This fine group of Munros make for a spectacular ridge-walk in an extremely remote part of the Highlands. The tiring walk back along the north side of Loch Mullardoch completes an extremely long day.

The River Spey Canoe adventure is one of the UK’s ‘Classic Canoe Descents’ that all canoeists have on their must-do list. This canoe expedition is a true source to sea journey if you choose to launch high up in the Cairngorm Mountains by Newtonmore or do what most groups do by starting at Loch Inch by Kincraig during Summer for a guaranteed trip, following the river down to Spey Bay on the east...

What size are the barrels? Just git a canoe and prepping for spring 25. Enjoyed the vid Ta
THANKS FELLAS
Nice one. Looking to head to Scotland for a pike fishing trip from Ireland and am liking the looks of loch ken so far from videos. Do you know is there a place to rent rooms at the lake or can you just wild camping the lake and no one will bother you as long as you have your fishing permits ? Thanks
Entertain series. What time of year did you do this
I love those lochs, one of them as ye may know used to hold monsters.....now its fuckin ruined!! But a great vidoe sir of some of my favourite hill lochs...keep them coming👏🎣🎣🎣
Aye there is some special ones….going to just keep ticking them off till I find the monsters. Need to pull my finger out and learn how to fly fish right.
Greetings munro stomper. I enjoyed your video thank you. The memorial is to Thomas Withers, who was a member of the Ayr and Kilmarnock hill walking club. I met him several times in the 1970's in the Galloway Hills (at least twice at Loch Enoch) and when staying at White Laggan bothy, shortly after it opened in 1971. He was a lovely man and we got talking about motorbikes. He was retired at that stage and wanting to sell his beautiful BSA A10 650 cc bike with sidecar. I would have loved it but couldn't afford the insurance as I was a student at the time. I visited him at home in Catrine (I think) to see the bike and we had a great chat. I last met him in the hills about 1978. PS I camped with friends on the ground behind the beach near the memorial in 1970.
Thanks for that Douglas it’s much appreciated. You have an amazing memory….i on the other hand forget what I went up the stairs for 🤣😂 White Laggan is still in good order however I was at blackhill of bush bothy the other week and so one has set one of the rooms on fire.
The troot in the third loch were best looking yins by far they were braw a guid adventure and you managed tae keep the mepps oot o the dugs mouth 😂😂
I a wouldn’t mind spending more time on the third one with the full fishing gear….i think there’s bigger ones in it. 🤣😂🤣 I don’t know what I say on the videos half the time.
What breed is the dog ? Bonny looking dog
@patrickburns406 i don’t actually know but I think it’s a Patterdale terrier.
@patrickburns406 I think it’s a paterdale cross bot not entirely sure.
Great footage! Done the first three yet to do the other two, some of the best views up there when its clear.
Another great trip, every time you struck into a fish 🐟 I was waiting for the drag to go, but great sport in a stunning location, pity enough that bothy, as you said people just can't behave themselves 😢. Atb Tam
Always looking for that big one 🤣. Yeah the few waste it for the rest of us unfortunately.
Stunning location mate, love the pup 🐶 he's a wee belter, nice fish 🐟 at the last lochan 👍. Atb Tam
Hopefully it will all come together again and get back in the swing of things.
Just did the Forcan Ridge. There are a few moments where you have to look twice for an easier route when you don't have ropes. Amazing place!!!
Whats the name make of that tent
OneTigris Backwoods Bungalow I think….had to search it there lol
@@munrostomper2325 like look off it with the firebox
Aye it’s a cracking we tent when the weathers not good and your in and out all the time….not got a floor on it so don’t need to bother with keeping it clean….got wee bits at the side to keep gear off the ground but that’s it
What time of year did you do this hike? Thanks
That was November 2022 i think?
@@munrostomper2325 Amazing I'm planning to do this Nov and wasn't sure if the scramble with snow would be too sketchy
@@IsabelleMahoney-o6t I don’t think the time of the year is the problem it’s more the conditions. It’s not to be underestimated and with ice and snow I would be wanting ropes for sure.
I'm watching this after being in there 5 days ago doing the 4 of them and in your words,"they 4 kicked my ass"🥵 and that was with me taking the boat up the Loch to do the route in reverse from you. They really are big hard days out there and these were were last of the 12 for me. Total respect for anyone who can go ut there and do the 12 in one go.😀👏👏 I hope you got back to do the others at some point? Thanks for sharing your experience.😀👍🏴
Yes i agree you need to be supper fit for them thats for sure. I havent been back up a hill in scotland sins i have been focusing on building a camper so its fair to say any hill will be kicking my ass now.
Hey! Love the video! What make is your kayak and oars?
the raft is Alpacka Caribou - Ultralight Bikeraft i cant remeber what the oars are but i know there a 4 part carbon
Hiya lads, what permits do you need for fishing loch ken? Cheers.
most local shops will sort you out with a permit
Where abouts in Ken loch were you guys
It is such a great place. Ive camped here many a time
Nice vid mate. The humour is excellent. Im going to be paddling the river with a few others in May, hopefully with no swims. Ill post the vid on my channel.
Thanks mate. It was either laugh or cry 😅. Will give you a wee follow and see the vid when you put it up 👍
Fantastic mate, what a trip 👏 Looks amazing, well done 👏
Took me longer to make the videos than it did to do the walk 🤣
How is the flotation block held in?
Very nice Corbett but it was not like that when I walked it. It was in February and there was a late heavy dump of snow. Really hard going through soft snow. Then I met a girl who had gone all the way along the ridge with cross-country skis. She had done a bigger trek with a fraction of the effort, although she would still have had to carry them up the hill. Loved watching this!
Thanks it’s much appreciated….always wanted to do a hill/munro and come down it on the snowboard 🏂
Brilliant mate, glad you got a phone charging cable, pasta and 2 pints nice 1, nice camping 🏕 spot at the end 👌 😋 👍
Cheers bud….thats the Scottish coming out in me 🤣
Nice video and views. Reliving the Dolomites vibes again 😎
Superb mate, what a place, pity about your cable, hopefully you picked one up. Looking forward to the next one.😊
Respect lads looked like a good time. I’m doing it in march i Need help with logistics where did you leave your van at Spey bay ?
Just in the car park at the centre right beside the river/ sea
Hi great videos what tent setup is this?
It’s one tigris but can’t remember the name of the tent and same with the stove I just know it’s titanium
Great adventure guys. Which loch?
Which Loch is it?
You really captured some amazing footage, maybe one day I’ll see some of it for myself. Need to get fit though 😂
Thanks bud…. Just cheat like I did and go up the lifts 🤣.
@@munrostomper2325 I like it 😆 👍
Crazy views and weather. Best wishes.
Been waiting patiently for this 1 bud, I would have been shitting myself in the thunder and lightning storm, some amazing shots even when the weather turned, it has to be on my bucket list, outstanding 😀.
I cut a lot of me talking about the lighting out I defo was shitting myself. I am glad I took the time to film it….it’s surprising how much I forget of the walk already 😂.
@munrostomper2325 it's a fantastic memory to have.
were you getting bothered by crayfish lads?
Haven’t seen one for years
Wow 😍 Incredible. I want to go!!
Get planning 😅
Your pop up float should be attached to the head end of rig to prevent wire trace folding under the weight of your bait and risking a pike biting your main line. Those pop up rigs are sold on ebay and are rubbish.
Looking forward to following this journey, brilliant 👏 wot a place 😊
It was everything I had hoped for and more 😍
@@munrostomper2325 I bet it was, class
What a trip mate, looks absolutely amazing 👏, FANTASTIC
Absolutely breathtaking. Hope you enjoyed the beers once back to the valley floor 👍
Maybe a bit to much 🤣 setting up a tent in the dark was tricky.
It’s a sardine by the looks of it
They ruin it for other people. Why can't they take their bloody litter home 😢
Good effort mate. It always looks easier on paper, good man for giving it a go, been thinking about this for a while now, my plan is make it to the low point after munro 4, up the next day and take it from there, tough gig all the same, thanks for sharing ATB Tam
Cheers tam, Aye was a killer in the heat and no water up top after the first munro. That was my plan too and prob after a nights sleep would have been half ok to continue…..still a big day on the second day mind. I think after you hit the first munro on the other side of the loch that’s you half way distance wise.
@munrostomper2325 Cheers mate, hopefully on the list for next season 👍
I thought that it was over run with crayfish, or is that going back a few years ago now.
It was for a while but I thing something got done about it as I haven’t seen one in a few years.
Is it free fishing, and i noticed your car in the background. Where abouts did you fish on the loch, i didn't know you could get so close to the waters edge with the car.
Can you tell us the brand or name of the tent again please, thanks
It’s the lanshan 2 by 3ful 👌🏻
Inspiring stuff. Well done. Working up the courage to packraft it but will likely try the lower bits a couple of times before travelling up river and doing the whole thing.
Would defo need the knee straps to hold you in….I have the caribou so not the best packraft to do it in….absolutely love it right enough.
@@munrostomper2325 yikes hadn't considered that! Figured I could ride it out. I've got Anfibio Delta MX, I'll check if they do straps for it.
Coup on the easy bits then coup on the washing machine! Awesome stuff well done. Got a link for those barrels? 😂
🤣😂 free to a good home 🤦♂️
Cannae believe yous just got rods out and fished where you liked! People get shot for that on the Spey. Can't see why you couped. Glad to see you saw the funny side of it all.
I know….asking for trouble wasn’t we. It was submerged trees…could have been a lot worse with the low hanging ones…was lucky a few times for sure.
Fantastic vid bud. I done this route a few years ago in reverse covering the 3 munros and the wildcamp at loch loch. After watching your vid I wish I had packed my fishing 🎣 rod. Nice vid and great edit. Thanks for sharing ATB Tam 😊
I watched your video bud that’s how I knew there was camping spots and the way up……all down to you bud 🤣😂 I just play about with the videos in my spare time….there good to look back on.
@@munrostomper2325 Fantastic 👌
A tough gig in the heat, i've still to do these and i'm unsure about doing them all in one trip or breaking it up. Just the water situation as i know there's not many sources on the ridge. But good effort , i had a similar trip in Fisherfield in the heat ...tough going ...cheers Stevie
Not my best decision 😂. There is a wee lochen but that’s the only water I seen when I did it. These ones floored me for some reason.
What an amazing place, thanks for sharing 👍
thank you
Amazing Colin. Looks incredible. Well Done 💪🏼
Just trying to keep them short but have all the good bits in them lol
