If you're gonna get into this business thinking outside the box is key to being successful.. Dont be scared to get on the phone or go in person and work with customers directly especially if you're local. You will be saving them money cutting out the broker and putting money in your pocket avoiding a broker/dispatch service.. Also if you're delivering ask for a Logistics/Warehouse manager seeing if you can bid on some of their lanes, its an easier conversation while already there. I was a broker for 7 years and worked with all the big box stores all across the US, if you have questions just ask.

Hello, I am a new subscriber! I just started my business but there is so many things I have to learn. I having issues with insurance because they say I need to have the vehicle already in order to get insurance. But I decided to go the rental route starting off before purchasing my first truck. The rental companies have commercial insurance. So is it necessary for me to obtain my own insurance even though the rental companies offer it?? Is it the same type of coverage and insurance??

Box trucks don't need CDL drivers or consortiums unless the are a GVWR of 26001 and above. I have a 33K GVWR and that's the reason my truck requires a CDL driver. But my truck can often command a higher pay rate as well.

I like the way you described the purposeful way to hire drivers with attentiveness in route planning and meaningful intent to execute with perfection to keep the clients and customers interest at hand.
