The CGI of Ian Holm was absolutely terrible!!!! How did they mess that up so bad when the rest of the movie looked so amazing, even the choice of music was spot on and gave a real 70-80s vibe! They should have used another actor or even a animatronic one had been better!

The stakes are higher in Kills than in 2018. Its not a Michael vs Laurie story, that's the old sequels bud. This is a direct sequence to 78, the film where it was random, Laurie wasn't a special target. the stakes are higher because not only are Michael's other victims joining the fight, there's now a lot of misinformation going on about Michael's intentions. Also, this notion that the sibling angle isn't a big deal, is nonsense. It undermines everything the original film was about. It narratively makes no sense for the story to play out as it does in 78 when the sibling angle is at play. ` Some fans are in denial, but H2 is a retcon of the original movie and when you try to gloss over the fundamental theme and point of the story being changed, all you do is the story make less sense. The sibling angle isn't present in 78 nor does it belong in the new trilogy For the last 6 years, this JOHN CARPENTER executive produced trilogy has been harshly criticized for not being something it wasn't trying to be. Halloween 78 was not a "Michael Myers" movie. He was a deliberate absence of character, the story was about the townspeople and the different ways evil can manifest. That's the point of the Charlie Bowles story, the kids in other towns Loomis and Brackett talk about as having haunted houses as well. Michael was just the example in the story at hand. You also don't judge the narrative you get in a story, by when you were given information about its production or what you saw already in a trailer. That's where I think this video is also misguided. Knowing as a fan there will be a third installment, while going in..... has no bearing whatsoever on what the stakes are in the actual story. In Kills case for example, this isn't about trying to convince the audience either Michael or Laurie is going to die or not. I mean pretty much standard after the first movie, the main target Michael is given, we go into the theater knowing he won't be successful against his target and his target won't successfully kill him either. Its functionally contradictory to object to Kills and Ends foreknowledge as reducing the narrative stakes within the story.

Alrighty, I finally watched the new season and I can now safely watch this (honestly I hadn't even realized it was finished airing until you released this video, so it took a bit.) So you pretty much hit on my issues with most of the episodes, though I have others but I'm not gonna get into it all here (remind me next time we hang out though.) Overall the season was fine, not amazing but not terrible either. No episode became an instant classic for me, it's all pretty middle of the road, but that's just me. I think Planet Espresso was my favorite, and I'm not even sure what my least favorite is, there are a few contenders. I will say though, it's still been fun to watch new episodes, so I'm glad they'll be making more, and I'm not expecting anything amazing but I at least hope it doesn't dip in quality too much, though I doubt it with how much of an improvement this season was on the previous one. I thought it was fine but I do feel like most of these episodes focused too much on current events and commentary rather than give us character growth and development. Perhaps it’s just me, but it feels like they’ve made Fry more mature and Leela more immature? One could argue it’s a sign of how characters can change in a relationship? Also, while I don’t want to be one of those people who is disappointed in not getting what they were hoping for, but with the Season Finale being called “Otherwise”, how could we not get an answer to what Nibbler meant when he referred to Leela as the Other?

You can't wrap it up in a finale, it would need a season to wrap it up fully. After 35 seasons there is so much that needs closure that it would have to be a season to do the show justice. I'd probably end it with a flash forward, have the core characters gathered at a reunion of some kind years later to give us some sense of what became of the main characters. Maybe it could be in celebration of Lisa winning her second term in office? However it is done, it can't be done in one episode and do justice to 35 seasons and 100s of characters.

Beauty and the Bug was ok but that twist at the end was stupid. If the Buggabo could talk all along when they are in a hive mind. Why didn't they in previous episodes? It makes no sense.

I feel like most likely the last episode could be hust another episode and the Simpsons just sort of ends.

Mallory was definitely something that stung a lot but her send off was well done. I shared a similar pacing with the show as you said. I was hooked from s1-s5, but then fell off. Not due to a lack of interest but either i didn't have access to watching it or something else caught my attention more. The coma seasons were not really my favorite. I really enjoyed that Barry and archer became buddies. I wish they would've brought back Conway Stern just one more time. And lastly, i just finished all the episodes and the last one "in the cold" felt rushed to me. I had no idea about new writers or anything deeper than the show. Shit, i didn't even know Jessica(mallory) had even died irl until i saw the episode which i think is why it stung as much as it did.

Idk if it was just me but did anyone think Archer and Lana were going to get back together and tie the knot. Many missed chances due to Archer being Archer and Lana getting married after the coma episodes but I thought that was gonna be the big pay off of watching the show for me

100% I think a last season that actually leads into a finale is the way to go. I always thought The Simpsons moving away from Springfield would be a great way to end the show. Each episode could focus on saying bye to a beloved side character, while the family member subplots last all season: Bart saying bye to Millhouse I think would be a really satisfying idea. Maybe Homer coming to terms with how much hes actually going to miss everyone, capping off with a nice Flanders moment. I don't think you do that couples therapy thing with Homer and Marge, because for the most part, I feel the movie served as a good end to the "mariage" subplot that has always been part of the show's dna. Maybe what moves them away is that Marge gets a really good job and her season plot is adjusting to being the primary bread winner for the family and Homer is left to take up the home duties... I feel like they have done this in a past episode, but I think that's all

I can't speak for anyone besides myself, but I personally really enjoyed the new season and was excited to see two more are coming. I hope they can keep up the quality

Also what I've always found interesting is how Future-drama established a sort of future canon that all the following flash forward episodes have loosely followed (I think, I haven't seen them all.) The scientists who went and found the alien, did so on purpose, and still all died. They had the tools to study or destroy it, and still all died. Those kids were straight up ambushed by lifeforms they know nothing about, and 2 of them still survived, within a smaller window than the Marines. You make the movie better by having zero survivors and letting that ship ultimately crash and be destroyed.

Mallory's death hit me pretty hard, it really felt like it was time to wrap it up after that, as the show would never be the same without her. The real reason behind her death just make it sadder. So it's bittersweet for it to end, but it had to happen. I'll miss it

My biggest complaint was that Conway wasn't in the finale. They had the golden opportunity to make him almost lose his last limb, escape the danger, brag, and then get killed in a follow up

I was curious about it so I'm glad you made this video 🙏 As someone who also doesn't typically click with anime, I'm definitely still willing to give this a try because it's franchise I enjoy (well, the first two films at least), so hopefully the detractors out there aren't basing it off the fact that it's anime alone.
