Keeping the wheels on modern and classic motorcycles turning. I decided to open my own channel to give something back for all the times I've used RUclips to help when I get a problem with motorcycle repairs. It will mainly be on some interesting projects that I'm doing for myself but I'll also try to upload some videos of problems I've encountered on customers bikes and solved to hopefully help some of you out as well. We will also try to review some of the products that we use to help us along. Thanks for looking and give us a thumbs up if you like the videos and consider subscribing if you want to see similar things that we're doing, cheers 👍

Lexmoto Isca 125 Oil level issue, must watch if changing your own oil
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Год назад
Iv changed the oil on lots of Isca's now and I notice this every time. If the oil window is half full you've probably only got 500ml of oil in your engine. The Isca should hold 1 litre of oil. #lexmoto #oilchange
Yamaha Exup Servo Motor Repair

This is a fix I did on a Yamaha Fzs1000 Fazer Exup servo. It should be the same principal on most of the Exup Servos on other Yamahas with the Exup valve fitted. Its also a must to check the actual Exup valve in the exhaust is moving freely and the two cables are in good condition and tensioned correctly. Hope it helps

Vacuum fuel pump problem solved on a Aprilia Habana 125 Scooter
Просмотров 25 тыс.3 года назад
Just a short video showing the problems I found and solved with the vacuum fuel pump on an Aprilia Habana 125 but the principal will be very similar to any scooter with a vacuum fuel pump. The pump i used was from www.racingplanet.co.uk but they are available from other places like Pedparts or ebay etc. Feel free to comment and if it helps give us a thumbs up, cheers
hi, thanks for the info, I have a lexmoto assault 125, same engine, where is the little oil filter please?
@@MrLockwood97 the oil filter is on the left side of the engine as you sit on the bike, down low and to the left of the engine number, should be a 24mm spanner to undo it, you'll find a spring behind and then the little gauze filter to pull out and clean, very easy but just be careful to not cross thread it when putting it back on, hope it helps 👍
@ thank you. 🙏
Great clear video
Thank you, I am using the version of this engine in Turkey (Mondial Drift L 125). I was adding the oil according to the window. I'm glad I came across this video of yours.
Glad it helped, all the best 👍
Hey man where can I get luggage rack for this bike?
@@fadhisahi1275 Hello mate, have a look on CMPO, chinese motorcycle parts online, they list a luggage rack for the Isca, part number LGRB028 👍
Apologies no that's wrong. It's just the bracket that the original handles bolt to. My mistake, looks like they don't do a luggage rack for that bike sorry
great! thanks for sharing
very nice description. as a photographer when your showing closeup work have a black or grey sheet behind your subject. your focus will stay spot on. now I know how to fix mine!
@@sekaf4125 Glad it helped and thanks for the tip, will do that next time 👍
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 I really do appreciate the how to’s. I live in Island in Southeast Alaska so this is very helpful.
@@sekaf4125 oh wow, well I'm afraid if the bike does need any work by me I won't be able to collect it but I'm more than happy to help out here if you need to know anything 😁
Hi, just seen your video. I have a Pierr 125 Custom I’ve had it for 15 years And now every time I open up the throttle, it cuts out completely If I open the throttle gently a little It’s okay I’ve just ordered the new spark plug. It might be that if not I’ll move onto the fuel system. Any advice? Thanks, Darren
@@DE-jk6rd I would start with the basics first, check the air filter isn't clogged, spark plug, valve clearances etc. It sounds like its not getting enough fuel if its dying when the throttle is opened or too much air which could be a split in the carburettor diaphragm or a bad inlet manifold not sealing properly. Could also be vacuum fuel pump as shown in the video. It's hard to say without seeing it but go through a process of elimination and I'm sure you'll find the problem 👍
Is this for the Euro 4 or Euro 5?! I've got a Euro 4 Isca and couldn't see anywhere in the manual that states how much oil goes in, just listed 10w40. Ta
@@Dreadlock_Kickboxer I've got access to lexmoto technical data and even that doesn't show oil capacity for euro 4 which is handy isnt it 🤔 Euro 5 is exactly 1 litre and that engine code is 157fmi so I think if yours is the same I would go for 1 litre as well
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 appreciate the reply my guy!
Hey bud, question about the brakes on these if that's cool?! My friend with much more motorcycle mechanical knowledge said he'd do the brake fluid with me. I have zero rear brake now. I'm assuming this is do to with thr linked brake system. What's the correct order order /procedure for bleeding these?! We bled the rear nipple then tried the front banjo bolt near the forks whilst pumping the rear brake. Any advice would be mega 🙏
@@Dreadlock_Kickboxer hmm, they can be tricky to bleed. There is a bleed nipple on the front caliper which is connected to the rear brake, the front caliper has 3 pistons, top and bottom are front brake and middle is rear brake, the top bleed nipple is for the front brake and the lower one is rear brake. I'm lucky and I've got a vacuum bleeder so I can pull the fluid through really fast from the rear brake fluid reservoir to the front caliper but you might be ok pumping it through with the pedal if you do it fast enough. The problem is the air likes to sit at the top of the line. Worst case is to remove the front caliper and lift it as high as you can to let the air bubbles travel upwards naturally, hope that helps
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 solid reply. Thank you so much my dude!
I love you
@@tm9853 very kind, love you too 😊
Great video! Learnt a lot from this especially the fuel pump being vacuum and where the pressure comes from on the manifold, going to replace the pump and check the manifold seal. My Bike would start run for 30 seconds go lumpy and die, I stripped the carb, cleared the jets, replaced the diaphragm, changed the air & fuel filter and still the problem persisted. I was in head scratch mode too. Gonna get onto this right away. Well done mate, very well explained, good tutorial.
@@nickstanford3552 Very kind thankyou, I hope you get it sorted 👍
You are a diamond geezer! Problem solved. Do more of this. You deserve an Oscar for your delivery, explanation and teaching skills! Absolutely brilliant.
@@nickstanford3552 Haha that's great news, really glad it helped, thanks for letting me know, it makes it worthwhile, all the best and enjoy the ride 👍
Thank you very much , in the same position on my Aprilia Habana so hopefully once I check properly the problem all will be good again and back on the road here in sunny Ceredigion.
Thank you your your content this is very helpful to myself being a solo isca rider that knows nothing on maintenance
You're very welcome 🙂
Does Aprilia Habana have the same carburetor like Vespa ET4 125? Also do you know what are the adjustment for air adjuster/mixture screw?
Be nice to start from the beginning with taking sump off etc
How do you mean? There isn't a sump as such on these little engines
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 location of what to undo to drop oil
Stupid not to have a dipstick
Annoying how they don’t have dipsticks or anything like that , don’t even have a level on the glass
Superb help !! I got the same problem my habana won’t go over 40mph ! Starts getting lumpy then won’t accelerate! Might be over heating or lack of fuel because of inlet manifold or pump 😢
Could be lots of things, did the bike work ok before?
Great video. I have a assault E5 22 plate. It's the same on mine about 500 ml and it reads jut under full on a level ground. Not good really is it 😂
No it's not good is it, no wonder these bikes don't last very long 😁
Very interesting, I'm resurecting the same bike, didn't know what that green relay/ timer was for. good to know! Now if I can just find out why my dip/ main beam isn't getting power, I'll be right!
Electrics can be a minefield on some of these older bikes, good luck finding the problem 👍
Did you mesure how much oil you got out?
Not precisely but way less than a litre
Hey ! Thanks for the video, my unit has a grease from factory and I’m seeing that you have cleaned yours completely. Did you mounted it back with no grease at all ? Thanks 🙏🏼
I put some grease back in there, I should have said in the video but yes there should be grease there 👍
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 Thank you sir
V. helpful video, thanks
Just remove it entirely
Can you please tell me which engine oil is best for my Lexmoto ISCA 125cc
Hello there, I use 10w40 semi synthetic motorcycle oil here, has to be motorcycle oil for the wet clutch 👍
So ill add to this, i thought this about my keeway klight, i had it on my paddock stand nice and level but after oil is drained out i rock the bike back and forth and get about another 200ml out of it. These engines where designed on different frames so i think there not the lowest point where the oil nut is. Just a theory.
Yeah good point and thanks for watching. The drain plug on the Isca is right at the bottom and im sure i get almost all of it drained out when i work on these, no doubt there will be a tiny bit left behind but even so, only getting 500ml in there and showing halfway up the window cant be right and i think the engine is tilted slightly forward from the factory making it look ok when really its not. I'm up to 3 top end rebuilds for customers now on Iscas alone due to oil starvation but other bikes which share the same engine seem to be ok, definitly something to keep an eye on.
ah could be a common issue, only thing i can suggested is top it up, run it for 20 mins, let it rest and recheck the level. @@motorcyclerevivaluk741
I've got a isca that had just under half a litre, I've changed the oil but it won't run til hot and sounds like it has a slight knock bottom end. Still in warranty but I don't know if I'll get away with that really.
Hmm, iv had this before with another one, try taking the pipe off that connects the crankcase to the airbox and seeing how it runs, if smoke pours out of the crankcase breather then it's new barrel and piston time unfortunately. Warranty should still be valid in my opinion
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 I contacted them and they said because its only had one service it should be on its 4th, they think it wouldn't get the warranty
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 they is no smoke just a puff of air
@@m111kca4 ok did the bike run any better with that pipe disconnected from the airbox or just the same?
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 since I've disconnected and tested with it and without it now will idle by itself while warming up. Aslong as I don't rev it so I'm quite happy with that
I'm glad I watched your video, I've just got a pump to put on my dax copy. I was going to have a small hole in the inlet manifold. After what you just showed me, I will be drilling it to 3.5 mm. Great video thanks. 👍😎
Your a camping thanks mate mine been playing up did not know you can services them so thank I will fix mine hey you know how much fork oil to go in the forks
Glad it helped, let me know exact model and year and I can tell you fork oil specs 👍
Awesome thanks for fast reply I have Yamaha for 250 2kr 1989 or 90 mine a import so they stamp new year on it thanks again Mick
Ok I believe the fork specs are the same as for the 3LN model which would be 10w fork oil at 390ml in each fork and a final measurement of 106mm from the top of the fork tube down to the oil level, this would be without the spring and tube fully down, hope it helps 👍
MUCH thanks for the information
Thanks a lot for the video!! I have a 2001 fz1 with the same fault code. A new servo is 300 dollars. I’m gonna clean mine too. Thanks again.
Excellent video, just wondering if you know what the thin transparent (stained reddish by fuel i think) pipes connecting to the carb do, there are three of them 🤔
What was the exact symptoms with this Exup servo? Mine seem to open very late and is hesitant to open at all before 7k rpm.
Hi I'm so confused, I have a little Habaina 50 2003. When I fill it with fuel and leave it for a few days when I come back the fuel is no longer full I look in the opening and it's all gone I'd have to refill again approx it would take about 1 liter to bring it back up to top and then it will start
That doesn't sound good, the fuel must be going somewhere. If you can't see anything leaking out to the floor then check your oil level to make sure it isn't finding its way into the engine and mixing with the oil. It definitely needs investigating
Just was head scratching today on a oo habanna came across this video and I think this might be my problem, thanks.
Hope it helps 👍
Carbs check out with clean jets and clean all around. I tested the vacume port that goes to the intake on the bike. I used my vacuum/pressure gun and the guage slowly goes down. Is it supposed to hold vacuum exactly where I leave it without dropping on the Guage? The bike idles on and off choke but will not rev without dying.
Hello brother. I love your vids. I have a question maybe you can help me with. Mine has a square mikuni pump. It just poors fuel when bike is not running just like a gravity fed petcock would do when it's turned on. Are the arrow sides supposed to hold vacuum? Cause mine just keeps pulling air through it when I apply vacume to it. Any help is appreciated. Thankyou.
Thank you very much, it looks like i have the same problem
Im going to check the vacuum port size like you did cause my boot looks just like yours. I have the same pump as you. Do you know if it's supposed to pump at idle? It dies at throttle and only idles but no change in fuel height in the clear line I'm using temporarily.
It should pump at idle, maybe more so because there is more vacuum at idle. Did the bike work ok before or has it been off the road for a while?
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 yes I believe it worked correctly before it sat.
@@shanemyers4142 ok, if it worked ok before i would probably look inside the carburettor to make sure all is well. A good clean up inside and blow out the jets and check any rubber diaphragms for splits
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 I got to thinking. There is a brass colored washer around the main jet. Have you ever seen those fail before. I'm wondering if fuel is getting passed the washer maybe and it's flooding it. I've been looking on line to see if one has failed on someone before to see what the symptoms would be but havnt found anybody yet.
@@shanemyers4142 they don't normally fail but it's worth cleaning as much as possible inside the emulsion tube where the main jet goes into, there are tiny holes in that tube that should be clear. Also if you have the carbs open it's a good time to test the needle valves are allowing the fuel in and also stopping it when needed. Just blow into the fuel line and flip the carbs upside down and make sure the floats move and stop the flow of air. How was the condition of the rubber diaphragms in the top of the carbs?
Have a hyosung Aquila gv250 and a head scratcher as well. I'm goin thru the same issue. Im going to take the boot off and see if the vacume port is restricted. Do you know if they come from the factory restricted? Or do they get restricted over time??
It shouldn't be restricted from the factory, in my case it was an aftermarket part that had the restriction and caused my problem. If you're having similar symptoms to mine I would start with checking all your vacuum pipes for leaks or splits or loose fitting and then check the intake rubber boot to make sure it's sealing nicely around the carburettor and also good seal to the cylinder head. Hope it helps and let us know how you get on 👍
Okay yea I took boot off and doesn't seem restricted. Going to check hoses, o rings, and seals for vacume leaks and see what I find out on it. I noticed that the pump is pumping again. That's confusing me.
Subscribed! Thankyou! More like this.
Hello is it ok to remove exhaust servo motor?
I just found this video as I'm having problems with my 1998 Aprilia Leonardo 150 scooter, there's very little fuel coming onto the filter. When you ride it in the normal flow of traffic it accelerates alright but as soon as you close and then reopen the throttle it bogs down and almost dies, and on occasions it does. What surprises me is the vacuum appears to be taken from the carburettor itself, a Mikuni BS 26, rather than the inlet side, it's just a rubber connector between the carb and head. I'm left with two possibilities, valve clearances which I did that not long ago, or a defective fuel pump which looks to be an absolute pig to get to as the tank sits under the frame rails so I'm not sure that I can get to the pump without taking the tank out?
Hi Graham, very hard to say without seeing it but lots to check. If the valve clearances are slightly too tight it could cause a lack of compression which could be it or you could try spraying some easy start or brake cleaner around the inlet manifold with the bike running to see if the revs rise which would indicate an air leak. Also the simple things like a dirty air filter or a worn out spark plug is worth checking. If all that is ok then maybe the carburettor mixture is too lean in which case and little 1/4 turn or so anticlockwise on the mixture screw might help smoothen it out. I would think that as it runs ok when out on the road that the fuel pump doesn't sound like the problem. It's a big list but hopefully it helps you out
@@motorcyclerevivaluk741 I rechecked the valve clearances and they were fine. I replaced the rotten hoses on the fuel pump in the tank and checked the pump diaphragm. I thought the rotten hoses were the problem as now much better fuel flow to the carb. But alas every time I give it wide open throttle for a few seconds once I shut off, slowing up coming up behind traffic or approaching a roundabout, as soon as I try and open the throttle again it dies.
Have you looked in the top of the carburettor to check the condition of the rubber diaphragm for splits and that its seated correctly? You can check the needle jet at the same time to make sure its ok. Also I believe your carb has a pump jet which should spray a small amount of fuel directly into the carburettor when opening the throttle, you should be able to see it spray if you can remove the air filter pipe and look straight into the carburettor whilst quickly opening and closing the throttle.
Hi, thanks for the video! Is there a repair kit for striped cogs?
I honestly don't know but I would imagine yamaha would only sell the complete unit and I bet it's not cheap
After seeing this video I know the issue of my Ducati Monster 900 (1995) with a similar vacuum pump. You are spot on with the head scratching :D The motor runs, it revs, when I drive it dies… how does this happen?! Now I know. Thank you for this video!!!!
Thanks Maurice, hopefully it will help or least point you in the right direction. Its always worth checking all your vacuum pipes for leaks first before changing the pump. Good luck 👍
Hi, I don't own an R1 yet, but I know I will come back to this video once I do own one. Thank you for making this small tutorial! Knowledge is priceless.
Pleasure, thanks for the comment 👍
At the end of the video alot if fuel came out into the pan ate you had. Did you say that is too much causing a problem or this is OK? I lost you on that part
No that fuel is exactly how it should be. It supplies the carburettor and the excess fuel will flow back into the petrol tank which you can see when you look into the pipe where you fill your bike with fuel. Hope it helps
You’re a good guy thanks
Sir my scooter keep shutting off what could be the problem
