This is the easternmost stretch of the Timberland Hills segment of the Ice Age Trail starting at the 32 Lake Road and 30th Avenue Trailhead and heading east until arriving at the Timberland Hills Ski Area Trailhead on County Road H (which is also 3rd Street). This day was sunny and cool with the temperature around 50 degrees and light winds. Hike started at about 9:30AM.

      WEST END TRAILHEAD: Hopkins Depot 9451 Excelsior Boulevard Hopkins, MN 55343 Note: Take the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail WEST to 11th Avenue, then turn LEFT (south). Look for the directional arrow signs at the intersection. EAST END TRAILHEAD (this is where I start from in the video): This is at the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refugre - Bloomington Education and Visitor Center This is basically at the very east end of American Boulevard, a major east-west road in Bloomington. Address is 3815 American Blvd E, Bloomington, MN 55425

      Sorry for delay. There aren't any SHT campsites south of Martin Road until you get to Red River Camp just before reaching the Wisconsin Border. It will take most people three or four days to hike from Martin Road to the Wisconsin Border. So first day consider a hotel in Duluth. There may be a better (or cheaper) option than this, but I don't know of it. On day two you should be passing near Spirit Mountain Campground by Spirit Mountain Recreation Area. There is a fee to camp here. Another option if you are far enough along the trail is reserving one of the campsites in advance that are close to the SHT where it passes through Jay Cooke State Park. These are state park campsites.
