In college, I had a bit I did that paid homage to Carson's humor. My character was "Vernac the Mediocre". Here's a sample... "Pokemon" (ripped open an envelope) "What is a Jamaican proctologist called?"

I always loved the great Carnac.

I was watching that first Carnac. Saw Lenny Bruce show up, LOADED, incomprehensible as so often. Carson nervous throughout, "Don't say anything bad, Lenny!" Only standup available then, on TV. Saw Carlin, early black comic.... not many.
