This video was recorded in San Fransisco, about a year before the outbreak of the pandemic. This is the only time I have visited the United States and out of all the cities we paid visits to, San Fransisco was the one I enjoyed the most because of its street cars, cable trams and maritime museum. If you get the opportunity to, I recommend a trip there!

Glad to have been a kid during the 60's-70's & rode those Steam Trains to & from Newcastle, the cities' heart has died since the beginning of the 80's...such is life.

I was lucky to be allowed to stand directly beside a working turbine+generator assembly of a decent power station. Freakin amazing. I was surprised how small the generator actually is, despite providing that much power.
There's certainly some impressive pieces of machinery inside White Bay, Paul!
Parsons is the steam turbine. The smaller ones are probably steam feed pumps.

I prefer the trip from town ( Circular Quay) to Manly the swell crossing the Heads makes for the best ride ever. More so in rough weather !!!

I have felt seasick crossing The Heads in smaller ferries, hence my preference for the Freshwater class.
Seems an unusual track. Ferries ex Manly usually sail straight south across the entrance to Middle Harbour
Hi Ron, thanks for commenting! On the outbound journey, we actually turned to be even closer to the Heads.
Yes that's quite common when there's a southerly - so the boats aren't broadside-on to the waves
