    Im haveing a similar issue the car wont start it cranks over ok. The security light is flashing i got it put on a computer and the immobiliser is faulty is there any way of bypassing it or a place that can remove the immobiliser

      @RoofboxCamping if you Google search "Quatum-Auto is300 immobilizer delete" you'll find a service that offers the immobilizer delete for IS300 ecus.

    I'd like to do this to my gs300 someday. To run itb's though, do you have to run an aftermarket ECU? I know there are some guys in Russia, Tuning/Re-mapping ECU's for 01+ Toyota/Lexus'. The only build info i've really seen online for an n/a 2j is Brendan Taft's build (NA HERO). Great looking and great sounding car you have there 🤙

      Thanks man, yeah you will 100% need to run a standalone computer. The stock ecu will not be able to control ITBs, even with a re-map. There is no MAF sensor with an ITB setup, so the mapping is controlled thru throttle position/rpm (alpha N).

      It feels great, currently stock IS300 LSD rear end but I'd like to eventually swap to FRS/BRZ rear end to make it a perfectly matched gear ratio combo.

    I've been looking to ITB my personal IS and I have a list of parts down but I'm sure I'm missing something: So I've got the ITB kit i want to run itself, 2.5 inch diameter fig headers, custom catless midpipe since I couldn't find a branded one I liked, I already have a Tanabe Medallion Touring S catback on it, I'm looking at fueling mods like bosch 440cc injectors, a flex fuel kit (just bc e85 is readily available around me and I wanted to give it a shot), a SPEC stage 2 street clutch, Brian Crower spec 264 stage 2 cams, I've budgeted for whatever ECU a prospective tuner would feel most comfortable running, budgeted for a clutch safety bypass to prevent crankwalking (probably unnecessary since the clutch isn't so so aggressive and the car shouldn't be pushing a ton of power, but better safe than sorry imo), and I have a catch can in mind for the chance that I end up getting a lot of blow-by. Is there anything I'm missing still? Thx.

      Everything you listed seems fine. The biggest factor, besides the actual ITB kit, will be ecu/tuning.

      The bottom end is unopened. I had the same setup on a high compression build and it made the same power as the stock bottom end. I think the cams are the limiting factor, and would make the most difference. High compression with more lift/duration would probably really wake this motor up. I'm planning to install BC 264/264 on this current set up and see what happens.

    Ive been planning on this for sometime, there arent many companies that make itbs for this motor so ive been struggling with that as well as deciding on which stand alone to run with the setup. Id really like to pick your brain about what youve done with yours if you dont mind. The car looks and sounds great.

      Pros: they are a dime a dozen to find at junkyards, I used car-part.com to find mine locally. They're going for $250-$350, which is a fraction of what you'll find for a w5x. The gearing pairs well with the IS300 rear ends, and if you swap the FRS rear end, then it makes for a perfect combination. They can take the same amount of torque that a w5x will handle, which makes it a great candidate for an NA setup. The 6th gear should improve MPGs as well. The shifter feels really smooth, though I will admit a w5x with the stock IS300 shifter is hard to beat as far as how smooth the throw is. Cons: it is not a native transmission to the IS300, so there are some things that have to be done to make it all work. There are 2 ears cast on the sides of the bellhousing where the FRS/BRZ starters would mount. They interfere with the trans tunnel, so some clearancing was required. The factory external slave/shift fork are located at the top of the bellhousing, which will not work either. So Xcessive Mfg designed an adapter kit to convert to a hydraulic slave cylinder. I will continue in the next post.

      The cool part about this swap is how Xcessive has a clutch kit option to adapt to the single mass 2J flywheel or an FRS clutch/flywheel/pressure plate. So there are options depending on where you're starting from, whether you're converting from w5x to TL70 or swapping from auto to manual. I would recommend this swap if you're planning to go auto to manual because there are expenses that will be made regardless of which route you take. Those being: clutch/flywheel/pressure plate, driveline, clutch pedal kit, hydraulic lines and fittings, master cylinder, shifter. All of these can be conveniently sourced through Xcessive if you were to opt for this swap, or a w5x swap for that matter as well. So really all you have to source on your own is the transmission, which brings me back to why I would recommend a TL70. They are a lot easier to come by, and they cost about 1/3 of the price of a w5x. You're getting a 6 speed transmission, newer tech, and less mileage effectively cheaper than a w5x swap unless you come across a killer deal on a manual IS part out locally.

I'll check their website from time to time for any updates. I hope you'll consider doing a few WOT video's once everything is sorted and mount the camera/mic near the ITB's as well. So awesome.     Bro, you are literally a pioneer in the IS300 world. I've seen maybe 3 IS300s with ITBs, and that's only in the last 2 years because before that there were NONE. AND yours is the first video of one I can find. PLEASE show us more along the way, I wanna know EVERYTHING.
