörnyei's "Drum mastercourse" live in March 2013. What a technique! Thanks for upload.
That's the most practicle thing I've ever seen.....Oh wait.
Was this guy dropped on his head as a baby?
One of the best drummers (in the famous world) that I have ever had the pleasure to meet! I still have the one broken Pro-Mark drum stick that he cracked! Awesome guy!!!
This blokes great. His drumming is so over the top but in a good way.
I've got a drum-kit EXACTLY like this one. Except I've got 45 less things to hit on mine.
Rocky Rambo Cobra!!!
Holy fuck Peavey Radial Pros....always wanted a set of thoese
the Drum is on it's knees begging for mercy everytime he hit it..
Aw, you cut off before the part where he shoots the drums with a machine gun!
He had an accident where he lost his little child and his wife. His book The Encyclopedia of Groove, released in 1993, is one of the best and I recommend you to check out.
wow. he's playing openhanded. excellent. New respect.
LOLOLOL ITS RAMBONE.
LOLOLOL RAMBONE
LOLOLOL
br always struck me as a technical for technical's sake kind of player, like terry bozzio. forget that, i just wanna groove, freaks!
One of the kindest and nicest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. His drumming and teachings are amazing and his outlook on life is the same. A great drummer in his own right!!!
RAMBO!!!!
@noodledrummin1 i don't think you realize the skill and hours of practice it takes to get down a precise solid beat and rhythms and with such a huge kit.
Flalaski having a big kit doesn't make it harder to play a solid beat. You clearly know nothing about drumming.
How come Blas Elias isn't behind the drum kit?
whatever happened to playing an awesome groove with deep pocket on a simple kit. Quantity does not equal Quality,,,
@generatrix999 I have a strange feeling, that you couldn't do this pattern.
Billy Willy that puke was just totally trolling. I’ve seen this guy play at clinics he’s a real true musician and drummer. He has killer groove and pocket playing he also has a couple of amazing drum books with really really good stuff in them but idiots like that take a look at the cover and see the 80s look with the big hair, Yet it has a huge Latin and jazz section funk rudiment applications with double bass very impressive book
Yeahu! he was in nitro for the first album. thats why the drum solo in machine gun eddy is so epic. he also played in most of Angelo's solo albums.
shame you cant really see anything
this is inasane
I agree, this is a circus side show. Who would waste their time coming up with shit like this? B Rock is probably the most un-musical drummer (pro level) I've heard yet. I'll bet an ape could be taught a groove and have more feel.
He played with Batio right?
siempre es muy divertido ver a Bobby...esos ejercicios de disosiacion son un buen reto para cualesquiera...
I saw him at a clinic a few years back we chatted briefly afterwards and he gave me a free CD (signed, too). I'm not particularly fond of his style, but to say that Rock is snob is completely ridiculous. He was a very approachable, very grounded and nice guy.
Exactly!! Having worked with the guy and knowing how he applies what he does, there's nothing there that he doesn't use.
lol. your right man this is so funny!!!!!!!!
I'm a drummer, and did the whole 80's Hair thing. yada, yada, yada. 48 now, and still play a little. used to be "totally" in the loop with all this shit. who's in what band, who's playing with who. Lol so OUT of the loop these day. btw. ever hear of Denny Carmassi. try that guy for "old school" one of the best. probably my biggest influence in becoming a drummer, period. anyway, here's my question: what the F' happened to Blas? fired? sick? quit? bobbys totally bad-ass i will say. Peace
He came to my school and played for us drummers when I was in 7th grade. He looked like Schwartzenegger and watching him made me want to quit drumming.
Knowing and working with Bobby I don't agree at all. He's one of the nicest and coolest guys out there. He's very in tune with who he is, and is always willing to talk to fans
Your insane. I suggest you watch their drum videos. Rock is a thousand times better. Appice's video sucked.
