Totally inaccurate regarding the evolution of sales. For example LAV had not sold only 2.5 m when TB was released.

Everyone always says the numbers are fake. Then how will we ever know? Think about all the albums sold but never counted. Do one for Janet Jackson. She's a big seller.
I figured Falling Into You would be at the top. But Let's Talk About Love is not great. Titanic song put it there. The Colour of my Love is hanging in there! But I can't believe A New Day has Come is that high. It's mediocre.

I've read Immaculate Collection is the biggest selling Greatest Hits of all time. I can't believe how high on the sales list Evita is, but it's a double album, so it counts as 2. Also can't believe how much Something to Remember and GHV2 have sold. True Blue was huge in 1986 but when I listen to it now, other than the 5 iconic singles, the rest is just filler. Like a Prayer and Ray of Light are much better albums. Cool to watch this, though.

This isn’t accurate data. I’m pretty sure it’s been reported that Stripped has sold over 14 million units and also Liberation debuted with 100k sales so that number is too low. Also both Bionic and Lotus are certified gold in the US so their sales should be closer to 1 million each…

It's so weird to me that Back To Basics sold so low with how well the singles from it performed. Its not like the album wasn't promoted. And Christina was still very much in her prime. I'm confusion.
The early years are questionable in my opinion, as far as Thriller and Off The Wall are concerned. Thriller had passed the threshold of 35 million in late 1983 and 38 million copies sold in 1985 according to Guinness book of that year. Also, according to RIAA, Off the Wall was certified double platinum by December 1979. This means already 2 million copies sold and it continued to sell even more in 1980 and 1981. So there are some mistakes but i think the recent 2022 total sales account is correct. In the end the video shows the real numbers.

"Rebel Heart" sold 975k units in 2015 and sales are already around 2.5 million units as now being a TOP 3 catalog seller on iTunes for Madonna every year during the past 8 years. "MDNA" sales were already over 3.5 million worldwide as 2019 (it's Madonna best selling album in Russia and Ukraine - and among her best selling albums in Turkey and other countires).

these days there’s more competition between artists because of social media… everybody gets a platform! the market is pretty overcrowded and it is even more difficult to stand out and have a lasting career… and btw not every artist who is popular on social media is necessarily successful! Selena Gomez is the most followed singer in the world but the hasn’t even sold 50 millions, because being popular on Instagram is a thing, releasing hits is an other thing

What? No this video is FAKE. According to IFPI "Like a Prayer" sold 9.7 million copies in 1989 alone. As 1990 when "Blond Ambition Tour" was starting sales were already over 11 million pure sales WW. As 1992 (as "Erotica" release) "Like a Prayer" sales were said to be at over 14 million pure sales WW. As 2000 (as "Music" release) "Like a Prayer" sales were said to be at over 17 million pure sales WW. As 2023 is estimated that "Like a Prayer" already sold over 19 million units WW - a remaster edition (that never happened) would certainly push it past 20 million.
