Seavey Hoops
Добавлен 15 авг 2012
My name’s Ryan Seavey, I’m formerly of Integrity Hoops & PlayPractice Basketball. I’ve worked with players at every level: from 6 year olds just starting out, to NBA MVP’s at the pinnacle of the game. My main goal is to turn this channel into a player development resource for players all around the world. ⬇️
Currently I’m working on player highlight videos that demonstrate various moves & concepts layered throughout the highest level of the basketball. As I get more organized, I’ll also start to share new content related to nutrition, athletic training, skill acquisition, & other various OFF the court topics that will help make you a better player ON the court. BETWEEN THE LEGS STEP BACK JUMPER
Просмотров 1,7 тыс.14 часов назад
60 second freestyle description: You gotta sell it like you’re actually driving… Hit a HARD jab with your front foot of the leg you’re crossing between, as the ball is going between your legs. Shift your weight with the ball as you cross over & then push the ground away & hop back a little to create separation. The idea is to get your defender moving backwards on their heels on the BTL Working ...
IVERSON CROSSOVER
Просмотров 3,5 тыс.14 дней назад
Keys to success: - Hang dribble the ball as you step laterally outside your defender’s frame - Use your eyes, chest, & to sell like you’re going to drive towards a specific direction - Soon as you see your defender shift his position to cut off your “drive”, hard plant your outside foot to explode into a wide, sweeping crossover This one’s special to me - AI is one of the people who made me fal...

RETREAT DRIBBLE SIZE UP
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.4 месяца назад
Useful in late clock situations. Gives the ball handler a chance to get their bearings, re-assess the court & to find an advantage… rather than getting stuck in a bad situation. Dribbling backwards makes the defender make a decision: 1 - They move forward to continue pressuring the ball. Thing is, their momentum moving forward makes them susceptible to getting beaten off the dribble. It becomes...

MOVEMENT SHOOTING
Просмотров 2387 месяцев назад
For a player who wants to be a complete shooter, being able to shoot on the move is a crucial skill to master. The ability to shoot on the move can create more shot opportunities for a shooter. Why? Relocating off the ball can make it easier for your teammates to see you; It can also create better passing angles so they can get the ball to you! Being able to shoot on the move will allow your co...

So many of these highlights are when the game is close late. There were also a bunch where it was game 6 in the finals they lost and they're down like 10-15 and Jaylen is getting like 3 or 4 buckets in a row. He never gives up. He gets better under pressure. The reason the Celtics were able to get over the hump in the 24 playoffs was because coach decided to go to Jaylen in the clutch and he responded all playoffs. Finally, after 7 years watching Tatum play well mostly but still brick clutch shots or forcing that side step he always misses, finally the coach said "hey, let's maybe try the other guy" and it went spectacularly. Just look at their clutch shots through their careers together, Brown has way more clutch baskets to tie or win or force overtime, and yet Tatum gets those shots away more often, easily 3 to 1 and yet Jaylen has done more with less opportunity. I'm hoping that the team leans more on Jaylen now that he's proven to be the more clutch player. Let Tatum put up all the shots he wants, but when it gets down to business I want the ball in Derrick White's hands and I want the shot to be designed for Brown. Well deserved FMVP, not a single bit of stat padding, just great play and the voters recognized it.
@@bpdmf2798 Really glad both of those guys are on the Celtics. Cool thing is, as good as they are now, they still have sooooo much they could both improve on. I’m excited for the future & I hope JB gets more recognition because he’s a superstar, plain & simple.
He is sooo good!!
Tatum clutch stats were elite his first 4 years it’s just that once Brad Stevens left they just force fed Tatum instead of actually running plays. So don’t be talking like you know everything saying he always bricked shots in the clutch all his 7 years.
@@thegreat1885 you don't know basketball either!
Great guy great game
@@tylerriley2587 yeah I love JB. I’ma Big Celtics fan, so I’m obviously happy he’s in Boston. He does a lot of good off the court
@@seaveyhoops yes I love both of the jays but not getting selected for USA basketball raises an eyebrow
@@seaveyhoops both the jays are all around players
@@tylerriley2587 I wish JB was selected for Team USA but I get the Derrick White choice… think they were just looking for a guy to fill a specific role. Kinda reminds me of Jrue Holiday - he was being heavily recruited to join Team USA over guys with better stats & accolades like Dame/Kyrie/Brunson… at the end of the day, Team USA just wanted a specific player to fit a specific role. It’s not that JB can’t fill that role himself, it’s more that Derrick White is used to filling that elite 3 & D role in the NBA on a nightly basis. He doesn’t really need the ball in his hands.
@@tylerriley2587 their passing development has been amazing. Gonna drop a video on Tatum’s passing some time in the next week - he’s been getting knocked a lil bit for his playoff performance but maaaan he made some INCREDIBLE passing decisions all playoffs long
Thanks for watching! Jayson Tatum video coming up next
all of them took a page from James Harden.
Yeah Harden has def used this move as much as anyone
I think Tim Hardaway might’ve originated this one tho but Harden definitely a master of this move 💯
@@nylesreed6971 Think I’ve seen a clip of Hardaway using this for sure. The first time I was actually introduced to it was before Harden was in the league - Nike Basketball used to do a “signature move” series with their basketball guys. They would have a player get on the court & break down like 4 of their favorite moves, plus counters to that move. Kobe, LeBron, Manu, KD, Deron Williams, Kyrie, etc all got one. LeBron’s was the between the legs step back. Definitely a staple of Harden’s game though. I’d say he & Anthony Edwards use it as much as anyone
Thanks
No problem man! Wish I thought to put a couple Naz Reid clips in there, his handle is niiiice

FUN FACT: did you know Allen Iverson didn’t invent his signature crossover? He was actually taught is by his walk-on teammate at Georgetown, Dean Berry. “When I was in high school, I used to do the Tim Hardaway crossover. When I went through my legs first, then crossed it over. And when I got to college, a walk-on, guy named Dean Berry, used to do it to me all the time. Just, crossover. It was just vicious and he used to get me with it in practice all the time because I had to guard him. So after a while, I stopped being stubborn and just wanted it, just add it to my game. At first, I was kinda hesitant about asking him to teach me because that'd be good for his bragging rights as far as telling people he used to cross me up a lot. But I mean, the move was so vicious, I just had to learn it."
Horrible shot shooting that far he fine how he plays now
Brown has the potential to hit half court shots , just gotta practice them .
WTF are you talking about?! Lmfao.
U post the best stuff. This is the stuff that matter in games to score great stuff to look at❤
Thanks so much for commenting! I really appreciate it. Making these videos is time consuming but it’s 100% worth it when I get comments like this. New videos on the way soon’
Thank you
a gaurds most valuable tool 🙏 not only for "1-stepping" your defender , but to maximize your steps distance without losing momentum trying to studder step to line up your steps correctly . absolutely love using this
Mostly side step... Different from euro step
A euro step IS a side step. Thanks for watching!
thank you for posting this, it help a lot
amazing stuff!
Appreciate you watching! I just threw you a sub, your channel looks great. You already uploaded a bunch of videos I had planned to upload one day 😂 & tons more on top of that

I call it the overhand cross dribble
How is that not a travel? He took like four steps there.
He took a gather step & then went 1, 2. Technically the gather step is illegal at the high school level, but it happens several times a game without being called. IMO it should be adopted into the high school rule book
Oh that's nice! 💯
Thanks 💯

100% left pivot, right foot jab for right handed players (Harden opposite) pause this video & jab left foot/shot right handed 😂 I know right?
Yeah I have a pretty nasty jab step jumper & I’m a righty. I NEVER use my left foot to jab, only my right. Left foot is always my pivot foot
Men this video is so awesome. You do a great great job. Please keep uploading, your vids is like a Basktball Library
Thanks Coach! I’ll be uploading some new videos again soon for sure
love a euro step
Cj McCollum plsssss

Dbook fav move
Great compilation!
Thanks John! Appreciate you taking the time to watch
Listen… on EA bulls vs lakers/blazers… it was the most difficult signature move to pull off!! Lol
This is part of the reason that I think 3 pointers should be 4 points and that the midrange should be 3 points.
Butler’s go to move
make a catch and shoot mid range video on the baseline
Gonna be hard to find clips on that. But If I get enough for a short video one day then I’ll definitely upload it. Any other suggestions?
a running shot
Yessir, got just about enough clips for that one right now. I’ll try to put it out in my next couple videos!
Could you please do for ball pick ups?
