It's flexible but for 1vs1 mists overall cowl is going to synergize with badon noticeably more. Plus missing out on kills or dying because you wanted to cheap out and save 200-300k is just a horrible mindset for mists.

There are no more alternative offensive swap but you can use defensive ones for increasing your survival like soldier helmet, hunter hood or guardian helmet

You are right. Mage cowl is not useful for badon. You should make full spec for your main set then use combat points for other armors in the same tree
