    That would work if your sleeve is still intact. What I can see in this video is that the sleeve is no longer intact and that causes the wire being sble to jump out of the spool. So you might think he fixed the issue, but my experience is that you will have to fix the sleeve part first in order to make it work again. This means you will have to adjust the wires with the amount of sleeve you took of for it to be a solid sleeve again. A pain in the rear job, but it can be done and that will fix it for how long it will take for the sleeve to be cut again by the wires. Toyota went really cheap here and this part will fail guarenteed overtime due to its construction of sharp wire and platic sleeves.

    If the selector is stuck, find the vent door it operates and put Armor All on the seals around the door edge. It’s not easy to access. Hot weather causes glue on the foam rubber seal around the door to flow and glue the door shut, jamming the selector

    Thanks for the video, all the other's that come up first just show the disassemble process. You showed the operation of the system and the troubleshooting process which is all i needed. The brass cable connector had popped out of mine so i got it rethreaded and works great. 30 minute job I've been putting off all summer.

    So here’s where I’m at.. my speakers were bugging out, and I narrowed it down to the head unit. I managed to fix it that, but now my heat doesn’t work. It will only blow cold air. It worked while I was on the way to get the new part, but after I replaced it, nothing. I plugged in the old head unit to make sure it was nothing to do with the new part, but that’s not the case.. Anyone?

    This exact thing happens to my 2010 Corolla constantly (I’ve had to rethread the wire probably 10 times now, meaning I’ve had to pull out the radio and AC assemblies every time). It looks like the wire is all mangled on one side which causes it to get loose easily. Anyone know a cheap/easy fix for this?

    I have a problem. On my Yaris it does not go on the defrost when I turn the knob it just doesn’t turn all the way to the defrost option. It gets stuck on to the feet/defrost just above it. Does anyone know how to fix that. Thanks

    • @IbzJaay19
      @IbzJaay19 2 года назад

      @@ashayan66 Iv still not fixed it. I did take out the whole middle bit out to see behind the dials and its connected to a silver wire all way round and it goes under the steering column and hides way under so couldn't actually find a way to fix it. You could buy the whole middle dial bit and check if that fixes it. You just have to disconnect the wire from the old dials and connect to the new one but thats 50/50
