I agree to this. They make people confused! It really looks like RAV Vast. but of course not the sound. I am not appreciating how they are knocking off RAV Vast...

I agree with you 1000% The rubber rimmed Rav Vast- has the warmest sounds and the most haunting clarity. I remember playing it for the very first time. Man,.....I see STARs.....beautiful lights swirling everywhere , blinking and smiling back....hahahaha. So yes--Rav Vast IS the standard. the difference btwn the RV and the AQ :--- how their sounds are "created". The RV are tongues , held together by internal braces/skeleton. The braces controls the pitch/tonality. The AQ has tongues as well.....but the sounds are controlled by the circle around the tongues(NO braces). Making the AQ more towards the Handpan concept.The AQ may have a slightly steeper learning curve-- eg: finding the sweet spots on each note of the handpan. I love both RV and AQ.

HI!. I don't want to say that it "sounded" better. But I can say this.....it sounded good....or decent depending to what or which that you are comparing it to.. The "inexpensive" drum here is nitrided so it has a more porcelain sound- muted and rounded. Not as much sustain as stainless or ember steel. To me, the quality is decent....and I still do use it quite a bit. And with so many hands "beating it".....I am surprised that its still in tune.This is my only handpan that I allow kids to play on. The Meridian on the other hand- to me- has a slightly longer sustain. The sounds are fuller and more contain(no crosstalk btwn notes). But the price doubled the "inexpensive HP". So this video is just to compare and hopefully help someone make their decisions which to buy. The pros and cons. have a great day!

GM. That's the purpose! Yes, either relaxes you......and put you in a meditative state- calming the mind.....or to some, will put them to sleep. let and allow- the sounds and vibration to do that for you. Have a blessed day

GM! Download a tuner app. I use AppTuner on my iPhone. Only tune the notes that are "out of tune". And yes, you have to LEAVE the targets there. magnet(s) are to add weight to the tongue for tuning. With most drums, you are limited to a certain percentage of tuning. You cannot change a C note to an F note- thats too "much " of a range.Most drum(s) , you can do 1 whole note- C to a D, or C to a B. Again, all depends on the tongue and magnets. now to the HAPPY drum......HAPI drum is the name of the company ( hapidrum.co ). I purchased it directly from them. They also make tunable version. Sorry about the background music. It was playing when I decided to make the impromptu video.......

Yes , Its easy to go down that rabbit hole. in the light of truth- quality drums has its perks- and quality does show(95% of the time). its almost like comparing Mercedes and a Kia. Both get you from point A to point B.....but prices- differs vastly. Buy what you can afford, to start your journey. Once you feel that you are ready....or financially able to..... then go get your "Mercedes" drum. Until then, we enjoy what we have. We enjoy our journey. Have a blessed day.
