Fanny Hensel (1805-1847) Dämmrung senkte sich von oben "Fanny Mendelssohn-Bartholdy received the same musical education as her younger brother Felix. In 1820 he wrote to her: “Music is likely to become a profession for Felix, while it is only an ornament for you; it may never form the core of your life.” Later he...

Clara Schumann (1819-1896) Three Romances, Op. 22 "The career of Clara Schumann-Wieck marks a transition point. Her career as a concert artist and teacher was about the most brilliant that could have been dreamed of in the middle of the 19th century by a woman. She had begun composing when she was nine, but underestimated her work; “I am just a woman, after all,” she wrote in 1838, “and women a...

I am reading the book Quartet by Leah Broad ( about 4 women composers , among them Rebecca Clarke). So I checked RUclips, to find her Sonata is still played. Great! I love the book by the way, greatly recommended.
You played so amazing, I love it so much.
I'm hearing this piece for the first time... it takes years sometimes. Beautiful performance, wonderful sonata. Redpath Hall can't have the best acoustics, but they've done a great job on this recording. I enjoyed it more than Gerard Causse's performance
6:53 - Allegro di molto
Only just listened to this performance. What a lovely viola tone and really expressive. But the balance with the orchestra is great - you can hear all the lines.

Really enjoying your channel/performances. Going from your video of Tōru Takemitsu’s “the bird came down the walk” to this preforming of Streaming makes a great listening experience!
This is a great approach: firm, strong tone, enunciating every note. Telemann loved this instrument. Let it sing!
one of not just my favorite viola pieces, but one of my favorite pieces of all time, and an outstanding rendition at that
Telemann, Haendel and Dowland...my favourite musicians of the time!
I first heard these , yesterday, in a rehearsal at Kneisel Hall, in Blue Hill , Maine. What took so long for me to hear these? I am 82!!!! I should have heard them years ago!!! I wish I had the $$$ to go to the Friday concert and Sunday concert to hear it again. Sigh. The two performersJesse Mills and Brian Hong were so in tune with each other. It was a true conversation.
Marvelous. Thank you both.
Sensational playing! Really beautiful frasing and wonderful tone from her viola. Inspiring!
El cuarto movimiento es muy característico de Schumann, se identifica enseguida, sobre todo el comienzo...
Wow!
Great performance. Great sound
Thank you! Love this fierce work!
@@Msgrenouille7yes, it is the first time I heard it... I wrote a piece for solo Viola many years ago but no one played it yet (I used to be a professional clarinet player). One Viola player looked at the notes once and told me it seemed too difficult (it contains a fugue). I wonder if I will ever hear it performed...
Takemitsu consistently created music that spoke wonders with totally new Harmonie and lines. Confrontation of a high order somehow lacking the shrill violence of most contemporary Europeans ,of course he has his own wildness and violence but everything feels natural in his work!
So glad the audience didn't clap at the end of the movement 😂
Great,Beautiful !
Dragon Quest III brought me here, thanks alot, masterpiece.
❤ This is wonderful. Thanks for posting it. 😊

I’ve been a classical music lover for about 60 years and I’ve felt tears during performances only a small handful of times. During the 2nd movement the tears manifested! Bravo to the music and the performance!
thank you for your kind words❤
Magnifique! Bravo!!! 💖💖💖💖
Lindíssimo!
Cool interpretation and great playing!
Beautiful playing! Awesome piece, cool dress too!
Beautiful
Great interpretation and radiant performance!
I'm 5 years too late but this is such an amazing performance, and your tone is beautiful! I dream of playing this piece one day like you do :D
Grand amateur de Telemann je vous remercie de si bien l'interpréter.
Absolutely beautiful! Sheer wonder!
Muy bueno, gracias... agradable de escucharlo...velocidad acertada, felicidades...
Man I'm playing this piece and I can't even play at that tempo but I did manage to play through the second movement
It is hard to believe folks are still writing Schumann without mentioning which one. Clara Schumann or Robert. In her day she was the better known. She concertina with piano all over Europe and was the one who brought Robert and Brahms to fame.
You can find Clara Schumann on my Channel as well, and on my second album ELLES, shining light on women composers. Enjoy!
Beautiful playin by both marvelous musician! Thank you! This is the first time in 60 years that I’ve enjoyed this piece. Bravo and Wow wow!
Thank you ☺️
Зло в музыке Шнитке элегантно, совершенно и всемогуще. Но, когда приходит красота, ему приходится уступить. Просто невероятный взгляд на мир: пугающий и прекрасный 🌿
Bravo 🔥
What are the movement tempos/titles, please?
Jóia, muito bom!!
Amazing, very nice finish to my day. Thank you.
Magnifique!
Thank you so much for this wonderful performance!! What edition did you use? Love the decoration at the end:)
Thanks! They are my own ornaments ! My full recording is available on Spotify if you are curious !
My favorite music song, Telemann concerto, Il mov. Thank you!
What make and year viola do you play?
This viola was made by Max Millant in 1950 (Paris)
