Lisbon Tram. Speed 3D Model Project with Maya part1.
My first speed modeling video:) This spring's modeling project was the Lisbon #28 tram in Portugal from available photo references. Fast forward 24 hours of modeling into less than an hour. Part 2 will be interior and textures. Thanks for watching!

This is a combination of two school projects for final presentation. Music was made in Ableton using explosions and gunfire etc, animation was done in Maya, and video editing in Adobe Premiere.

Awesome!!
wow! is there anyway we could have access to this training module ??
I hope this message reaches well. I'm in need of your assistance, I work for the United States Army and would like to use your product and your advice to in the pursuit to add it to our curriculum/ training aid. If you would be willing to help, I would be willing to compensate you for your time. Please write back at your next convenes, and thank you in advance.
curious why you havn't modelled animations, wouldn't you love to see it actually running? what i see here is a static 3d-model which is half the job in my hersal oppinion. modelling the airflow and burn and of course adding the sound would make it a bit more useful for training purposes. I also see the APU missing which would complete the process. I mean this is nice work, but so partial concepted unfortunately. Please let me know your thoughts.
Hi thanks for the comment and interest. Animation would definitely be great to add someday. One day I’d like to come back to this and refine some things and add a lot more for sure. The APU is it’s own animal but you’re right. It would be great to show the whole start up process from the APU start button to engine start to NP / NR 101 and APU off. But as you can see the scope needed to be narrowed even just to get the modeling done for the engines. It would be fun to model and animate all systems actually.
I look forward to seeing this at the user level , this would be a great learning aid for pilots and maintainers.
Awesome work! Is there any chance to get 3D models?
This is beautiful. Now teach me how it werks.
Lol sure. I’ll give you the short version. All combustion engines work on the “suck, squeeze, bang, blow” process. Air is brought in through the forward cold section where it is put into a centrifugal motion for particle separation and compression. It is compressed in a multi stage compressor section for combustion and to serve anti ice / bleed air. The compressed air then flows into the midsection to be mixed with metered fuel for combustion. The combustion of air and fuel is then guided through the stages of the hot section where it is converted into mechanical energy which turns the shaft running back to the forward part of the engine into the nose gearbox, then to the main transmission which turns the main rotor. Exhaust comes out of the exhaust section of course. How much fuel is metered and how much air is compressed is a function of gross weight, pressure altitude, and outside air temperature. This also will determine power available. That’s the down and dirty version. Thanks for your interest!
Hi, that's awesome! Is there any way to get that software?
Have you continued to refine this project?
This project is on hold currently but I have plans to move it forward with in the next year. Thanks for your interest!
How
Double awesome, currently trying to design this thing for 3d printing for my 700 size rc scale.... these details are going to help a alot, time to start again :) tkx best Iv'e come accross
This is amazing. I hope the army adopts whatever you work on.
Could use some animation showing air flow, combustion, etc.
As someone who works on this engine, this is awesome to see
