Coming from owning highly reliable Toyota Land Cruisers, my 5 golden rules for owning these unreliable but cool VW Vanawagon: 1. You should be able to repair your own van 1. Maintain the van regularly 3. Check and replace parts before long trip 4. Bring spare parts: ECM, O2 sensor, distributor, … repair manual, tools on the trip 5. Bring your AAA membership, get ready it to be towed in case you can’t fix it yourself Good Luck!

What size tires are your Ko2s? Did you have to do any mods to get them to fit?

Found a specialist in Vancouver, VanWonder, they went thought the vehicle before purchase. Please pray for the first trip, as I will break rule #4, driving 4,583km home... think I will ask the garage owner to drive it for a few days before hand to shake it down. thanks for your videos!

I have those mirrors, and they are great! Well worth it. You will want a full size spare tire, and the swing away systems are really nice. Although I find I use the hatch less because of it.

Heel leuk allemaal. Maar met kinderen, hoe gaat het als de kinderen voor het slapen naar de wc moeten en of midden in de nacht en niet te vergeten smorgen' s? Zonder wc kunnen mensen niet! Valt mij op dat men hier vaak aan voorbij gaat..........

I have 1 rule that I feel would be more helpful. Rule #1 - If you intend on buying a VW, make sure you have solid mechanical skills, or be prepared to be raped! This isn't rocket science here. Get yourself a proper manual, learn where to order parts online...and make RUclips your best friend. You can repair ANYTHING yourself and save thousands of $$$. If not....buy something new with a warranty!

Hi, whats the bracket on the floor between the gear leaver and handbrake?

I like the leading door edge trim to cut down noise, never have seen these and went to gowesty and there they were just ordered a set the noise has always bothered me and I did not know of the fix. THANKS for the tip. My van is already pretty quiet after I put sound deadening and insulation in all doors, dash, hatch and under back seat but this will take care of the whistle.
