P0128 Thermostat and Sensor fix didn't last, 2020 Blazer 2 mths later same problem,Thermostat Test.
Просмотров 7 тыс.Год назад
GM has a bulletin out stating this is a problem, they need to recall the vehicles with this thermostat and change the design, I suspect it's something in how it opens and closes, it's seems to operate differently than the ones I'm used to seeing. Let me know if you have tried this test.

Megabytes?? Are we back in 1992 Martin?
Having same issue . Chevy quoted me $1025 est for labor . One part alone code 130 ish .
I’ve the same unit, I recommend replacing both thermostat and sensor with aftermarket.
Dude you can access the screw head without removing anything. 30 seconds to do
Mind me asking where you purchased the led lights that you have attached to your grill?
The same thing happened with my 2020 Blazer it has 67k miles I’m a single parent what would you suggest to do I’m so tired of mechanics getting over on me. Will you suggest?
I’m having the same problem I have a 21 blazer
I think Chevy uses cheap sensors because this happens with my car too, and have to unplug the battery
Delete this it’s useless
It gives you a lead....if your into making your own repairs it leads you down the right road.
where is the sensor located ? please help
Which way lowers the lights? Left (loose) or right (tight)?
I didn't see a regulator for the gas. Was it inside the home?
You all wasting money. The ect sensor is in a harness with 26 gauge next to it high voltage which will cause interference. Thats the design flaw not the thermostat or sen sor. Down the road it will happen again. If u do not take out the ect wiring from the high voltage harness. I found this out from a electrical engineer.
Found this on a Blazer forum: As an Electrical Engineer who now owns an auto shop I can say I saw the design flaw fairly quickly with these 3.6L engines (Blazer came into the shop with P0128, AC not working, Steering Assist Reduced, and Temp Gauge not working). Luckily there is a fairly easy solution I will detail below after gory details of issue. You can separate the Coolant temp sensor wires from the wire harness and move them a little (OK easy meaning no knowledge or special tools or hours of work). First the problem is the ECT is a two wire (signal + and -) 26 gauge wire running through the ignition coil wire harness. Ignition coil signals are very high voltage and fairly fast frequency which causes a lot of EMI which is easily picked up on a 2 wire voltage based wire set. The ECT wiring should have been a twisted shielded pair if running next to Coil wiring or they could have used a single wire resistance thermistor, but they should have just routed the signal a different way to begin with. This is a design issue and it should be a recall...maybe a class action lawsuit is needed to force them to fix it correctly. The FSB (field service bulletin) fix blames loose connector terminals and it patches the computer software to not include ECT wire failures in the Steering, AC, and temp gauge inhibit logic (overtemp readings will still fail off these functions). Also the P0128 code can come back occasionally. Now back to the fix. Find the ECT under the air inlet and follow the sensor wire about 10-12 inches back from the sensor. You will find another connector in line for the ECT, disconnect it there. Now you can work with that connector (don't pull too hard or you may break wires), pop up the body clip holding it down and follow it forward to where it joins the harness right at the turn to the back of the engine. Here take a nice new razor blade (the hook curved ones are less likely to cut a wire) and cut thru one layer of the cloth friction tape to make an end to unwrap the tape. Use good pliers to pull with if you need to. Unravel tape until between the 1st and 2nd coil, you will have to cut a couple of tie-wrap body clips and you may need to cut the tape again. I was able to do it in about 15 minutes. I advise taking a break or two if you get tired as it can be a difficult position and it is better to take your time and not cut wires you have to fix later. Once you have those two wires (light blue and black) separated from the mass of other wires, wrap the wire bundle again with some friction tape and tape it back to the cut tie-wrap body clips. I put the ECT wires into some small split loom and brought it over the engine to the fuel rail that passes next to the ECT sensor. Then plugged the connector back to the sensor side. I tie wrapped the rerouted ECT wire to the fuel rail. Clear the engine codes and drive a happy car again.
Thank you for this my bf is having the same issue with his 2020 blazer
As I recall, Generac wants the generator shut down for about 30 minutes once every 24 hours. It gives you a chance to check the oil level while the generator is getting a break.
Was it the sensor or the thermostat after all? My blazer is having the same issue. Called GM stated that if it is outside of the house warranty, they would do a cost assistance I was told it was the thermostat and it’s was about $660 to replace and labor. So just replace the thermostat and I should be fine ?????
Let me know if you did the issue I just had this happened to my blazer just now
@@emanuelchavez785 I never got a response yet, I’m still waiting but they have the part at AutoZone for $168
There is a TSB on how the ECM (Computer) needs to get an update at the dealership. If not with warranty, you may have to pay, but it will more than likely be the cause over replacing something that doesn’t need to be fixed. TSB # 22-NA-054
Check this bulletin: TSB# 22-NA-054
Mine just ran for 8 days straight. I never checked it. Will change oil in a few days.
No rebar?
Get your toes up on the foot peg. If your boot catches, you will see your boot facing behind you instantly. Likely to take you down.
Amazing sound 🔥 Did you take the cats out too or just the slip on?
We all need to start a class action law suit against Chevy...How else are we gonna get this solved? They need a recall asap !
It's a wiring issue not thermostat or sensor. fixed mine with out spending a dollar. Gm thinks it's thermostat but it's not. And is not the sensor.
@@adammilenkovski5809 Would this be covered under my 60k warranty. I keep having same issue as soon as i moved to a place where the weather is colder and every time it drops below 70 degrees outside it goes to cold and the power steering assist comes on. My heat still works but not the AC. Please help feeling frustarted
what I do for my 24 hours oil check is I turn off the main disconnect in the house first then switch off the transfer switch then I shut off the generator after the cool down I check oil start generator back up switch on transfer switch go back to main disconnect in the house that is still switched in off position I then turn off all of the separate breakers in the panel after they are all off I then turn main back on then switch all the breakers back on ONE at a time so the generator does not get the shock of everything starting up in the house at once giving the generator the chance to start my three large refrigerator and one large upright freezer up one at a time so all the starting motors of each unit don't start up at the same time putting the load of all my four units and everything else on the generator at once it doesn't draw as many amps at the same time starting up doing it that way it is a little bit more trouble to do it that way but your generator will not take a hit as bad doing it that way
Gas piping bond? Working clearance in front of the meter outside?
How long did you wait for the oil to settle before checking it? Over a running time of several days, how much oil does it use each day?
Just ordered a 22KW as well! How's it been so far?
There are a lot of different setups on these videos. I think you could have just turned off the main breakers inside the lid on the unit itself to disconnect it from the house load, and like you were saying forget about the transfer switch disconnect. You can hear it take on the load when you turned the twin breakers back on. Correct?
Can you program each individual button to be a siren tone instead?
Beauty and beast . Was that cat delete?
aren't the nuts 8mm?
I would guess those valves are going to be spot on That's my opinion.
I'll let you know!!
Good deal.
Had a problem with HTH Green to Blue. The first packets were entered then I entered the second II group and that is when the problem occurred. I didn't have a circulator I simply sprinkled the second part onto the surface. Now I have brown particles on my pool water. Any suggestions?
Just a follow-up, brake worked awesome! Highly recommended.
Didn’t work for us
bruh my ears just got pregnant 😮
Im getting code. And coolant temp doesn't read. Think its the temp sensor not thermostat. Cause i get heat
Just been through hell getting ours fixed. Goodbye Chevy!!! Hello Toyota!!!
Be a mechanic you got it. 😩
😊
Hello James ,I have same issue with 2020 Chevy Blazer , GM dealership saying need to replace thermostat but power train warranty does not cover. How to buy that sensor and replace it,could you please make another video for replacement and parts
Hi, I will see if I can find a good video for you.
Out of 10 videos I watched this was the most helpful thanks G 🎧🔥
Straight to the point, no fluff between or around. Amazing video.
i just need to see how to take it out and replace it you’re playing with me
Sorry, I will see if I can find a better video for you.
2019 blazer, bought used with 49000+/-miles, 2 days later shudder in shifting, goes to dealership they replace valve body and torque converter. 5 days later go visit son at college 700 miles round trip. Next day PO128 shows up steering assist disabled which leads to this thermostat/ sensor issue. Still got warranty but one service guy says drive it in - I said I’m 50 miles away if thermostat is stuck that won’t be good. Next day we call dealership and set up a tow that will fall under warranty…. Hope this doesn’t have to get uglyOnly 50000 miles . INSANE GM like this guy said DO YOUR PART,
Did you get everything figured out?
We did , but I got called to work and the wife had to take to dealership and sit and wait. Will get the invoice and info for you in a day or two. So far so good. Sorry for the delay.

@@scottlong7752 Will this be covered under my 60k mile warranty as i already have 54k on my 2020 blazer RS
GM SUCKS!!
It does seem like stuff is cheaper these days.
It seems very clear Chevy has a flaw with this . Just bought a 2019 Blazer with 49000 , 1 st day home developed a shudder then went to dealership where they replaced valve body and torque converter. Got it back just in time fie a 4 hour road trip one way to visit son In college, ONLY to get back and go to work Monday morning and this happens. STEERING ASSIST DISABLED- DRIVE WITH CATION !
I used my scan tool to clear the codes and it seemed to fix the problem. No codes came back and all warnings went away as well. I did have to clear them with it running though.
super helpful video. I have the green on the exterior of the exchanger and will replace.
What do you have in the grill and roof?
Why is the video called “replace coolant temp sensor” if you didn’t even show how to replace it?
Good f'ing question. I just want to know where the damn thing is.
