Respiratory rate 18 over the clearly dead pt….. i’m the one who’s dead 💀 some people really don’t count the resp rate because they’re doing too much already and it “takes up time.” Like yes their breathing is fine if they’re able to talk to you with normal breathing but if they’re resp rate is over 20, and they have a fever, you could get a flag in epic for sepsis warning. You have to chart everything for vitals. Patients with infections don’t always show all the signs at once. Early intervention and proper documentation make a huge difference in pt outcomes

Saying "declined" or "refused" WITHOUT CONTEXT is the problem. E.g. patient refused or declined medication as pt states it's "poison" vrs pt reports a history of hives when taking said med . Giving no context gives no information at all except that you didnt give the med

10:45 yup 👍🏽 😳 I was one of those women in active labor that got nauseous and that’s what they offered me, a packet of 4 saltine crackers 😑 and I about lost cussing out the doctor for even suggesting that I EAT SOMETHING while I’m so nauseous I about puked in his smug face and told him to leave, he was upsetting me 🤣 the nurses absolutely loved it because they were arguing with my doctor about giving me some Zofran and he was just being a d*ck because he could 😢 it turned out that I needed an emergency c-section and I got my zofran anyways, this wasn’t my regular ob, he was just arriving from another c-section, I thought I had broken my water, but no, the nurses said they thought my placenta had abrupted (small area torn away from the uterine wall) because it was a puddle of blood I was sitting in, not amniotic fluid 😢 they had my son out of my tummy in under 25 minutes and it felt like I’d been torn apart 😢 I couldn’t breathe afterwards because the pain was so bad 😢the numbing meds were wearing off and I could barely talk to tell them I hurt so badly, I was given 4 shots of dilaudid, 3 shots of morphine and IV Tylenol and finally I could breathe again.

9:11 I was in isolation for the entirety of my 5 week stay in the hospital, every single person had to gown, glove and mask up 😷 because they needed the protection from what I had, MRSA-pneumonia 😢 And I needed protection from anything else my nurses, doctors, therapists and visitors were exposed to. I was on Vancomycin for 6 weeks and did the 6th week of IV antibiotics at home 😊 my husband and I were given some training on how to do this at home and it was good 👍🏽 and the doctors really wanted to get me out of the hospital and in my own home because they said people convalesce better at home if it’s safe to do so and I got lucky because I have a ton of help at home with 3 of my sons living with me, one of which is training to be an in-home caregiver for his disabled brother 🥰🤗

2:16 omg 😳 I had an IV pump almost constantly beeping at my nurses and it was driving everyone crazy because I couldn’t sleep through that loud alarm 😢😅 I was just in the hospital for septic shock and respiratory failure from MRSA-pneumonia and my husband said at one point I had about 14 separate IV pumps all running some kind of medication into me😢 they put me in a medical coma for 13 days, 2 bronchoalveolar lavages, 3 different pressors at once which made the complication of dry gangrene on my hands and feet, with my feet taking the worst of the damage. I’m probably gonna lose my right pinky toe from the dry gangrene, but that’s a very small price to pay for keeping my life 😢🤗🥰🙏🏽 I was on a very powerful immunosuppressant medication for my rheumatoid arthritis and it’s called Xeljanz - pronounced “zell - jans” and I miss it so much 😢because it was the best RA medication I’ve tried in 20 years of battling this disease. I miss it because it was providing most of the pain relief for my RA pain, now I’m not on anything to control my RA, I can’t take any immunosuppressants until the dry gangrene is all healed ❤️‍🩹 and that’s not quite there yet, I still have 2 more appointments with the wound care clinic and then it’s just monitoring my poor pinky toe, although my podiatrist said that since it’s still attached to my body, i was in the hospital in late May and all of June and just about everything else is healed eschar-wise except pinky toe, since it’s still hanging on, my doctor said that there’s an extremely thin chance that there’s some kind of stub of a toe left in there and he wants to wait it out 😅which is my absolute least favorite thing to do, but I can if I must. It would be so cool to get to keep my toe, but if it has any issues or increased pain, I may ask him to amputate it, but like I said he wants to wait to see if the amazing human body can come back from what I went through. I had a tracheostomy for a little under 2 weeks and that was an experience and a half, I didn’t know that since I had that cannula in my throat, that it would be speech therapy to dictate whether I could eat solid food or not 😅

As a neurosurgeon nurse which the ward is a specialty ward where all the brain problems solved there, we have ICA and ICU just next room to our general ward room. And yes, I almost kissed the IV pumps bcuz of how complete and how they have everything inside the ICA and ICU.

7:10 i was the opposite while taking my NCLEX but the same state of mind after finishing. Questions 1-5 "wow those were pretty easy" questions 6-75 "OMG, was that the "best" answer? When did we learn this? Holy crap it cut off at 75? Did i just fail at the minimum length of questions?" Was so convinced i bombed it. Had my golf clubs in the trunk of my car. Stopped and hit golf balls at the driving range for like 2 hours until my arms were numb in 95 degrees weather. Got in my car still only able to think about failing. Thought about doing the re-register trick to try to get early results and immediately decided against it. Can't register for another test for a few weeks anyway and had some major work to do on my house so not applying for jobs for a few weeks. Was so sure i failed. i didnt pay for early unofficial results until week 3...and i passed. 😂 also my official results took a couple more weeks. So California might be faster than NC. Also before taking the test they make you agree to not share test questions and answers with anyone after taking the test. I dont actually remember a single question. Not even like 2 minutes after finishing. Everything was a blur. I do remember taking the optional new form of questions they are thinking about using in the future and after taking those i feel sorry for anyone taking the nclex in the next few years. Those things are far worse than select all that apply and fill in the blank. 10:22 lol i knew the answer was going to be crackers. Every single time we had a question that had an answer that said "give them crackers", the correct answer was to give crackers.

Today, I'm a 6-day-old new grad RN who just got off of 8-weeks of orientation. I was a CNA for 8 years. These meme videos either made me cry or laugh. Thank you.

All they do is look for random things wrong with you and try to sell you on stupid drugs they want to inject you with...Weirdest people I know..And none of them are ever healthy...They think life is reality tv...TV has way too many hospital shows...Nothing cool about working stirring up illness so you can pretend like you save people's lives...Death is a choice...These people seek it out and gossip about it...Disgusting, rude, arrogant...Go create a job or teach someone a trade if you want to save people...we spend too much money building hospitals for these people to hang out in and pretend like they are saving the world..Sick people love being around other sick people...
