Great video! On my 10yr old cooler, the bearing on the other side (no flywheel) is seized. I’ve removed the metal u-shaped flange cover off the bearing, leaving behind the rubber “ball” with oil filler, but It has a metal collar with a hex-nut to hold it in place, that must slide off first. I’ve removed the hex, but the collar won’t move! Can’t turn it with even a pipe wrench, banged on it, penetrating oil etc. Would that puller work on this? Any ideas to get it off or is beyond saving?

Thanks for this video! I vaguely knew something about using a "puller" of some sort for this project, but I wasnt sure of the name, and dreaded the thought of having to buy one once I figured out what it was called. The possibility of renting one from AutoZone is a total game changer! I do handyman jobs and maintenance for a few small assisted living homes in Metro Denver. The high today is supposed to reach 96°, IN EARLY JUNE! And the evaporative cooler at one of the homes isn't working. Turns out the pillow block bearings need replacing, but I can't replace one of them without removing the pully wheel first. Now that i know which tool to use, and where to find it, I'll be able to get the evaporative cooler up and running in no time. Half dozen elderly people will be much more comfortable, and very grateful! Thanks for your help!

I have issues with my GV XL7 2.7 V6, rough idling after replacing ICAV but i did not replace the pcv valve. I noticed that my battery was very low and needs replacement which i have not done. I wanted to solve the rough idling first. Can you help me with it? Thanks in advance

Man I have looked and looked. This is the only video I have found on it.

Those screws do not hold UP anything. They do hold the bearing in place on the cross support that DOES hold UP that end of the blower shaft. Moving the pillow block does not balance anything. It does align the blower, but it doesn't balance it.

My water pump would work, then it wouldn't work, all that salty build up like yours. Cleaned it spun it, shook it, still it worked when it felt like working. Didn't want to spend 50$ on new pump. Got an idea!!. Vinegar cleans salt off. Like your pump in this video I assumed salt had built up inside plastic housing as well. So.... I took pump and submerged pump( motor and all) into undiluted vinegar... say 1 hour. Shook it, spun it, put back in vinegar for 1 hour, then did same thing with clear water for... say 15 min, shook, banged again put 8n clear water for 15 min again, dried in sun for a day, oiled top and bottom of shaft, spin. Now it turnes on every time, quite pleased....so far. Most things I do are not recommended, my advantage.

You have to be a research scientist this is what everyone needs to successfully easily use the puller for any Hollow shaft you need the shaft plug it comes in different sizes relative to the size of your Hollow shaft it's called the squirrel cage shaft plug

The center black bolt doesnt turn for anything! The Black Bolt is screwed all the way down and this is a brand new pulley it's never been used and that Black Bolt will not move for anything no matter how much you lubricate it or anything it won't budge it's like welded in place I guess it's worthless this tool is the most worthless tool I've ever seen

Damn it would have been nice if u would have started your tutorial at the beginning of your repair because Im looking at this thinking yeah, it looks different then mine and I think something is wrong with the way something is sitting in there but cant tell because you already removed the belt and whatever else so I dont really know fot sure but its as if my bearing oil or whatever is leaking out everywhere cus its all over the bottom like the day after putting oil in it winds up on the floor of the cooler right there next to the wheel.

I used my angle grinder to chop the bearing off when it was stuck.

I know this is old but if the brass bearing is not ment to move. How does it get oiled. I know the oil cap is there. But i dont see a way for the oil to get into the brass sleeve and shaft. Its supposed to be dry. Im nee to this i just dont understand how it works. Thank for the video its helping me learn allot
